"Ok for the price"
This hotel was in a quiet neighborhood far from the crowds, which was nice. The breakfast was good, especially if you like carbs, but there wasn't enough seating several mornings. Although the hotel claims to offer wi-fi, it didn't work in our room, which was on the 4th floor, and it sporadically worked in the lobby area. This was a problem for us, […] as we had planned to do a lot of online research on tours, etc. The staff at breakfast was friendly. Front desk staff, which doubled as concierge, could be if you were the only guest there. Rooms were clean. Decor was dated. Our room phone and one overhead light did not function. "This hotel was far from downtown."
When we get there for check in, two men was yelling each other in the front desk. Wasn't a good experience, they stay for a while for about 5 minutes during my check in. The server on the breakfast room was not good at all. I will never came back to that hotel again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Rome with my boys..."
Surprised my 2 adult sons in Rome at the airport after a week in Ibiza. Knew the hotel they booked was 30 mins from city center and went on Expedia last minute and booked the Londra. Excellent location, clean, large rooms. Staff could have been more helpful - only negative. Definitely stay here!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel within walking distance to everything!"
Could not have asked for better accomodations. The staff was very helpful especially when we needed dinner suggestions. They called ahead for us and the restaurant was ready for us, especially helpfull since we were a group of 13. Breakfast was plentiful and the wait staff couldn't be more accommodating. "Ok hotel but far from the city"
Hotel staff was not helpful with anything when asked. There was no clock in the room. It was very difficult to tell time. There were no glasses in the room for water. Even when we asked for cups. Internet was slow and not even worth using. The beds and pillow were hard as rock, with exception to the sofa bed. Breakfast was good. The kitchen area and […] staff were very nice. We thought this was an excellent hotel because the staff was very friendly and helpful. A great cold breakfast buffet that offered a wide variety of food was included with room. "Nice hotel great staff"
The location was perhaps the best aspect as it was close to stations, attractions like Trivi and Spanish Steps. Being in a quiet neighborhood, it was away from the maddening crowds but close to many good eating places and a nice little Gelato place. Internet was adequate but not great and the breakfast. Was adequate and on par with most Italian breakfasts. Staff […] was friendly and helpful. They arranged for taxi from the airport that was very convenient. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Quite Hotel"
Very nice and clean hotel. In a quite area, 10 min walking from train station. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The front desk can call a taxi for you anytime and book a trip or tickets for you. Breakfast is very nice, they have boiled eggs, cheese, cereal, bakery, yogurt, fresh fruits, juice, and coffee is included. There is a great Gelato store […] next to the hotel and they are open late, don't miss it. There is also more than a restaurant, and a sandwich store close by and a very convenient grocery store. "Boutique-style hotel in the Embassy/Financial Dist"
We booked this hotel on an Expedia "special" and could not have been happier. Quiet, in the Financial/Embassy district with a lobby that was not a zoo. Still, we were able to walk to many of the sights (Spanish Steps, Borghese Museum). Many nice restos nearby. All staff were bilingual, and several were particularly informative when we needed info (pharmacy) […] or resto recommendations. The room and bath were spacious and comfortable. Our weather ran from HOT to rain during our 3 days. The AC had malfunctioned shortly before our arrival but was addressed in a timely manner. Nice large window. The breakfast and the breakfast room were lovely. For the price, this was a most pleasant surprise and I would stay there again Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic Experience at this Hotel!"
This was my first trip to Rome. I booked this hotel based on the information and reviews on Expedia alone. What a great hotel! The room was very spacious(queen bed) and well appointed. The breakfast buffet was fantastic each morning. The hotel was very conveniently located for exploring Rome on foot but was a little off the beaten path which made it […] very quiet for sleeping. The staff was excellent. We were trying to reconnect with some relatives after 30 years but did not speak any Italian. One of the hotel employees at the front desk, Sigmund, helped us make the call to two sets of relatives while he translated for us! He brought our family back together after 30 years! His actions were above and beyond the call of duty. In addition, all of the hotel staff were very helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations, maps and all other advice. They all spoke very good english. I will definitely stay here the next time in Rome! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good value and nice hotel"
The hotel is good and has a good location. Restaurants are close and you can walk to the touristic areas.Genuine Expedia guest review
We booked a junior suite and we were happy for the first 10 minutes of our stay. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped us with our luggage to the room and when they opened the door the first impression of the room was great, huge bed, lots of space, we were happy.... but then what was missing was noticed. There is nothing […] in the mini bar, the TV is really small, the bathroom poorly lite, there was no bathrobes, they only supplied a combined shampoo/bath wash and no room service. Breakfast was boring and limited. The 3 servers were rude, unfriendly and seemed to like answering "prego" to everything you asked them. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but luckily there are some fantastic little local restaurants close by. We will NEVER stay here again, Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was pleasant but not outgoing. The location was further from the Spanish Steps than expected. The mattress was slanted and needs to be replaced. The room showed signs of wear and could use some updating and/or maintenance but was clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value convenient to everything"
Hotel was clean and what was expected. Rooms are small by American standards. But, typical for European hotels of similar value. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Public transportation (cabs, buses, and train) make everything convenient. Cab ride from Termini to hotel was less than 5 Euro. Best restaurants we found were within walking distance from […] hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. For example, when I couldn't get my phone charger to work in the room, the front desk staff offered to let me plug my phone USB cord into the computer at the front desk. "Nice hotel in quiet location"
