"Spectacular views and awesome service"
This was our first time visiting Schweitzer Mtn. Resort and we stayed in the Selkirk Lodge. The rooms were spacious and well set up and the views of the mountain/valley were amazing. I was a little disappointed that there was no fridge/microwave in our room as advertised, but that's certainly not a deal breaker for me. Having good water pressure was […] a plus compared to many other hotels. The pool/hot tubs were located outside and were very enjoyable. The pool was fairly large and there are actually 3 hot tubs that fit about 6-8 comfortably. The staff was very friendly and courteous, and assisted us with everything we had questions about. The resort was very nice to stay at and had most of the things that we needed. Sandpoint is a relatively short drive and is full service if you don't want to stay up on the mountain for dining/lounge options. If I had one word of advice it would be to arrive during the day to aid in picking the right roads to follow (mainly during the winter season). There was still around 8'-10' of snow at the resort while we stayed which made it a little difficult to navigate around in the dark. Once you know where you are going it is very easy to make your way around. We will definitely return to Schweitzer Mtn. Resort Read more
"mountain getaway"
Incredible value for slope side accommodations. Breakfast buffet was only ok; could have varied selections.
super nice people at the front desk. clean and comfortable.
Everything was great except the pullout couch was not comfortable at all.
"Schweitzer Mountain Selkirk Lodge"
I stay at this lodge every year for the past 12 years. It is awesome and the people there are fantastic! Highly recommend it!

"Perfect View!"
Balcony overlooked the lifts and some of the clock tower. Small rooms, but well appointed & very comfy beds with memory pads! Heater was easy to use & shut off when toasty. Security kept the young adults quiet when necessary. Restaurants in the lodge were delicious and open! I would definately stay there again with my family.
"Dont stay here."
Went for our anniversary for a get away. Everything was closed. Front desk just said- oh yeah its off season. No where to eat, no hot tub, no pool. Snow blowers going loudly all night like a siren. Bed had a stiff mattress topper on it. Had to drive to town to get dinner. Brought back a bottle of wine. No corkscrew in room, called front desk- said she […] couldn't find one. Then she called back to say- yeah found one you can come pick it up. When I got down stairs I had to wait ten minutes while she put a label on it that said front desk! Wow really, like I wanted to keep this cheap plastic corkscrew. That was just so rude and disrespectful. Staff told us the restaurant would be open for breakfast so we counted on that. It was NOT.So we packed up and left the mountain at seven am. It appears to me this whole place is run by stoners who care nothing for customer service. Even saying hello to employees while walking outside they ignored us. Once upon a time this place had a friendly vibe-its gone. Dont waste your money, stay in town at Trinity's Edgewater beach house with a view of the lake and where the service is friendly and considerate. Very very disappointed. Read more
"Perfect"
The staff was very friendly & helpful. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in ever. Beautiful lodge.

"Fabulous!"
Attended a wedding on the mountain top. Lovely hotel in a ski resort in one of the garden spots on the planet - perfect!
"Schweitzer Mountain"
We stayed in the Selkirk lodge, very nice and comfortable beds. The only thing I wish is if they had a small fridge for leftover food and drinks. Other than that I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
"Schweitzer Mt. - Selkirk Lodge, Sandpoint Idaho"
Incredible view from up top. In my opinion too expensive for what you get. Too far of a drive from up top to downtown Sandpoint which was an interesting town. Clean room and not bad.
"Quiet summer get-away"
My husband and I went for a mid-week get-away and found it to be a quiet, pleasant place. There was only one place to eat in the "village" as everything is pretty much shut down in the off-season. Food was good. Room was large, nicely appointed and the tempur-pedic bed was heavenly. The pool area could use some work. It's beautiful, but the hot tub […] had debris in it and there was no skimmer to be found. The area around the pool could use work as well - paint on the trim, deck wash, etc., but it was still lovely. Definitely do the chair lift to the top - the views are spectacular. We hiked down and that was lots of fun, but wear sturdy shoes and invest in a $20 walking stick. It really helped. The wild flowers were more beautiful than any formal garden - worth the whole trip! We asked for a lake-facing deluxe room and they said none was available, yet the hotel was virtually empty - ours was the only car in the parking garage. That was confusing. We were on a lower floor, facing the back, one floor below the pool, so the view wasn't much - except that it was a green hillside and mountain - better than a parking lot. A great trip even with the little downers. Read more
"Ski Resort setting very very nice"
We enjoyed very much our stay at the resort. Hotel was very attractive along with all the stores and amenities. Views of the valley adn lake were spectacular. Mountain setting with the wildlife was very nice.
"Selkirk Lodge was a wonderful place to stay."
There are 7 switch backs up the mountain, but the stressful night drive was so worth the effort. The staff was especially kind and every effort was made to assure our comfort. I only wish we'd had more nights to spend there.

