"Visa card not accepted"
No soap and shampoo were supplied everyday. The flight check in paper was not printed. Visa card (only cash) was not accepted for Rome tax when we left at which time we have not enough euro cash to pay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Will not recommend this hotel"
The room was so hot and the you can hear the noise from the outside. There was no internet service on the 3rd floor, receptionist not too friendly. Room was small and tiny bathrooms i can barely fit in it!! You can find a better hotel in the Termini which is close to everything at the same rate!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Place to Stay"
The staff were very helpful in guiding us to different sites, advising us, with breakfast and coffee and in arranging our Taxi to the Air Port. Thank you!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel with charm"
The hotel was very nice, the staff and service excellent. The rooms were very small, and we could have used some drawer space. However, It was clean and well kept, the breakfasts were good and the hotel did have some charm with their interesting artwork. Just be prepared to walk a bit to reach any kind of transportation. One advantage was that the area […] was very quiet at night. We would go back there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Location / Knowledgeable Staff"
Absolutely thrilled with the location since we were a short walk to a pick up location for Termini Station - main hub for all transportation throughout Rome. And to make the hotel even better, the staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. She helped us get all around town with little secrets of where to eat. Would defiantly recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel very small rooms"
Beautiful boutique hotel far away from center , very small roomsGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great weekend in Rome"
Wonderful little boutique hotel in quite location. Short walk to the major attractions (Coliseum, Palatine Hill, Forum etc etc). Loved the art work in throughout the hotel Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Room was on the smaller size, but it worked fine. Internet service was reliable. Breakfast was plentiful. Being a small boutique meant […] the staff knew you and that was nice after all the big faceless hotels we have stayed in! Enjoy the trip, we would definitely go back. (while you are in the neighborhood, I would highly recommend Trattoria Pizzeria Porta Maggiore (Piazza di Porta Maggiore, 14, 00185 Rome, Ph 067027815) – great little local café – no one spoke much English, everyone was a local and the food and wine were terrific and inexpensive – what an experience) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Bugs/Mosquitos in room"
hotel was DEFINITELY not 4 stars!! The amenities provided was not what the other 4stars hotels i stayed in (Florence, Venice) had. Worst of all, there are alot of bugs/mosquitoes so we had no sleep during our 4 nights there. We left with at least 10 bites each.. Bring bug repellent with you if you are given this "4 Star hotel in the center of Rome" […] deal with Expedia Secret Hotel option.. this is not in the center of Rome by the way! "Not a 4-star"
Booked this through Expedia "Unpublished Rates". Not a chance this is a 4-star hotel - It may have received 4/5 on trip advisor (not sure how) but that's about it. Room was old. Everytime we took a shower it leaked all over the floor. Everytime we turned on the sink it also leaked. The hand towel rack was hanging on by what looked like wire. The cabinet […] that the t.v. was on looked like it may fall apart. There were no drawers so you couldn't really unpack your stuff. The comforter on the bed was the thickness of a sheet - with no extra blanket (good luck if you're staying through the winter months). The bathroom had a pedistal sink and no space to put anything. The a/c broke halfway through our stay. Breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about - Nice that it was included. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Your best bet would be to pick a 2 or 3 star hotel and save some money - the quality would be the same. Still had a great time in Rome as I would not let a hotel ruin my stay. "Extremely dissatisfied. Should NEVER have been rated 4 stars!!"
