I booked this room because it seemed close to everything that I wanted to go see. It is true that it is in the middle of all the good destinations, it is still a long walk until you get to anything good. The neighborhood is really dumpy and dirty. The rooms aren't much better. The room smelled like it used to be a smoking room. After returning home […] I had to wash all of my clean clothes again because the smell sticks with you. The TV didn't work at all and the free internet was too slow to stream anything. The bed was partially broken, and the blanket was torn. The free continental breakfast is a joke. When I arrived at 8:30, 1/2 hour after it opened, there was nothing but 1 piece of bread and some bland juice. we had to call the staff to have them restock the breakfast, and then all he did was put out a couple of tiny danishes and put more syrup in the hot chocolate machine. Overall, this hotel was ok for me because I was on a really tight budget, but I will not be going back. I booked this because I thought that there weren't going to be many other vacant rooms anywhere nearby. When I got there I walked down the street and saw a ton of other vacancies. The hotel has some free parkings, but note that there is not enough parking for every guest. There is a continental breakfast, but it's only served from 8AM-10AM, so no early start. Overall, there rooms are ok, but not great and so is the staff.

The Inn is centrally located, however, room smelled of cigarette smoke everyday. Proprietor said was a non smoking hotel. There also was no air conditioning. Walls were grubby. They needed either a paint job or good washing. There was no lock on door to #301 the office staff said someone would be there "tomorrow" to fix it. We (two sisters, without our husbands) tried to tell them it is not safe. We decided to stay at another hotel and they gave us another room. You have to get down to the office for coffee and treats before 10:00 am but the office is closed. We banged […] on the door until we woke him up. This hotel is so shabby, and so poorly run. We left the maid a tip, but got no toilet paper and just one towel. But just two blocks east is the Cow Hollow which is cheaper and better maintained. Next time we visit our nephew we will be staying there and saving money. Now that we know. We stayed there because we were five sisters and rented two rooms. It would have been difficult to get two rooms at that late notice and the rooms were already paid in advance. Read more

Noisy. Filthy. Disgusting. The worst hotel stay I've ever had. The bathroom was so bad, it cannot be described. There wasn't even a place to put your soap. The sink looked like it would fall off the wall at any moment. There was no water pressure to at least try and wash off the dirty feeling you get from sleeping in the filthy and run down room.

I read the reviews and it was the only option in my price range. I can handle humble but not filthy. the blanket, when turned back, had tire treads and other odd stains. I "slept" with the sheet and my bath towels for warmth. First was the bed bugs. Found one dead one on the comforter and every night some crawling on the walls in the back of the room. Noticed the walls and linens had what I found out later would be small blood spots from smashed dead bed bugs (although linens were cleaned). No a/c so had to sleep with the windows open... which had no screens and let in mosquitoes, […] which thankfully was only things that bit us. Leaving the windows open also brought in a lot of street noise from the BUSY Lombard Street. Woke up at half dozen times a night to noisy trucks going by. Also, didn't help that we slept with the light on so we could keep any crawlers at bay. We would have changed hotels but everything within our price range was booked. The customer service was non existent and the so called free parking was very limited (13ish spots for 24ish rooms). Out of our four nights there we were only able to park in the lot twice but that was only because we got back to the hotel early. We did not utilize the free breakfast as it appeared to just be juice, coffee and toast and there was no where to sit but a dirty couch. Upon check in, the clerk was not friendly. He was complaining he had a long day and wanted to go home. Never once asked about us our explained the hotel (where is elevator, when is breakfast or even say "glad your staying with us"). If you are on a tight budget, then this may be somewhere to stay. The place is run down and needs a major uplift. On a positive note, the surrounding neighbourhood was nice with some great restaurants and coffee shops. The front staff were helpful and there is a great view from the top balcony of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the bay.

Offered only 6 parking spots- all of which were not meant for any big vehicle such as the cargo van I was driving. Noisy location. Th room was old and furniture was severly stained. The bathroom reaked of urine... we didn't even shower before we left. The faster we got ourselves out of there, the better. No air conditioning. Gross!

Went i got to the hotel my room was not ready. Then the room they gave me did not have a working key. They switch me to another room and when I walked in, the maids had not cleaned it yet (trash, dirty beds) etc. Finally, I do not know if it is bed bugs, however I did wake up and had bites all over my back.

I went to SF to attend a class and brought the family. Needed an inexpensive place to stay. The Presidio Inn was inexpensive and in a good convenient neighborhood with lots of restaurants and the ever important Peets coffee just a block or two away. Also close to the marina, Palace of fine arts, Exlporatorium, Fort Mason and many bus lines.The location […] was good. The room itself was pretty rundown, the beds were uncomfortable and the furnishings old. It just didn't seem that clean. It's fine if you don't want to spend a lot, but if you want to be more comfortable spend a little bit more $. Read more

Breakfast was terrible. Hoe chocolet machine did not work. people in the office were not at all professional. Coffee was not available untill after 8 AM. We didnot use inhouse coffee maker as we were questioning its cleanliness. There were stains on the blanket. Parking was big problem.

For the very low price that we paid this hotel was decent. The hotel is just 1 block up from bus 30 which takes you down the the Wharf. They only put 2 towels in the room so if you need an extra make sure you ask when checking in. I like 2 towels (1 for my hair and 1 for my body). We called down for an extra towel but never got it. On a positive note […] they do offer free wifi!! Check in is at 3pm and they will not allow you to check in even a minute early. If you show up early go enjoy some sight seeing. :) Over all the hotel wasn't all that bad. Read more

It was dirty and scuzzy. Paper thin walls and NO PARKING. They only had 4 spots to park in and they were coned off so you couldn't use them....... I'd recommend spending the extra couple dollars ($30) and stay down at fisherman's wharf in a nicer hotels and location. Not in such "if'y" area.

The motel staff was FABULOUS...very willing to help us out. We arrived before check in and had numerous bags. They graciously kept them safe for us until our return...9 hours later. FREE parking and continental breakfast. Price was reasonable and we will definitely stay there again. Again, the staff was GREAT!

First, the hotel manager sent us across the street to the days inn. He did this because he said there was a problem at the Presidio. At the Days Inn we had bed bugs and they did not seem to care. Also while we were in our room, they booked it to another and sent that guest to our with a key.
