"Nice hotel, shame about the internet"
The hotel is ideally suited for walking to many of the major attractions. But....and for me personally this is a big deal, the internet service is simply appalling. Their idea of 'high speed' is anything faster than the written word. Simply awful. Even the guest computer in the lobby was snail pace. the only time the net worked with reasonable speed […] was at 3 in the morning, when of course nobody else was using it. The management needs to upgrade their service and buy more bandwidth, simply inexcusable for a 4 star hotel in the middle of Rome. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay in Rome!"
I traveled with my boyfriend and stayed at this hotel for two weeks. It was nice having this place to come back each day after walking all day around Rome. Nice quiet location within walking distance of most everything you need. Some very nice restaurants in the area. Breakfast Buffett was good. Comfortable bar for a late night drinkGenuine Expedia guest review
"Last stop on 25th anniversary Europe trip."
The staff was very courteous. Breakfast buffet had many options but you should not expect American style breakfast. We found a nice restaurant nearby and also a grocery store with prepared foods, sandwiches and a nice selection of breads, meats, cheeses, wine and desserts. A 10 minute walk to Bernini subway station.Genuine Expedia guest review

This hotel was lovely, the staff extremely pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfast was delicious.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, conveniently located."
Excellent staff, particularly fron desk who are very helpful. Room could do with some more amenities. Location is excellent, close enough to central town, yet quiet neighborhood with great restaurants nearby.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel with a good breakfast."
Super friendly staff and clean. The breakfast at 7am is good with pastries, fruit, yogurt, a few different types of salami and ham, hard boiled eggs. Best of all, a waiter immediately asks you if you want coffee or cappuccino. You can have a classic Italian breakfast of a sugar-coated, chocolate-filled croissant and cappuccino.Genuine Expedia guest review
"More than expected"
This was the largest room we have ever gotten in Europe for anywhere near the price. We had a king-sized bed, flat screen TV, sofa, 2 chairs, and a desk. Also included a lovely walk-in closet with safe, and a large, very modern bathroom with bathtub and bidet. Air conditioning worked well. The lobby was pleasant and welcoming. The included breakfast […] buffet was well stocked and very complete and the service attentive. The hotel is slightly out-of-the-way, but near restaurants and shops. An excellent value for Rome. "Nice, quiet, friendly hotel with great breakfast"
I stayed here in September which is still busy season. I got a great rate through Expedia, and it includes a superb breakfast, and free wi-fi. Location wise, it's about a 20 minute walk (southward) to the Spanish Steps or the Trevi Fountain. It's in a quiet neighborhood which was nice. The closest Metro station is Barberini. It's also close to the US […] Embassy. The room was nicely furnished with a big bathroom. The bed was softer on one side so I slept on the other. The carpet in my room was clean but worn and should be replaced soon. Towels and sheets were excellent. Chairs were comfortable; desk was small but functional; nice size closet, safe, and a mini fridge round out the furnishing.. One word of warning. I stayed in a room on Floor 1 (remember, in Europe ground floor is Floor 0) while my colleague stayed in the room 2 floors above mine. To our surprise, my colleague's room was smaller and the layout was different. We both paid the same exact price so there is variability. My room came with a special key to activate the electricity. It seems strange but it works just fine. Also, you're supposed to leave the key at the desk when you leave the premise. It's a safety feature so someone doesn't pickpocket your keys when you're doing the tourist thing and slip into your room while you're out. I like it. All the staff I spoke to spoke English well. Overall, I highly recommend the Hotel Londra & Cargill. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very accommodating staff"
We were scheduled at Londra & Cargill after Hotels.com made a mistake and cancelled our previous reservation at a different hotel. We didn't know anything about it except that there would be a room and a bed available on a day's notice. We were very pleased by the hotel, staff, and room itself. The only downside was the location. We thought it was much […] farther to the sites than advertised and required walking a long way or talking taxis. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay"
This is a first class hotel. Everything about the place sings service. The room was a nice size, the king bed comfortable, the morning breakfast was beautifully displayed and plentiful. The wait staff has the breakfast items comstantly refilled so that whatever time you arrive to breakfast you have a full compliment of food items available to you. The […] bathroom was beautiful. I would definely recommend this place. The location is in a quite location away from the madding crowds which you will see around the tourist area of the city. Restaurants in the area are reasonably priced. The hotel will gladly give you recommendations on this count. The last evening we went to a the restaurant "44" it's not a local typical place but the meal was wonderful. They start by serving complimentary champagne what a great start, in my opnion. The price was reasonable for the quality of food, good portion size too. There are many other local restaurants within a few minutes walk, traditional Italian at reasonable prices. Try the gelato shop across the street too. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A perfect stay in Rome!"