Bathroom smelled of raw sewage. Had to keep door closed in order to sleep. Mildew buildup around edge of bathtub at wall and on bottom of shower curtain where it was continually hanging in the wet tub. Very nasty!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Despite not living up to 4 star rating"
For a four star hotel, one would expect certain ammenitites, pool to name just one. How about glasses in my room or a working air conditioner. Despite all that negative mumble jumble, the staff was extremely friendly and informative. The breakfast was the best one I have had in Italy in the 3 weeks I've been here and the location was convenient if […] you don't mind a subway ride Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best Hotel For Entire Italy Trip"
My wife and I both agree that this was the best hotel from our entire trip throughout Italy. You can tell it was recently updated. Breakfast was great. Just a 5 minute walk from the metro. Hotel staff was very curtious and friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is in a good location, and not a long walk from metro. the staff is extremely helpful and courteous!! The only demerit we would add is one common to European hotels, which is not a great mattress. Otherwise, the place is clean, convenient, and enhanced with a great breakfast in the morning.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Would use different hotel next time"
Not as close as I had hoped to major sites. Hotel staff was just ok. Supplies in bathroom were minimal. Airconditioner was not cold. Bed was not comfortable, pillows were flat. No balcony. On the good side, bath had hot water, hotel entry was nice, continental breakfast was not terrible.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Emona Aquaductus"
Interestingly enough, none of the taxis I took during my stay knew of this hotel by name. Easy enough, I told them the address and they knew instantly how to get there. The price was good, nice room and overall service was great. Very helpful staff and wonderful to talk to. The only issues I had were ... Frist, the hair dryer sucked. Bring your own […] or be prepared to buy one. Second, ask specifically for a room that does NOT border the courtyard. After a long day of touring Rome, you are guaranteed to have some loud mouth below your window yacking all night. It's not the hotels fault people want to get drunk. And after complaining each time they told them to be quiet. Again, great service from the staff but tourists are tourists. Save yourself the trouble and get a non-courtyard side room. Third, the hotel contracts with a tour company for various tours throughout Italy. They have brochures at the entrance. I do not recommend specifically the bus tours. The bus tours are a racket and they price-gouge you on drinks when they stop for bathroom breaks and lunch. If you do go on a bus tour, bring your own water for the whole day and possibly food. Good area, cheap mini-market close by for decent priced food and drinks (Soda and 2 Liter Water). G.Fassi Gelato is on 63 Principe Phillip (I think). And decently priced pizza in the area. "Not the best..."
I've stayed in worse...that's about the nicest thing I can say. The surrounding neighborhood is a dump, there was black mold all over our wall and AC vent, half the staff was friendly/half jerks. It was livable and we made it work, but it just wasn't quite as advertised. "A few feet" from the metra stop is actually a couple of blocks, which would be […] fine...if the stop wasn't closed for construction. Our window overlooked a lovely homeless gentleman that slept under the aqueduct every night. I wouldn't be as upset if it weren't for the cost...this was simply not worth the money - I could tolerate it more it were half the price. For this money, there has to be better....don't buy into the pics. Only use as a last resort. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ideal Quite Location"
This hotel was in a nice quite suburb but near to the metro (5 min walk) and the railway station (15 min walk). The breakfast was good, buffet with lots of choice. The public areas were nicely decorated and the outside patio was great to relax and have a drink. After a long day sightseeing it was great to be in a quite environment.Genuine Expedia guest review

good location - 5 minutes from metro, supermarket, restaurants. Hotel is stunning - lots of funky artwork, patio seating area, clean rooms. Staff are very polite and helpful. Breakfast - lots of choice.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Lovely Courtyard, Great Staff"
Very friendly welcome on arrival. Room was fine. Location was OK, tram nearby and metro a short walk. Would return if visiting Roma again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Emona, 3 nights stay"
Having arrived mid afternoon, we checked in without any fuss but were told about the 'city tax' which costs 2-3 euros per person per night depending on your rated hotel. This wasn't explained to us upon booking but maybe that's our fault for not checking. The staff were friendly enough, ordering taxis when needed and even phoning a shop to see if it […] was open. The hotel class itself as 4 star but personally I think it's a 3.5 tops. Breakfast is a continental style but they did put on bacon and eggs too which is always nice. Note, there are no local shopping, bars and only one restaurant so a trip on the metro is needed, but then, the whole city is spread out over a few miles squared. If you intend to see the sights, always always always get a guide and if you find one called Alex with an English accent, he's brilliant Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, good location for metro."
