Flagship stores ring Union Square, among the vanguard of West Coast retail. Chinatown begins at Grant Avenue and Bush Street, while Gold Rush-era mansions crown Nob Hill. South of Union Square, the convention center area includes the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Cable cars turn around at Powell and Market streets to head back to Fisherman’s Wharf.

"Great location and cheap rates!"
We stay here every time we are in San Fran. It is the best hotel for the money in the Union Square District. We only use the room to sleep and shower in, so we don't need anything fancy (because it is definitely not a fancy place). It is clean which is a MUST!!!!
"3rd time stay"
Overall I am very happy with this hotel. This is my 3rd stay in the last few years and it works great for me. Very convenient location, safe neighborhood, and reasonable price. If you want to spend lots of time in the hotel and enjoy its amenity, this is not a right hotel for you. Very basic hotel here. But I spend time doing sightseeing and dining […] out, I only use the hotel for sleeping and showers etc. Read more

Overpriced 2-star hotel
"Good value for money"
Most enjoyable!
"Nice, clean low-budget hotel"
I stayed at Adante Hotel for two nights from 13 April to 15 April and in general I was very satisfied. My room was nicely cleaned and had a reasonable size. The location is really good with only a few minutes walk to the centre of Union Square. Hotel receptionists were friendly and helpful.
"great location, cool hotel."
it was a good experience, worth the price, good continental breakfast.
"bed bugs"
This hotel had bed bugs. Left ASAP.

"adante hotel"
rooms at the front are very loud due to the busy street out front. The elevator (only one was broken from noon the day before checkout to after i checked out. Had to carry all bags down from the 4th floor. (Daughter and granddaughter from Australia made for lots of luggage down extremely narrow and steep stairs) Wasn't fun and not sure how much older […] folks would manage to get up or down. The desk staff was great however. Read more
"Adante Hotel"
What this hotel had going for it was the location, the room was clean, and it felt safe. What it didn't have going for it was decent customer service. The day person was decent, but the evening person left a lot to be desired. No greeting whatsoever, annoyed that I called downstairs to get a blanket. I was told the heat doesn't go on until 9, but I […] could come downstairs and get a blanket if she had any left. So I asked for another one for my son since we had twin beds and the fact that she had to go look for another one really seemed to annoy her. Earlier when I smashed my fingers, by accident, on the automatic door and the wall my scream didn't even result in a "Are you ok?" The room was small but quiet. The view was probably the worst we have ever had-it was nothing but a ry small enclosed alleyway looking into a couple of other people's windows. For the money we paid and the location, it was OK, but the attitude of that night clerk is not representing that hotel well. Read more

"Good Rates Poor Service"
Pros- Hotel is in a good location for tourists. The rooms are set at a cheap price. Cons- I called the front desk for assistance and they never return my phone calls. Staff members aren't very friendly. Rooms are small and bed sheets are itchy. Elevator is very slow especially of your room is above the third floor.
"Room is too tight"
Yew, room is so small, and the elevator get stuck...
"Nice enough"
Good price. Clean room Breakfast is simply muffins, toast and juice Parking is very expensive at hotel. Save a few dollars and find a nearby garage.
"Adante Hotel, great price, rooms, and service!"
Adante exceeded all my expectations for a budget hotel in the heart of SF! Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. There is a sketchy neighborhood nearby but you can completely avoid it and still get around the city. As a young woman staying alone I felt pretty safe. Staff was amazing too. Left my ring by mistake after checkout, came back a few days later […] and they found it and saved it for me to pick up! Rooms were cozy and clean. Breakfast was decent, but hey it was free. Defiantly recommending this hotel to others. Read more
"Better values in the area"
We stayed at the Adante in March and it is about 2 blocks from a good area of town, so I figured it would not be too bad. Unfortunately I was wrong. The hotel is pretty outdated, our blankets had holes in them, our bathroom was extremely unclean when we arrived. It smelled like pot, and randomly, there are painted pictures in everyroom of things like […] birds. I mean, painted tropical birds as our wall decor, and sadly it made what could have been an old nicer hotel into a cheap looking place. There are lots of homeless people outside, a bit more than the next couple of blocks over closer to union square where for only a tiny bit more, we could have a much nicer stay. The beds and pillows here were AWFUL! Worst sleep ever. The walls are pretty thin, you can hear everything. And dont even think about sleeping in, the maid vacuums the hallways outside your room at exactly 8 am, if not before,so if you are there for a vacation, so sleeping in for you. We slept in, or tried to, until 9:30 one morning and besides the vacuuming the maid knocked on our door twice for room service. I mean, I never even saw a do not disturb sign to prevent it! The last night I was there I arrived back to my room and my window was wide open, mind you there are no screens on the windows there either. I still dont know what that is about. The staff there are very nice and helpful, but unfortunately the rest of the hotel has so many problems that I would really not recommend anyone stay there. There are better values in the area. "ADANTE HOTEL"
Good location, quiet, near to Union Square. For the money and location, not bad.
"Adante Hotel-Good value for what it is"
If you're looking for a fairly priced, centrally located hotel in San Francisco, this is the spot to books. It's location is a major plus, with all sorts of restaurants, cafes, things to do surrounding it. Valet service was spot on & the front desk was helpful.

