"Good Value"
This was a great value for the accommodations. There were no bath towels in our room, but we were given everything we asked for at the front desk. Our keys stopped working twice, but the staff quickly gave us new keys. The staff was friendly and the room was reasonably clean for an older hotel. The staff was helpful. We asked for a quiet room in the rear and it was not a problem. It had free parking which was very good. However, the only restaurant were not in walking distance. Pizza could be delivered, of wanted. The lighting system took some getting use to and there was not TV channel guide which would have been helpful. It was just ok. We only needed to stay there one night, since our flight came in very late. The staff was very friendly, and offered free cab service from SFO. But we didn't feel it was very clean. Rooms were dusty and weren't cleaned with detail (and I'm not a clean freak by any stretch). It's right off the freeway, so there was freeway noise, if you […] need quiet to sleep. The staff was courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although the toilet was hard to flush and noisy. The only downside of our experience was the continental breakfast in the lobby. They told me that hotels.com keeps booking for rooms they the customer never receives... the room had hair on top of the toilet tank and the furniture was very scratched up and holes in the couch... and we ended up with a smoking room! I had called the 800-number to ask about the check-in time, and they told me 10am. When I got to the hotel, the receptionist said it was 12pm. Normally I wouldn't care but we had been driving for almost 7 hours and I wanted a pace to lay down! The man was refusing to let us have a room early at first, but eventually gave in. "Do not stay in this hotel"
I can not recommend this hotel at all. The "shuttle-service" means that you have to call the hotel and have them give you a special number for a taxi company that will then pick you up. In my case, it took them about an hour to do so and I had to call them three times before the driver finally showed up at the right spot. Note that there is also another […] Ramada Limited in SF that offers a regular shuttle-service from the airport. This apearently leads to a lot of confusion. My room smelled somewhat funky, the toilet was running and when I picked up the hotel guide, it was soaked in some kind of fluid (I hope it was just water...). The friendliness of the staff was highly variable: While one guy was very nice and super-helpful, the other guy was simply rude and appeared to be annoyed by my presence. He also left the counter for about 20 min. one morning and there is no bell or call button on the desk... The breakfast is very basic but okay. Since the breakfast room is way too small, most guests end up eating in their rooms. The hotel is also far away from the typical SF attractions (Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's dwarf). In sum; If you're only staying for a single night and want to be close to the airport, then this hotel might be acceptable for you. Otherwise, do not stay in this hotel. The hotel was ok and pleasing to some degree. However, for the price I paid, it should've had a higher quality of furniture and such. I've been in hotels that were less than $100 a night stay and were of better quality. Although not bad, I felt that service overall was below it's 2 1/2 star standard. Also, I would like to note that while in my room, […] the maid entered with a key without knocking and had a little boy with her, who walked in looked at me and turned around and walked out. After the boy left, I saw hand reach in with a couple of extra towels and placed them on my luggage. One done, the hands dissappeared and the door shut. I was sort of startled this because I believe that they are suppose to know before entering. And, what if I was not dressed....what would that little boy be looking at as he entered. "Only good thing is it's clean"
This hotel should only be considered for a one night convenient stop near the airport. PROS: clean and near the airport. They offer a free shuttle to/from the airport. CONS: Our card didn't work, and when we asked for help the staff said, "you have a problem" and refused to do anything about it. That made it so we couldn't both leave the room unless […] we did so permanently. The place is not soundproofed so expect to hear EVERYTHING from other rooms. Free breakfast was a waffle you make yourself and some stale cereal. Toilet did not flush at all. Soap crumbled in your hand. Bed and pillows were not comfortable at all. The worst part of all? The "shuttle", which is a contract with a local cab company. They were so rude on the 1st phone call (you call yourself to arrange the rides). I had to call back FIVE TIMES because the driver "couldn't find us' despite very specific instructions as to which terminal and airline we waited at. Then when we got in the cab, the driver blamed us and then gave the hotel clerk a hard time. I'm used to staying in hostels where not much is expected but this was a joke. "We felt welcomed"
When we arrived in the lobby we were greeted by GM Victor Parbhoo and he was very friendly and very funny. We felt welcomed right from the start. He made sure we were comfortable our entire visit and my husband and I really apprciated the attention that we were given. The best part of staying at this motel was the close proximity of the rental car facility at SFO (2 miles). The room, furniture and amenities are very dated. "Seedy Hotel Room near Airport"
Pretty sure there was blood on of the pillows and grime on the rest of them. I used the cleanest one to sleep on and just threw the rest on the floor. The blanket that I used (sheets were dirty so slept on top) was shredded with holes.