We found the hotel staff to be courteous. Hotel & room was clean. Breakfast was more than adequate with continental & hot options, plenty of choice & all very fresh. Some mornings we arrived down later for breakfast but we found that the supply of food was always replenished.Genuine Expedia guest review
definitely not a 4* hotel but as for Rome and the price it was all good. Clean and much more than expected for £30/per night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Do not stay here! This is a 2 star B&B"
This is a 2 star B&B by North American standards. Rooms are tiny, beds are hard, comforters are padded bedskirts. We had plumbing issues in our room and water started dripping from the ceiling when the toilet flushed, water dripped onto lighting fixture. Room A/C also didn't work. We switched rooms and this room the hot water didn't work. Breakfast […] was below standard European breakfast. The juices had flies floating in them. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"not even close to 4 stars"
Very small. far from everything. no place to eat close.Genuine Expedia guest review
Trip for 4 days sightseeing, to visit the sights of ancient Rome. Very busy but most of the sites are within walking distance and easily accessible.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable hotel, good location"
The hotel is not far from the main centre of Rome, in a quiet pleasant area which is a soothing relief after a day of sightseeing. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. By the time I left I was already starting to think about when I might return. It looks good too - the winding path through fountains and trees, and inside there is a beautiful mixture […] of furnishing and pictures. The breakfast buffet is very good, with plenty to choose from. It is easy to get around by walking everywhere or, when you are completely exhausted, the Metro (Manzoni station, line A) is not far away and there are several buses and trams that stop nearby, at Porta Maggiore. "Mixture of really nice and somewhat scruffy"
Wonderfully helpful desk and breakfast staff. Lovely lobby and tranquil outside garden area to have wine or nice breakfast. Room surface cleaned each day but walls were very scuffed and shower needed regrouting. Room small but don't know if small rooms are usual in Rome. Metro 5 mins away had liftGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quaint hotel away from the city"
The hotel is a little away from the main attractions in the city but we didnt mind the short train ride or easy stroll (20 mins to city centre) each day. Hotel staff was friendly and approachable. The beds weren't very comfortable, we could feel the springs. Other than that we had a lovely time at the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quirky hotel near metro station"
Hotel is close to a metro station so easy to get around. Decor slightly quirky but clean and comfortable enough.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Little Hotel. No Real Complaints."
We got this hotel via Expedia unpublished hotel deal. We stayed here 3 nights and had 2 rooms booked. From the many negative review on TripAdvisor, we expected much worse. In reality this is a nice little hotel within walking distance to the metro and close to all of Rome's important attractions. I think the benefits of staying at this hotel more than […] outweigh the drawbacks. I do feel that a renovation, especially to the furnishings, would go a long way. The hotel is not quite on par with North American standards but no major complaints really. + Amazing buffet breakfast. Best we had in a European hotel. Eggs, toast, bacon, selection of salami, yogurts, freshly squeezed juices, and even bocconcini salad! This definitely made our stay! + The courtyard is just beautiful with the fountain and all the flowers. Makes for a very pleasant evening just sitting around with a bottle of red. + Useful and attentive staff. + Free for use computer downstairs with fast internet. + 5-10 minute walk to metro station. + Low price relative to many other hotels in the area. + Clean + Nice lobby and overall atmosphere - Small rooms - Old squeaky furniture, although the bed was still pretty comfy - A/C in one of the rooms did not work (trust me you want A/C in the summer) - Room safe is a joke (it's bolted to a removable shelf) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Lovely hotel, a bit out of the way but close enough on tram line to main train station/metro. Decent breakfast spread, charming rooms (bit dated decor, but clean). Two beds in a room are pushed together. Small, typical European shower. Clean hotel, good staff. A bit pricey but that's Rome. Fine for longer stays, couples, families etc. Beautiful setting, […] nice garden/courtyard. Safe area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Very nice boutique style hotel. Staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond on several occasions to help us. Breakfast was very nice. I would highly recommend this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
There was little water pressure in the shower making showering very difficult. This improved drastically on the last day and we were told that there had been a fault in the shower for the first 3 days of our stay. The hotel also did not provide tea and coffee making facilities or an iron. Whilst we were satisfied with the hotel in all other respects […] we do not believe that it was of the standard of a 4 star hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pleased with the staff, disappointed with the room"
I thought the service was fantastic - very knowledgeable and helpful owner/staff - but, the room I had was not comfortable, the floors were dirty, the electric blind did not work, so I had street lights beaming into my room all night, and the shower not only didn't drain, but the showerhead was broken. So, maybe it was just that room...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Basic but a good location"
The room was pretty basic and a little worn out. The bathroom wasn't super clean. That said there was AC, its in a pretty great location and the wifi was free. About a 20 - 30 min walk from the main train station and 10 minutes from the metro. You can easily walk to the colosseum in 25 minutes.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Emona Aquaeductus May 13"
We stayed at this hotel in May 2013 for a birthday weekend. It is true what people say that the double rooms are generally small but they are adequate and very clean. The bedroom was ensuite, the breakfast was a basic self serve continental but perfect for a base to explore Rome. I would recommend this as a reasonably priced bed and breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"ideal for a night or two"
Overall a nice hotel, rooms a bit small and noisy, but decor of hotel nice, very art-deco,breakfast was good, Andreas on the front desk very helpful, about a ten minute walk to collesuem, 5 minutes to subway, 10 to rail way station. overall good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, arty stuff and teapots"
Perfect location for visiting Rome - affordable enough for us and close enough to the city centre to walk in. Friendly, helpful staff who helped us with our orientation, a bit of Italian. There were even tea pots available for us English types at breakfast!! Loads of interesting artwork all over the place!Genuine Expedia guest review

We had read reviews previously posted and found that the hotel was better than suggested. The location as not in the best neighbourhood, so this was really the major disappointment.Genuine Expedia guest review
"We had a very enjoyable time in Rome."
