"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

"Always a great experience and stay"
Primary reason for staying in the Flatiron / Chelsea part of town is location to my NY office, but even if I were on a family vacation I would choose the Park South. Always friendly staff, clean rooms, and just a plain good experience.

"A Little Pricey but Great Staff and Location"
Nice, helpful staff clean comfortable room (though queen only can be on small side while 2 doubles was plenty of room) good breakfast!
"Shabby, Not Chic"
While the price was reasonable and the neighborhood was convenient for the needs of our business trip, overall I was unimpressed. The carpet, bedding and upholstery in both my room and my business partner's room looked shabby, worn and stained. The HVAC unit in my room had a broken panel on the front. Room service did not start until 5:30 for dinner, […] and there was no room service at all for breakfast. Bathroom was small even for Manhattan - it was clean, but the sink was cracked. Service was OK, nothing stellar. A solid three - if you're looking for a deal and can overlook a few stains on the chairs, it's a serviceable choice. Read more
"park osuth dissappointment"
a room for two was furnished as for one only. f. ex. only one towwel, only one armchair. the armchair had a huge tear in the cloth and a second one could not be found because the armachairs had been sent for renovation. in the bathroom there was no counter to put toiletries on. a very first for us especially considering that we had paid an upgradeto […] have the best room category in the hotel. our stay was for three nights but we changed to a different room after the first night. this one was slightly better but looked nothing like the advertised photo on the website. "Probably the best value in NYC!"
I was blown away by every aspect of this hotel. Business travelers want a clean, quiet room with a nice hot shower with decent pressure. We don't like paying extra for Internet access. This hotel gets it! It's the only place I'll stay in Manhattan from now on.
"Very nice"
This was truly a quaint hotel that provided all that we needed it to provide us. Clean room, nice location, friendly staff, surrounding area that was close to pretty much everything, I am glad I stayed at park South Hotel. Will stay there again next time I find myself in New York.
"Park South Hotel"
It was ok the bed was not comfortable though thats my only complaint.

"Great Experience!"
I stayed at Park South last minute for one night for my birthday with friends. It's very cute and quiet and the staff were super nice and helpful! I'm also a sucker for continental breakfast so that was awesome. The surrounding neighborhood is one of my favorite in nyc and I had ALOT of fun. The room is pretty simple but it was very clean and I had […] everything I needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel! Read more
From Charles at the front door to housekeeping to the front desk, the level of service and friendliness of the employees at the hotel was outstanding. My son lives in NYC and we have stayed at many hotels in the city. I would rate the PSH as among the best.
"Great hotel"
I was worried a dinner meeting with clients would run late, so I reserved a room at this hotel as it is a few hundred yards from their residence. We ended up dining in the hotel restaurant (a favorite of locals apparently) where the food was good and reasonably priced - nothing fancy, just good food. The rooms are inexpensive, but not cheap. Although […] most rooms in NYC are small, these were not cramped. Each room has a separate ac/heater which was set to high. I turned it off and opened a window, but I can see how this would appeal to many people. The bed was comfortable. The wifi worked well. The shower had both pressure and a high flow (also unusual). The gym was rather spartan, but who goes to a hotel with the primary purpose if exercising? Overall a pleasant experience with friendly staff at a reasonable price. Recommended. Read more
"Superior Queen??? NOT"
Well where do I begin? Well, I booked what I thought was going to be a superior queen room, but when my husband and I checked in January 14, 2012 we entered to a 10 x12 room!!! Unbelievably TINY!! It's really unfair for two people to have to share this room! They don’t show this room on their site which is deceitful because there's a possibility that […] you'll get it when checking in. The rooms on the site show the 12x17 rooms only. Other than that fiasco, the room was clean, but I was itchy once I went to bed & tried to sleep. Staff was professional and friendly but I wouldn't stay here again. Read more

"Great Time"
After a long treacherous trip to the city and having to check out of a prior hotel that evening Park South was a oasis for my family on a Christmas in NYC
"Park South Hotel New York"
To begin, the hotel staff were very friendly; the from desk was also very informative and helpful. The room were pleasent, had a nice aroma, and the beds were suprinsingly comfortable and fortunately contained no trace of bed bugs.Overall, it was a very nice hotel, and breakfast also very good, would highly recommend it.
"Park South Hotel"
Convenient, well-run
"NYC's Best Kept Secret-Love it"
Been going to NYC for 20+ years, and have never found a hotel that compares for the price. Multiple stays here. Staff always uber-pleasant. Have spent a fortune to stay elsewhere and all you pay for is frills like exercise room, etc. Perfectly clean. Location great, subway 100 feet away, parking across street or 1 block away. (Indian food lovers-2 blocks […] around teaming with Indian restaurants.) Always our first choice. Read more

"Park South Hotel"
Small room and bathroom, but to be expected in NYC. Very clean and comfortable. Lobby area was very nice and comfortable. The doorman was very helpful with directions and calling a taxi. Breakfast was excellent. Will 100% stay here again.