This is a terrific hotel ... the room was very nice and clean. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. The breakfast was excellent (nothing too fancy but all fresh and a good selection. The location of this hotel is fantastic for being a little more east of Central Rome but close to Villa Borgese and nice proximity to Termini Station. We walked […] to all sites from their including Vatican City, the Coloseum, Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain. Some great restaurants right there in the neighborhood (make to to try Restaurant 44 a couple block away). All in all ... great location ... terrific hotel, very nice staff. "Great room and location"
We loved the hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. The surrounding neighborhood was great. It is full of wonderful restaurants for low prices, we highly recommend "44". "Around the clock assistance"
The staff was friendly and always happy to provide us with the information that we required. They helped us get tickets for the tour bus and booked our dinner at restaurants. They even packed our breakfast as we were leaving before breakfast time.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A nice hotel and ok staff relative to Rome's"
Nice hotel, but a little far from the main attraction, within walking distance though. The breakfast was a big plus, and the neighborhood felt safe away from the middle of the hustle and bustle around the Central Station. Don't forget to visit the authentic restaurants and gelatoarias around this hotel (specially Caruso’s around the corner).Genuine Expedia guest review

"A quiet Retreat"
From Check-in to Check-out the staff was friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed talking with the bartender Pavio. The building is clean and well maintained. "Clean Hotel, Off the Beaten Path"
The most important thing to me about a hotel is its' cleanliness. I was very happy with how clean everything seemed and I was able to sleep comfortably because of that. I thought that the room's size was decent for 2 people but if you had more than that in the room it would have felt crowded. I did not hear any other guests our entire stay. We were […] on the first floor and had a window overlooking a typical road but you could completely open the window and we just loved that. The hotel is somewhat off the beaten path; there were never any crowds or busy times of day around the area but there is a bus stop about a 5 minute walk away. The free breakfast was absolutely amazing!! Every night my husband would say that he couldn't wait until breakfast in the morning. The only negative to the hotel was that the hair blow dryer in our room barely had any power at all and I was depending on that blow dryer as I did not bring my own. By barely any power, I mean it took just as long to air dry my hair as it would have to blow dry it. I am not sure if the blow dryer in the other rooms have this same problem. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for a couple or single individual that doesn't mind walking and doesn't need to hair dryer. :) Next time we go to Rome we plan on trying out a different area to stay in but if that doesn't work out, I would be glad to return to Londra & Cargill. "Great hotel, great value, great experience."
Great location near termini train station. Easy to get to transportation, bus, etc. Staff was super. Crisp, PRESSED sheets daily and immaculately clean, large room (for Europe) with both tub/shower, and bidet. Entire hotel was spotless. Be sure to spend the extra for breakfast. Wonderful pastries, fruit and endless coffee. Staff in the small bar were […] especially nice. Free use of lobby computer was nice also, although dial up speed was slow. Amazing value for price. We were pleasantly surprised to have such a lovely stay at the Hotel Londra. The rooms and hotel have central air conditioning and the rooms are very comfortable with very friendly and helpful staff. The staff at check in was not very friendly. Breakfast was average. No eggs. Charged 7euros for one order of eggs. We made a toll free call to our credit card; they charged us 13 euros. "Nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood"
The staff at this hotel was very friendly and helpful. Our triples were much bigger than expected for a European hotel and rates were reasonable. "Great place to stay when on a Roman Holiday!!"
