We booked a junior suite and we were happy for the first 10 minutes of our stay. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped us with our luggage to the room and when they opened the door the first impression of the room was great, huge bed, lots of space, we were happy.... but then what was missing was noticed. There is nothing […] in the mini bar, the TV is really small, the bathroom poorly lite, there was no bathrobes, they only supplied a combined shampoo/bath wash and no room service. Breakfast was boring and limited. The 3 servers were rude, unfriendly and seemed to like answering "prego" to everything you asked them. The staff was pleasant but not outgoing. The location was further from the Spanish Steps than expected. The mattress was slanted and needs to be replaced. The room showed signs of wear and could use some updating and/or maintenance but was clean.

Londra & Cargill is a wonderful, clean, and quiet hotel. While the location wasn't the most convenient to the major tourist sites in Rome, it is about a 10-12 minute walk from two metro stations and a 15 minute walk from the Termini (Rome's central train station). The staff was very courteous. Breakfast buffet had many options but you should not expect American style breakfast. We found a nice restaurant nearby and also a grocery store with prepared foods, sandwiches and a nice selection of breads, meats, cheeses, wine and desserts. A 10 minute walk to Bernini subway station.

Super friendly staff and clean. The breakfast at 7am is good with pastries, fruit, yogurt, a few different types of salami and ham, hard boiled eggs. Best of all, a waiter immediately asks you if you want coffee or cappuccino. You can have a classic Italian breakfast of a sugar-coated, chocolate-filled croissant and cappuccino.

I stayed here in September which is still busy season. I got a great rate through Expedia, and it includes a superb breakfast, and free wi-fi. Location wise, it's about a 20 minute walk (southward) to the Spanish Steps or the Trevi Fountain. It's in a quiet neighborhood which was nice. The closest Metro station is Barberini. It's also close to the US […] Embassy. The room was nicely furnished with a big bathroom. The bed was softer on one side so I slept on the other. The carpet in my room was clean but worn and should be replaced soon. Towels and sheets were excellent. Chairs were comfortable; desk was small but functional; nice size closet, safe, and a mini fridge round out the furnishing.. One word of warning. I stayed in a room on Floor 1 (remember, in Europe ground floor is Floor 0) while my colleague stayed in the room 2 floors above mine. To our surprise, my colleague's room was smaller and the layout was different. We both paid the same exact price so there is variability. My room came with a special key to activate the electricity. It seems strange but it works just fine. Also, you're supposed to leave the key at the desk when you leave the premise. It's a safety feature so someone doesn't pickpocket your keys when you're doing the tourist thing and slip into your room while you're out. I like it. All the staff I spoke to spoke English well. Nice hotel, but a little far from the main attraction, within walking distance though. The breakfast was a big plus, and the neighborhood felt safe away from the middle of the hustle and bustle around the Central Station. The most important thing to me about a hotel is its' cleanliness. I was very happy with how clean everything seemed and I was able to sleep comfortably because of that. I thought that the room's size was decent for 2 people but if you had more than that in the room it would have felt crowded. I did not hear any other guests our entire stay. We were […] on the first floor and had a window overlooking a typical road but you could completely open the window and we just loved that. The hotel is somewhat off the beaten path; there were never any crowds or busy times of day around the area but there is a bus stop about a 5 minute walk away. The free breakfast was absolutely amazing!! Every night my husband would say that he couldn't wait until breakfast in the morning. The only negative to the hotel was that the hair blow dryer in our room barely had any power at all and I was depending on that blow dryer as I did not bring my own. By barely any power, I mean it took just as long to air dry my hair as it would have to blow dry it. I am not sure if the blow dryer in the other rooms have this same problem. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for a couple or single individual that doesn't mind walking and doesn't need to hair dryer. :) Next time we go to Rome we plan on trying out a different area to stay in but if that doesn't work out, I would be glad to return to Londra & Cargill. The staff at this hotel was very friendly and helpful. Our triples were much bigger than expected for a European hotel and rates were reasonable. Only problem with the rooms was inadequate air conditioning for the 95+ degrees in Rome, and the beds were rather hard. Just got home from a stay in Rome at this wonderful hotel. It is located in a very nice area of Rome and we found the staff and accommodations outstanding! Located in a nicer area of town, walking distance from everything. We arrived early, about 1130 am but the staff had our room avail before noon . We covered a majority of the sites we wanted to see in 8 hours, easily finding our way around. Being in our 50's-60's, we were very comfortable walking around town on our first time in Rome. Breakfast was great, nice assortment of breads, cheese, meats, cereals, yogurts, cakes, tarts, juices and 2 types of fruit set out each morning. Coffee, tea and cappuccino's also avail upon request. The maid withheld soap, toilet tissue, and cleaning the bathroom when we did not leave a tip the first few days. In other words tipping was MANDATORY in order to receive any service.