"SMR - A great place to stay!"
Everyone was so nice, the views are spectacular... lots to do.
"great place off season"
We visited this resort off season. It was great. Very relaxing and quiet. Rooms are huge and beds fabulous! Not all places are open off season but one restaurant and a pub were open and food was great! The view are spectacular. Check it out!
"careful"
went to hotel for end of season function, called ahead to ask about 5 lb. dog ,clerk said it was ok when we arrived the next one wanted us to sign no pet policy. really noisy above us,one cup of coffee in room,3 buks in the lobby.over priced hotel for what they offer.
"Great stay at the Selkirk!"
We had a lovely time at this hotel that's right on the ski hill. The bed, in particular, was extremely comfy - hard to get up in the morning, even for skiing powder! There was a power outage while we were there - a tree fell on the lines - but the hotel was very creative and accomodating of guests even in challending circumstances. Thumbs up for the […] Selkirk! "Much more than I expected"
My wife and I had never gone downhill skiing, so we loaded up our 2-year-old son and went to Schweitzer based only on a newspaper ad. Having spent three days here, I'll have to say this was the single best hotel experience of my life. Every single hotel staff member, from the checkout desk to the equipment rental staff to the ski instructors, seemed […] to honestly care whether or not we were comfortable and having a good time. Even though we were first-time skiers, and a bit intimidated by the whole thing, we were made to feel as if our stay was the most important thing on their minds. The room was altogether spotless, and the stairwell of the Selkirk Lodge was nicer and cleaner than most hotel lobbies I've seen at this price point. The gym was small but adequate, and the included breakfast was as good as anything I would have hoped to find if I had paid extra. While I can't speak much to the tall mountains--we didn't make it off the bunny hills, which were well-groomed--the place had everything one could want in a ski resort. My son stayed at the day care (Kindercamp) and the facility was nice, clean, large, and the staff was friendly. At $99 per day, the optional ski lessons/day care package is a deal for kids old enough to do it (4 and up). Given that this is just two hours from our home in Spokane, we plan to be their anytime the budget will allow. Best vacation ever. Read more
"Very Clean and Comfy"
My wife and I wanted to get away for the weekend and this was the perfect fit. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The staff was very pleasant. Hot tubs were hot but the heated pool was pretty cool. I was told that they run it hotter when the ski season starts. If you are a skier or boarder this sits right at the base of Schwietzer. The […] drive up to the lodge is one of the better mountain drives. Rates were fair and compared with hotels in town. Why stay in town when you can be on the mountain. Read more

"Up and out of the way!"
As long as you don’t mind hairpin turns up the side of the mountain. This has spectacular views and is worth the drive. We were glad to have the gps to help us find our way too. It is beautiful on the mountain and very quiet as it is the off season but still has lots you can do like hiking, mountain bike riding (they were having races while we were […] there), chairlift rides, horseback riding, and a little shopping. And lots of fresh air! Read more

"Selkirk Lodge at Schweitzer Mountain"
We had a wonderful visit to this hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel was clean and beautiful. Our bed was very comfortable and the pool and hot tub were very clean and nice. We would definitely visit again!
"Off the beaten path"
This property is a ski lodge - we visited during the off season, which is not their specialty. It is a long way from town and not many services, for example - you can't get coffee until 7:30am. However, it is very quiet and peaceful.

"A Deal"
Great accommodations at a great location. The lodge is super and amenities well done! You are a bit out of the way so be prepared to drive if you want to take advantage of anything not on the grounds.

Read more