"Great stay and excellent staff!!"
If you can get by the small rooms(really not that big of a deal) the hotel was excellent. The staff made the stay that much better. Extremely friendly and nice to talk to in the middle of the night when you get back late from a night out. The internet was EXTREMELY fast, so if you are looking for fast internet pick this hotel!! The location was great, […] quick to powell street for a trip on the cable line and only a little bit further to the convention center. Also, two doors down is the best pizza you will ever have, so when you stay make sure you order from them! Read more

"Great location in downtown San Francisco"
This was a great little hotel, with reasonable prices, friendly staff, and very clean rooms. The only complaint is that the "breakfast" was not adequate nor very nutritious.
"Adante Hotel - you get what you pay for"
I stayed in a king room and it had all the basic amenities that you need. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The surrounding area is not the best, it is right on the border of some shady stuff and that makes for a bit of street noise throughout the night.
"Superb!!!!!"
All my expectations were met and exceeded. Excellent stay at a reasonable rate.
"Close to sites and bus"
Very old hotel. Bar on corner. Street extremely noisy with people on sidewalk outside every night until 4 a.m. Sirens, honking etc. kept us awake all three nights. Continental breakfast muffins and toast with long lines to make toast on one toaster. Fruit was not replenished so it was gone by 8 a.m. Toilet clogged and we had to go down 7 flights to […] the desk to get a plunger. Had to ask each night for enough towels. Clientel is young college age. Best thing about hotel was the price and location. Insist on a room not on the street and it may be quieter. Someone set the smoke alarm off at 2 a.m. Guests were talking on stairs right outside the room at 4:30 a.m. No way to keep fan on and turn lights off. No air conditioning--would be hot in summer. excellent staff that always makes sure your stay is in comfort. excellent place to stay
"Inexpensive, clean, comfortable ho"
Inexpensive, clean, and comfortable. Small room, but good for two people. Walls/door were thin. I heard the maid vacuum in the morning and people leaving their rooms. The elevator was very slow. Hotel located down the street from Macy in Union Square. Parking nearby cost $25. Pizzeria next door was open late. There was a deposit required for the hotel […] reservation. No issues checking in or out. Bathroom was small, but clean. The only issues with the room were the toilet and the shower. The toilet took about 3 flushes to empty the bowl. The water from the shower cold at night and in the morning, but the faucet had hot water. The towels are small and rough. The bed was comfortable. Slightly on the harder side. The window opens completely. The room was always warm. I was on the 7th floor. Queen bed. Read more

"great price and location, a little inconvenience"
we just spent the weekend here- wanting to be close to union square, but not to pay too much. We had a very clean room and great front desk help, but due to the electricity sensor in the room, I had to get up all night to continually press the button to restart the ceiling fan (and it was very hot and stuffy in the room, although very cold outside!). […] I guess when the lights are out, the sensor assumes no one is in the room and turns things off to save electricity? Neither front desk clerk was able to help with this, but when we needed to get a quieter room away from noisy neighbors the front desk was very accommodating. Do try the nearby Indian restaurant Chutney- delicious and very inexepensive. Read more
This was perhaps the worst might's sleep I have ever had. Location seemed good and I didn't mind the small size of the room too much. We had requested a quiet interior room for a good sleep but we were given an exterior room two floors above street and there was partying all night long and drag racing out the window, single paned window. I got a total […] of two hrs sleep prior to driving 6 hours home. Complained to the front desk and clearly there was no concern for customer service as we were told, oh well you're in San Francisco. Stayed in SF many times and never had that problem. Highly unrecommended hotel and we are fairly easy to please people. Read more
"Clean rooms, sketchy neighborhood"
This hotel is not new, but the room was very clean and pleasant. Iron and ironing board, hair dryer, shampoo, soap, body lotion, all provided. Comfy bed and clean sheets and pillows. The only elevator, which can only hold 4 people, is slow. This hotel is on the edge of a pretty sketchy neighborhood to the west, but to the east is perfectly ok, with […] lots of restaurants, coffeeshops, walgreens, etc.. within a short walk. Depending on the price I would definitely stay here again. Read more
mostly indifferent staff, tiny rooms, uncomfortable beds, cheap, bad coffee and breakfast, not terrible if everything else is booked but one can nearly always do better in SF
"San Francisco close to Market Street"
I was there on business for two days. Hotel was within walking distance of market street which was excellent for us. As far as the hotel, the rooms were small specially the bed. They did have breakfast in the morning which was a plus considering everything is so expense in that city. Overall it was a good hotel!
"The Adante"
Cute hotel right in the heart of everything. Staff are very friendly and helpful. For the price, this hotel is a bargain if you want to be somewhere convenient to just about everything.

"better than you'd expect"
a great place for cheap lodging..clean rooms...great service...even free coffee and muffins in the morning...
"Best buy in SF"
Couldn't ask for a better hotel at the price. Convenient location. Hotel has all the amenities, including free wifi in my room. Only criticism: The continental breakfast is less than adequate. Just slices of white bread, with one very slow toaster and a waiting line to use it.
"Good Value"
A good place to stay if you want to pay a fair price for a place that is close to the cable cars and attractions. It's about 3 blocks to walk to the Powell street cable cars. Buy a mini pass for the cable cars and check out the BART for transport to and from the airport. hotel was clean and staff was nice. They even upgraded our room. Ask for Gary on […] the night shift to get great information about the local stuff. Ignore the panhandlers. They are all over the city and even in high class areas. Mostly they are in the tourist areas anyway and have nothing to do with this hotel or location. Avoid the Tenderloin area. This is a decent place to stay. Read more
"Great Value"
Adante is in a great location on Geary, but man is it old and noisy. Walls / windows are paper thin, so the city noises are loud and proud. Staff is very nice, aside from the valet parking attendant, who had a whole lotta self-entitlement (but certainly not rude.) The rooms are small, but very inexpensive for the area, so while this is not a fancy place, […] I was very happy considering the cost. Read more