Just got home from a stay in Rome at this wonderful hotel. It is located in a very nice area of Rome and we found the staff and accommodations outstanding! Located in a nicer area of town, walking distance from everything. We arrived early, about 1130 am but the staff had our room avail before noon . The room is nice sized for European standards and […] bathroom was large with even a bathtub! We received a tour map from the staff and recommendations of sites to see and out we headed on foot. We covered a majority of the sites we wanted to see in 8 hours, easily finding our way around. Being in our 50's-60's, we were very comfortable walking around town on our first time in Rome. Breakfast was great, nice assortment of breads, cheese, meats, cereals, yogurts, cakes, tarts, juices and 2 types of fruit set out each morning. Coffee, tea and cappuccino's also avail upon request. Staff was able to set us up with some tours and arranged transport to the airport. Will stay there again if we have another chance to go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Gotta tip the staff!"
The hotel was very nice. The staff at the reception desk became rude and condecending when we did not tip for information. The maid withheld soap, toilet tissue, and cleaning the bathroom when we did not leave a tip the first few days. In other words tipping was MANDATORY in order to receive any service. Otherwise it was a nice 4-star hotel. The maid […] stole my husband's wallet from our room and when I reported it I was brushed off. When we got home I called and reported it to the manager who proceeded to yell at me and berate me until I told him we wanted nothing from the hotel. He then calmed down but I felt he could have handled the situation more professionally. He did not believe me and basically accused me of lying. Not cool. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Great Place to Stay In Rome"
This is a superb hotel located at the top of the Veneto neighborhood, about a fifteen minute walk to the Spanish Steps and a ten minute walk to Piazza Barberini. We enjoyed being uptown and far from the madding crowd for a change. The neighborhood is very quiet, and we felt very safe walking around at night. The hotel is also very close to the Villa […] Borghese, which is nice for a relaxing stroll. The room was roomy, quiet, and very clean. The staff was extremely gracious and helpful. Everyone, including the porters and the chambermaids, greeted us with a friendly "buon giorno" or "buona sera." The front desk was very helpful with dinner reservations, dinner suggestions, directions, taxis around town and car service to the airport, change for a fifty, and anything else we needed. The breakfast was great, with a vast array of pastries, cereals, meats, yoghurts, and fruit. The cappuccini were especially delicious. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was decent, but the beds were not very comfortable (we found this to be common in Italy though). The staff was helpful with directions and making dinner reservations. "A Haven in the center of Rome"
Six of us stayed in three rooms, all very comfortable and quiet, yet in the center of Rome, and at at reasonable rates. "Clean and Spacious"
While the rooms were warm, clean and spacious, the front desk staff appeared Parisian in their approach to consumers. The hotel is somewhat removed from the center of Rome so you will need to do alot of walking to the nearest Metro station; however, the trade off is that the neighborhood is quiet and safe. "Great hotel well-located Great staff"
We just spent our honeymoon at this fine hotel and I cannot say enough about the wonderful customer service. We had looked at many hotels and picked this hotel based on Trip Advisor etc.Really, I cannot begin to express the cooperation and extra effort the staff put out. From making sure we had box breakfasts if we had an early morning tour to helping […] us find our way around to calling cabs and just plain old fashion courtesy kindness. Thank you Patrick, Simoney, Fabio and the rest of the staff! Even the night porter who would put up with me requesting hot water for tea several times in the late late hours of the night to the wee hours of the morning even when it was the same night (due to my personal insomnia)...always a smile. I never felt as though any request could not be handled or was a bother to anyone. The room was neat, clean, well-kept and the service staff was wonderful. Thank you Hotel Londra & Cargill for a superb time and making my bride's first time to Eurpoe perfection! This is from someone who spends 175 to 200 nights a year in hotels due to my occupation. "Great Hotel, Great Holiday!"
I highly recommend this hotel! We stayed for 6 days and everything for us was wonderful. I looked for something negative to say and couldn't find it. Service is great at the front desk (very helpful), bar and breakfast area. My wife is a clean freak and she was overly impressed with the house keeping service and their punctuality. Yet we never saw them. […] They were ninja like! Only a good location if you would rather to be in the middle of all the activity in Rome.
