Make no mistake, you're NOT going to brag about this Red Roof Inn. It's a rundown motel, that only has its location and price in its favor. If you want a quiet and comfortable night of sleep, stay somewhere else. The heather was a ruckus, the blanket was as thin as the upper sheet, the bathroom was ultra tiny (and I'm not a big person), etc, etc.

This Hotel was a great price in a great location and I thought I knew what I was getting into. I expected it to be a no frills place that wasn't updated. It was that for sure and more. The bathroom was the worst: tile falling off wall, mold on tub, and the house keeping smoked in the room while cleaning it and ashed in the toilet. The bed was ok but there were no blankets other than a sheet. With all that said, I would probably stay here again because it is so cheap and I spend very little time in the room when I visit Chicago.

Let me start by saying that the staff members I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. I was very pleased with that part of my stay. The Hotel is old and could use some updating, but that was ok with me because the location was great. The not so good part was the condition of the room. The carpet was dirty with pieces of plastic packaging laying on it. The bathroom floor was diry and had a sticky substance on it. There were cobwebs and a dead spider hanging from the wall. The sheets were stained and the room had an odor. The cleaning staff needs to be retrained or let go as the lack of cleaning is unacceptable. I won't stay here again.

The bath had green rings around the tub drain and faucets had rust and green mildew.

I went down stairs to the front desk, told them about it and they said no one was on to clean the room. I feel that I should be adjusted for this stay. Please advise.

I stayed 8/14 and 8/15. Most of the employees were very nice. Arrived to my room (208); small and outdated. Wallpaper from the 70's and bedding was that of a building 19. Floors were filthy - I was afraid to take my socks off. Bathroom hadn't been swept - pubic hair on the floor and in the tub, dirt everywhere; toilet was yellow-urine-stained from lack of scrubbing. I found $1.65 on the floor and a package of rolling papers! Bureau had a broken drawer, floor lamp was broken. I could go on and on, BUT I was only sleeping there - that was my mantra to get me through. I had friends in another room and they moved because their room was dirty and the were actually downgraded. Then the kicker - a naked twenty-something boy/man running the halls. I reported it to an employee who responded "Ummm, I know nothing about that." That about sums it up. I would not recommend this hotel, nor will I return.

The room we got was TINY! Like dorm-room size. I could open up the dresser and it would almost hit the bed. Not only were the rooms tiny but the elevators were small also, and the workers use them to transport the rolling bins of dirty towels. I was fortunate to ride with one of these workers who stoped the elevator on a floor, hold the door and yell out into the hall to another worker. My friend and I looked at each other and were like 'oh my goodness' and I was trying to avoid being touched by a dirty wet towel. But on the other hand, we came back to the hotel one evening and couldn't get into our room because our key stopped working. Immediately we were let in by maintenance and she replaced our keys. So that was a very positive part. I wouldnt recommend this hotel, it was a great location, we could walk everywhere. But for the 4 of us in that room, we couldn't turn around without being in someone's way. So if you dont mind the stained sheets, tiny room, and occasional inconsiderate help, this is your hotel.

Next morning went to take a shower found crud in the drain of the tub including a screw, then the mount for the tolit paper roll fell off the wall. Reported this to the desk manger, left the hotel around 8:30 am, got back to the hotel around 8:00 pm. Nothing Had Been Done, other then putting the tolit role was back on the mount, but the mount was still hanging out of the god damn wall. The crud was still in the drain of the tub, the light was still out. 12 hours you think would have been enough to do more then that.