"cozy with great staff"
The staff at the South Park Hotel is a delight. They have chocolate at the desk! The neighborhood is relatively quiet. The room we had (ADA) was a bit cramped but not bad.
We stayed in the Park South Hotel on a recent Sat. night. From the minute we arrived until we left everybody we came in contact with from the hotel could not have been nicer.
"not worth yhe money"
Consider this place only on last resort or if price at a hundred dollars per night ...
"Lovely location-great bistro."
We have stayed here x 2. Really like location, size of hotel, and fabulous little bistro/jazz lounge and breakfast room. Staff very accomodating and helpful. Main criticism is standard queen rooms too small for the price especially.
"Very cramped rooms with bad brunch"
I drove into NYC with the intention of valeting my car upon arrival to the hotel. Upon arrival, my girlfriend and I waited in the car for 5 minutes before we decided that nobody is going to come and meet us to valet the car. I had to get one of the staff member's attention only to be told that valet is done through the front desk. So if parking was […] an issue that day, we'd have to double park the vehicle without supervision and go in to valet the vehicle. We were greeted by friendly staff members once inside. When we arrived to the room, it was EXTREMELY cramped. One of the smallest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. There is no closet either, but a small 1 foot by 3 foot cabinet to place your clothes. The room completely surrounds the bed, with hardly any room to walk around. We had some stains on the carpet that we tried not to guess what it was. The very next morning we went to the "highly esteemed" sunday brunch. SUPER dissapointed. All they had were some bagels, some cereal boxes, some lunch meats with flies landing on them, and orange juice that was very watered down. I will never recommend to anybody nor ever stay at this hotel again. Should have shelled out an extra 200 and stayed at the Gansevoort a block away. Read more

"Great value in a Culinary Hotspot"
Comfortable room, very friendly staff. Incredible location - close to everything in Manhattan and within a block of the some of best Indian restaurants of Manhattan. "Too dark"
The lighting in the room was horrible. Even the bathroom did not provide adequate lighting. Too dark to do work or even put on makeup. Would not stay again. Additionally, the Hotels.com website said that there was smoking permitted in rooms in the hotel; but when checking in we were told that the hotel was totally smoke free and we were required to […] sign a statement saying we would not smoke under penalty of a large fine (we both had to sign). Had we known, there were many hotels that permit smoking available and we would have made our choices accordingly. Because we had prepaid for this room we were stuck. Worst of all was that we were made to feel like criminals that were not to be trusted. Read more

"Park South Hotel - Excellent location!"
I stayed at Park South hotel for only one night as I was in town for a day and a half for a concert. Not only was the location amazing, but for the price, this hotel had everything we needed. It was in walking distance to the Ferry (which we took to the concert) and it was also walking distance to Flatiron area which as great shopping, restaurants and […] Eataly which was one of my main missions on this trip. For a three star, this hotel was nicer than I expected. Rooms and bathroom were well kept and seemed somewhat recently renovated. They upgraded us from a Queen to a King bed as well as gave us early check-in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a basic hotel (non-sketch) in an excellent area, then I would highly recommend Park South. Also, it was about a $35 cab ride from LGA. Read more
"Park South Hotel - NYC"
We stayed in this delightful and quiet hotel for one night in August. Very pleasant stay. The room was slightly small, but was well furnished. The location was convenient. I would recommend it as a well located and reasonably priced […] Manhattan hotel. Read more
"Highly recommended hotel in very good location"
As a family of 5 we stayed for 3 nights in this beautiful hotel. We were absolutely satisfied. The staff was friendly and competent. The hotel room was clean and tastefully furnished, very well maintained. We particularly liked the breakfast, which is served in very nice atmosphere. (After staying in several hotels where only plastic/paper dish was […] provided we very much appreciated the 'hardware' dish). Location is perfect in our view for a touristic visit. Metro station is just a minute walk away, but the area itself is absolutely pleasant for a walk. All in all, absolutely recommendable, we would book this hotel again for the next visit. Read more

Very convenient (subway stop right around corner), friendly front desk, clean, spotless room and bathroom, great continental breakfast the next morning. there are no ice machines on the individual floors, and we needed ice for a knee injury, and five minutes after i made a call to the front desk, a staff member brought us ice and two plastic bags. perfect!