Friendly, helpful staff. Nice breakfast buffet. While the hotel describes the rooms as air conditioned, this is only partially true. The AC plant is turned on/off based on outside temperature. At night, when the outside temperature is cool, the AC is turned off. So, one has to open the bedroom window in the middle of the night. This would be OK, if […] there is a breeze. On the nights I was there, there was none, so the room was uncomfortable by morning and stayed so until mid-day when the AC system was turned on again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"2 nights in Rome"
We were at the end of our vacation and decided to stay in Rome at the Londra - located about 15 minutes fom the Spanish Steps and the Trvi Fountain, the hotel is clean and modern and offers a number of amenities. The area around teh hotel is more residential, though it is not far from some of the more touristy and nosier areas. Dining around the hotel […] is wonderful (find the smaller local tratorrias) and you will have a blast.Good value for the money - the only problem we had was a noisy AC unit in the room that did not do a vry good job of keeping it cool (opeing the window worked better) but all in all a nice way to complete our tour of Italy Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Nice hotel in the middle of a quiet street. Professional and guest centred staff. Needs a bit of refurbishment though. Average size rooms which is understandable. Wi fi connection was poor. Very soft bed mattressGenuine Expedia guest review

Very Nice hotel in a somewhat quite area, I would rate it as a 4 star. About 10 blocks from main train station, a little far but walkable. Lots of people walking the distance with their suitcases as there are many hotels in the area. Room size about average for Europe. Hotel is clean and has a good complimentary Breakfast. Londra & Cargill is a wonderful, clean, and quiet hotel. While the location wasn't the most convenient to the major tourist sites in Rome, it is about a 10-12 minute walk from two metro stations and a 15 minute walk from the Termini (Rome's central train station). The bed was firm, and the room was large and comfortable. The breakfast that was provided […] included cereal, pastries, meats, cheeses, and juices. "Great service, amazing breakfast"
This hotel was a really pleasant surprise. Even though the hotel is not that close to the Colosseum, Vatican and other main attractions, it is close to the Spanish Steps, Fontana di Trevi and the Termini train station. Since in Rome nothing is actually that far apart you can easily walk your way around without getting a train, so the location here is […] not a problem, specially if you want to enjoy a side of the town that is not that busy. The service is really good and the staff is super friendly and helpful. They offer complimentary internet and breakfast. Their breakfast by the way is amazing. No bacon, eggs and sausage... they have the real european deal, a lot of pastries, hams, cheese, breads and other goodies. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The Londra & Cargill is a superb small hotel in an excellent location. Staff were extremely helpful The morning breakfast buffet is very good, especially the possibility of getting expresso. "Nice hotel, shame about the internet"
The hotel is ideally suited for walking to many of the major attractions. But....and for me personally this is a big deal, the internet service is simply appalling. Their idea of 'high speed' is anything faster than the written word. Simply awful. Even the guest computer in the lobby was snail pace. the only time the net worked with reasonable speed […] was at 3 in the morning, when of course nobody else was using it. "Great hotel with a good breakfast."
Super friendly staff and clean. The breakfast at 7am is good with pastries, fruit, yogurt, a few different types of salami and ham, hard boiled eggs. Best of all, a waiter immediately asks you if you want coffee or cappuccino. You can have a classic Italian breakfast of a sugar-coated, chocolate-filled croissant and cappuccino.Genuine Expedia guest review
"More than expected"
This was the largest room we have ever gotten in Europe for anywhere near the price. We had a king-sized bed, flat screen TV, sofa, 2 chairs, and a desk. Also included a lovely walk-in closet with safe, and a large, very modern bathroom with bathtub and bidet. Air conditioning worked well. The lobby was pleasant and welcoming. The included breakfast […] buffet was well stocked and very complete and the service attentive. The hotel is slightly out-of-the-way, but near restaurants and shops. An excellent value for Rome. "Nice, quiet, friendly hotel with great breakfast"
I stayed here in September which is still busy season. I got a great rate through Expedia, and it includes a superb breakfast, and free wi-fi. Location wise, it's about a 20 minute walk (southward) to the Spanish Steps or the Trevi Fountain. It's in a quiet neighborhood which was nice. The closest Metro station is Barberini. It's also close to the US […] Embassy. The room was nicely furnished with a big bathroom. The bed was softer on one side so I slept on the other. The carpet in my room was clean but worn and should be replaced soon. Towels and sheets were excellent. Chairs were comfortable; desk was small but functional; nice size closet, safe, and a mini fridge round out the furnishing.. One word of warning. I stayed in a room on Floor 1 (remember, in Europe ground floor is Floor 0) while my colleague stayed in the room 2 floors above mine. To our surprise, my colleague's room was smaller and the layout was different. We both paid the same exact price so there is variability. My room came with a special key to activate the electricity. It seems strange but it works just fine. Also, you're supposed to leave the key at the desk when you leave the premise. It's a safety feature so someone doesn't pickpocket your keys when you're doing the tourist thing and slip into your room while you're out. I like it. All the staff I spoke to spoke English well. Overall, I highly recommend the Hotel Londra & Cargill. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very accommodating staff"
We were scheduled at Londra & Cargill after Hotels.com made a mistake and cancelled our previous reservation at a different hotel. We didn't know anything about it except that there would be a room and a bed available on a day's notice. We were very pleased by the hotel, staff, and room itself. The only downside was the location. We thought it was much […] farther to the sites than advertised and required walking a long way or talking taxis. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