The hotel was very pleasant with a very good ambiance. And breakfast. The beds were a bit old and creaky. There were very good places to eat in the neibourhood. We would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Not a bad place for the low price, but just OK. Well connected by tram and bus.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great hotel for a couple"
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The only thing we didn' enjoy very much was the breakfast it became very boring as it was the same items every day! Also as someone who hates the taste and smell of eggs it put me off having bacon because it was in the same tray as the egg. Also we had to use a towel on the outside floor in the bathroom because […] the silicone sealant had perished! Despite these things we had a very enjoyable week and would stay at this hotel again! "Quaint but no morning tea"
The hotel was a little of the beaten track from the termini and a direct walk took in some unsavoury areas with active prostitutes on corners. I would recommend metro to Manzoni then walk down Quintino to Statilla. Also not many eateries in location of hotel, again walk to Manzoni metro area to find reasonable eateries. There was no tea / coffee making […] facilities in the room which as a 4* rating should have been the norm. Breakfast buffet adequate, enough choice to sustain us for a days sightseeing. On the whole a very unusual and quaint hotel and would return to use again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pleasant Stay had at the Emona Aquaductus"
We stayed for three nights at this hotel in Feb. Everything was very good apart from the 3 euro city tax that is extra per person per night. The rooms are a little small but are well maintained and full of art works. In fact the entire hotel is packed with antiques which made it really interesting. It was a pleasure playing cards in the main lounge. […] The breakfasts are good with good service. The location at the tram terminus gives easy access to the sites. Local restaurants are limited but reasonable value. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A very unsatisfying stay!!"
The hotel was sold to us a 'secret hotel' next to the Central Rome train station (Roma Termini), but, it was a 7-10 minute tram ride or 15-20 minute walk from the station, which was not an auspicious start to our stay! Pro's: - A five minute walk to 'Manzoni' metro station on the B line, with a direct link to most major sights Con's: - Breakfast […] was very disappointing with barely any options and very insipid service. We had one person minding the buffet when there were about 20 guests at the tables, which resulted in most items vanishing from the buffet, never to return - The room's heating was a major problems with the thermostat stuck at one setting 'Very hot'.. We had to open both the windows in the room to get any sort of sleet (in December..)! - The water in the bathroom had a mind of its own, switching from hot to cold to hot again. - The hotel, though it claims to be a '4 star' hotel, had no business center/ printing facilities, which resulted in me having to go in search of an internet cafe for over an hour at 9 PM at night to book our voucher for the Vatican museum tour. - The internet in the room was a nightmare with the wifi signal being so weak, that we had to sit up in the bed and hold up the ipad get any signal on it and even when we did get a signal, the speeds were barely at a dial-up modem level. Rated four star, however i would say only 2 stars. Old mansion, converted into hotel with very very small rooms and badly decorated. Stale b'fast that is repeated day after day without any changes in the menu. Balcony rooms are most troubled due to street noise that doesnt die down even in late night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"OK stay but NOT 4*"
We booked this hotel under a 'secret deal' claiming 4 star design hotel. It is not worth 4 stars! I would say 3 stars. Rooms are very very small, barely any room each side of the bed, bathroom also very small. You could argue that in Rome you don't spend much time in the room, but even so, you could not swing a cat. Bed was hard and small (double). […] Worst thing to be honest was the noise from the road. Heavy traffic all the time and even with windows shut you can hear it quite clearly. Pleasant outdoor courtyard space. Interesting reception/downstairs, unusual art, quite liked it. Breakfast ok though scrambled eggs were always cold (could do with a candle or something under the silver tin/tray to keep warm)! Do ask for a latte macchiato or other type of coffee if you want it as kitchen staff oblige. Guy on front desk when I arrived rather surly and not very helpful! The other 2 staff on front desk quite pleasant. Overall ok stay but wouldn't go back, we'd look for something else preferably where we could sleep more comfortably with no noise!
