from the time we arrived until the time we left, the staff was gracious and accomodating. The only complaint is that there is floor that is half smoking and half non-smoking which is not even possible as the smoke really invades the carpeting and tile in hall way

This hotel is easy on/off I-85 near Anderson, SC and Clemson University. Rates are lower than in Greenville, SC which is about 30 minutes to the north. We were forced to stop for the night due to the weather and found this hotel. The staff were all very friendly. Our room was a normal, small hotel room but still had the many perks of an ironing board, refrigerator, hair dryer, etc. There was also free coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby around the clock, which I find extremely helpful and welcoming. […] There was also what looked like a cookie server there in the lobby, but the trays happened to be empty. The breakfast was sufficient and the cook was very friendly. The indoor pool was great - it was actually heated enough that I could slip right in and start playing with my kids - I didn't have to take forever inching my way into icy water! The swimming area was clean and there were fresh towels waiting there for us. My only two complaints are 1) it was storming so hard that we had some small leakage around our air conditioning/heating unit and the carpet was wet in about a 1 foot radius around the unit. 2) Due to the weather, we were cooped up in our room for the entire afternoon/evening and were only able to swim until the weather got really bad. It would have been helpful if there would have been a better KIDS selection for watching TV. The cable channels are junk, especially for kids, so it would have been helpful to have a better movie watching option. I travel a lot with my kids and my critique of a hotel includes how child-friendly they are. Overall, our stay was great and we would be fine to stay there again. Read more

This is a very nice hotel, however, there was one thing that was a big disappointment to us and the reason for a less than 5 rating. I had made reservations last April for this stay. My reservations were for three people with 2 queen beds. What we were given was one king size bed and a most uncomfortable pull out sofa which was not fit for an adult […] to sleep on. Suprisingly clean and comfortable. Beds are very nice and have those down comforters like the Westin hotels. The only problem we had was an alarm clock that went off next door around midnight. Took a few minutes for the manager to get up there and turn it off. Then someone checked into that same room about an hour later and was very noisy. They even […] tried to open the door between the two rooms and were talking very loudly. This was not the hotels fault but it certainly proved that there is not much sound proofing between the rooms. Everything was GREAT at the Country Inn and Suites in Anderson, South Carolina. The room was suitable to our needs and very clean, comfortable and relaxing. We traveled to SC for my step sons birthday, and this hotel was amazing!! :) The staff was very polite and helpful, (we accidently overslept and missed breakfast, and the lady in the cafeteria was very helpful even tho she didn't have to be) the hotel and the our room was very neat and clean. Chosen specifically for the hot, healthy breakfast and access to water, fruit, etc. anytime, this place was awful. I drank water from the bathroom faucet in a styrafoam coffee cup because the only other water was hooked up to the juice machine and it was turned off after breakfast. Gross. They have coffee, yes. Cookies, yes. Fruit and water, no. And […] at breakfast there was only bread products. No eggs or meat or dairy other than yogurt, no oatmeal and no fruit at all. After I explained that we chose the place specifically for the healthy breakfast, they did give me a certificate to use toward future stays. And the pillows were old and down and smelled like such. The general cleanliness was fine, but there was something on the phone receiver and the carpet was stained. The staff was very friendly and helpful, though. I'd rather have water and clean pillows. Sweet face nicest hotel. A upon checkin, please Dee was full of smiles and genuine kindness. She even let us know fresh cookies were almost done baking. Hotel was staffed well with courteous people. We needed a poet-a-crib brought up and the maintenance man even set it up..... pool was. Clsan and warm...great hotel experience!

we stayed here while visiting Clemson Univ over a busy football weekend, the hotels closest to CU were booked but this hotel was convenient, only about a 20 minute drive; hotel was nothing special but was fine, room was a good size and clean, included breakfast--hotel was right next to several chain restaurants and a small shopping ctr so those types […] of services were readily available. If you cant stay in Clemson itself, or dont want or need to, this is a solid alternative. Read more

I stayed there for a tennis tournament and it was convenient to dining and to the interstate, however, the bathroom had a funky smell (it dissipated when the bathroom door was shut). The hotel staff was nice, breakfast was OK, beds were clean & comfy--not a whole lot else you can ask for!

The best part of the stay was the bed with the three pillows. The bed was clean and very soft. I went to sleep right away and did not wake up until I received my wake up call. Had a very peaceful and restful night and was very rested when I awoke in the morning. I would stay at this hotel again.

There were painters and construction workers everywhere and the smell of new paint could not be escaped. The front page advertised indoor pool/whirlpool. There was no whirlpool, only a jacuzzi tub in the king suite. The clerks were not receptive at all and hardly spoke.
