The rooms have a nice layout, but they smell and the blinds were dirty! When you stay in an hotel you should not have to pay for parking. Never have, never will again. Least to say I won't be visiting this establishment again.

Location was not easy to find in my Gps. Room was clean and spacious. Parking was free. Bathroom sink was backing up. Shower water was not even warm. We could smell neighbors cooking.

This is our fist time to use this hotel. I like the design of the hotel which has no air condition noise. The locaion is great and the service is good. The front desk is very helpful. However, there are some smoking areas; also there is no breakfast in the hotel nor nearby.

The hotel it self was nice and the location was in a nice niegborhood. I also liked the fact that it was very closet to a shopping center. The rooms were well equiped I really liked the setup. I did have problems with the staff cleaning the room. When I first asked for my room to be cleaned I was told I needed to request it the day before so I had a […] lot of dirty towels in the room and requested a clean up for the next day of stay. Well house keeping came to just empty the trash and give us a change of towels and when I went down to the front desk I was told I needed to ask for a full clean up and they put in for a parshal clean up. I felt that was a little odd because normally hotels change your sheets, vacuum, take out your trash and mop up the bathroom everyday unless you request for them not to do it. Excellent start with check-in. Check -out was a different story ! A guy came out with bloodshot eyes at 6:05 A.M. and told me the shuttle left at 6:30 to Airport and I said I would like to check-out and he said a girl would be here shortly.......We left on the 6:30 shuttle and Never saw a girl nor ever got a closing reciept or invoice. Im not picky when it comes to hotel. Very clean. Lots of space. But no printer and fitness gym. Thats the only things i think must have for a hotel like this size. Overall is good.

Room was mis-booked by Hotels.com as smoking, but the staff fixed that. Rooms are more spacious than you would expect for NY. Don't be scared away by the tiny, dirty lobby: the rest of the hotel is OK. Location is good, but hard to get into with your GPS, as it is RIGHT off of the expressway. I'd stay there again.

Added cost for parking at $20/day was a surprise! Also that the cost for a late checkout at $20/hour! Beware of possible additional costs in the fine print! The only soda/water machine in the hotel was out of order with no other bottled water available from the front desk.

Checkout time is 11am, however, I had an emergency which didn't permit me to make that deadline. I was on the way back to the room from handling some emergency personal issues when i received a call from the person i was rooming with, who said she was called several times to rush us out. She already called the front desk and said that we will not make […] checkout time and we agreed to pay the $20 charge. I was then told they tried using a card I did not authorize to bill me the $20 and when it didn't work I had to be at the front desk in a specific amout of time. I understand the checkout rule, but we were already charges the late fee so to make us feel so unwelcomed and rushed started giving me anxiety. Everone was so nice. I needed help with the wifi and the guy at the front desk was so nice. I brung my computer to him and he set it up himself. Checking out was so simple. When I checked out, Ana at the front desk made things simple. Ana was a delight.

This hotel is a joke. Amazing how new and neat it looks from the outside but looking like a family tier II building. I was charged $10.00 per day to park my car in their lot. I saw company/business vehicles (trucks and vans) parked in their lot. I wonder if they were given a better rate. What they call a Queen size bed has a lot to be desired. I have […] a full size bed that rises higher than what they offered and much more comfortable. We asked for a non-smoking room and they put us in a smoking room. Meanwhile I seen other boarders smoking outside because they were given a non-smoking room. Furthermore, the power to the TV was off and the phone in my room was out of order. I thought what if I had to make an emergeny call to a report a fire or needing police. The woman at the front desk said she couldn't do anyting about it until her manger arrives in the morning. But a fire safety personnel was on the premise (thank the lord) and confirmed that the phone line was dead and permitted us to relocate to another room. Guess what, a non-smoking room at that. Same small Queen size bed. At least the smell of ashes and stale smoke was gone. I kept it cool and dealt with it for three days. Glad to leave. Would I book here again? - For the price I paid? No. However, they should give us a free night...at another hotel. Read more

Great hotel for guests with a car. No public transportation nearby, but it is right off the Whitestone Expwy, and a mile or so from the village of Whitestone which has restaurants, a diner, a drug store, a supermarket, etc etc. It is also close to a small shopping center on Parsons Blvd., which also has a supermarket, and there are more stores on Union […] St. Only "complaints"-room came with only two pillows and one bar of soap, and we had to call the desk and go pick up more, but that was really quick and easy. The other complaint-I hate forced hot air heat, it seems so hard to regulate the temperature and it is so dry. Other than that-20 minutes to Manhattan by car and easy access to many, many stores within a mile or so make this a good location. Read more

The staff was very friendly and the room was quite clean. The only hitch was that I had to pay extra for parking. But what more than made for that was the fact that the room actually had a refrigerator, microwave and stove. This was great. On the not so good side was the fact that the tv size was quite small. Other than that, it was great.

Airport shuttle doesn't start running until 8am, seems pretty late, and not consistent with accepted industry standard. Most airport hotel shuttles are either 24 hours or start very early in the morning. Also, found items under the bed. For the check-in on 02/18/2011, all went well except for the man at the front desk complaining that his room had not been cleaned in 2 days and the receptionist who thought it was good customer service to argue with him about it while she was checking me in. Additionally, the first night we were there, 02/18/2011, the heat did not work and no one answered […] the phone at the front desk. It was working in the room we checked into on 02/26/2011. Although this time the receptionist gave me a hard time about checking in for my father even though the room was paid for on my credit card. Same receptionist both times. We booked this hotel last minute through an agent after missing our flight at JFK. It was the closest hotel available that accepted dogs so we had to take it even though it was still 9+miles away. The staff was very helpful and friendly but the room was sub-par. When we walked into the room we were overwhelmed by a strong smell of urine which was obviously […] coming from the bathroom area. Everything looked fairly clean but the smell was definitely very noticeable. This hotel was bare bones, only soap in the bathroom, no other basic toiletries. When you flushed the toilet, the spray was so powerful that it left water all over the seat/floor area. The decor and tv were very dated as was the heating system which took 10 minutes to warm up. My 4 yr old daughter found a pack of cigarettes under the bed, obviously left behind by a former guest, so I don't think the cleaning staff was very thorough. The location is convenient, just off the freeway and within walking distance of Starbucks, Target, etc. Overall I would not recommend this hotel unless as in our case it is a last resort or you need a place that accomodates pets. This hotel was very overpriced for what it was. We ended up paying extra for a 3 hr late checkout because our flight did not leave until 7 the next day. Read more
