"Off the beaten path gem"
Perfect hotel for a relaxing get-away. Awesome, friendly staff. The hotel was close enough to downtown, but felt like we were a world away from all the noise and congestion. We stopped here over-night on our way down to Dundee. We enjoyed early morning from our balcony room overlooking the river, walked the path along the Willamette and had amazing […] massages in the spa. My husband and I will definitely plan to come back and add an extra day or two to our trip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Excellent - Andrew at the Front Desk was terrific! Went above and beyond to answer questions, pro-actively printed out maps, etc. Just really what one would want!! Also, Zack went above and beyond. The Fellas at the Valet were great, too! Don't have their names. (ones who were on until 3pm).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Love this place!"
This is a great hotel - situated right on the river, quiet and well decorated. The best thing about this hotel is that it has a FULL spa and FULL work out gym. By full workout - I mean big like a Gold's gym with classes. It is really one of the best kept secrets out there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful view, super clean, friendly staff, bikes"
Had a great weekend getaway in Portland with my boyfriend, the staff was extremely hospitable and nice. Great experience, huge gym with all sorts of equipment, great bathrooms, bikes to rent, great price for location, loved it!Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff very nice and helpful. Amazing on-site restaurant. Free bike rental sealed the deal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Could have been amazing!"
Number one the spa was rather disappointing. No couples spa. We were awaken out of a dead sleep to be told we were being loud, thus we had been sleeping. ON the good side, Morning staff was amazingly friendly. They did give us a deal for our inconveniences which warranted the 4th star. All in all great experience, could have been amazing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay in Portland"
Enjoyed my time at this hotel. Man at front desk was very friendly and helpful. I had lots of questions for him, and he was very patient and informative. Told me great places to go based on what I was looking for, offered good directions, etc. Valets were very friendly and attentive. The spa was a nice place to unwind - you can use the facilities without […] requiring a treatment - steamroom, sauna, hot tub, etc. Nice location on the waterfront. It's not a central, downtown location so you're limited on what's nearby to walk to. But a couple blocks away, you can catch the trolley into town, not drive, and see the sites along the way. I would absolutely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Upgraded to riverfront room, the staff at this hotel could not have been better. Pleasant , helpful. The complimentary toiletries are excellent quality. Loads of towels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"On the waterfront"
It was our first but, surely not our last visit to Portland. We had heard so many good things about this city but, all paled to what we found in this wonderful city. The employees at the hotel and restaurant are first class ambassadors for the city. They were all friendly, out going and quite knowledgeable when it came to their city. From the moment […] we stepped on the premises it was as if we were among old time friends. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom sparkled. The towels and bed linens were five star quality. The water/fruit medley at the reception desk was always so good and refreshing. All the meals we had at their Aquariva Restaurant were exceptional. No complaints here. The chef is world class and the entire staff are polite, kind and know anything you want to know about the menu and city!!! I could go on about this hotel and it's staff but, it is definitely a must see hotel and restaurant. You cannot go wrong with Dan at the front desk, Brendan manning the door and sweet smiley Katrina at the restaurant. Please forgive me for not naming others but, I would recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone staying in Portland. It's location is south of the city but, if you enjoy walking thru cities or cycling thru them (bicycles free for daily rides at the hotel) this is the place for you. We can't wait to go back!!! "Quiet part of town, but close to Downtown"
Loved my stay at River's Edge. Friendly staff, free room upgrade, nice deck right next to the Willamette River. Only drawback, thin walls. But you can't have everything.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very cool place, great location"
We really enjoyed staying at the Rivers Edge. The room was very clean with updated bathroom and furniture. We really enjoyed the walking trail behind the hotel that is right along the river. Close to great restaurants and shopping!we will definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful location and close to the streetcar...so access is terrific to downtown Portland's various districts. Adjacent restaurant also very good in all respects. We will stay here again..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel on the river."
Enjoyed staying at this hotel where we could walk along the river. Not much of a neighborhood to stroll around in but very pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel on Willamette River"
My husband and I stayed at River's Edge for two nights. I chose the hotel because we were hoping to take the tram up to OHSU on Sunday and this hotel is close to the site (turns out the tram doesn't run on Sunday, so shame on me).The rooms aren't cheap, but it was a mini-vacation for us. The lobby is nice; the staff was very pleasant. They have bikes […] to rent for free, which my husband used to ride around the river trail one day. The room, however, wasn't really up to the level of the price. :-) No robes, which was a bummer, since I didn't pack mine. They take so much room, and usually hotels of this level have them available. The light switches in the room were weirdly placed and the hot water took forever to show up. Also, there wasn't much light in the main area and best view of the TV was from just one of the three chairs (which means you also couldn't see it well from the bed). Rooms need to be a little rearranged. All in all, it was okay, but I don't think we'll stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

great place to stay very friendly service very clean nice workout roomthe only thing I would have like to seen HD TVs in the rooms but overall great hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a very good hotel. The only deficiency is that the TVs are out of the 1980's. They need to give you the HD experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right on the river"
We really enjoyed our stay here. The balcony river view was lovely, as was our ride on the borrowed bikes from the lobby. Too bad the spa was all booked up & a bit noisy with a big group there for a retreat, but I did get my nails done & Margaret did a great job!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Short and Sour"
The hotel location was hard to find but that is because of Portland's Road System. Use your phone and you will get there. Hotel was fine, Valley is mandatory, but they lost our car keys the day we left at 3 am.. NOT fun and not a great way to end the vacation.. The did not clean our room by 3 o'clock when we got back on day two. Everyone in Portland […] seems out of it. Everyone is late, and nothing in Portland opens before 9am. Even on the weekends. Look into having breakfast ready in bar form if you want to eat. Homeless are abundant and being nice is the EXCEPTION to the rule.. I will not be going back unless forced and if forced I will not be staying at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful hotel/spa on the river, superb staff"
I don't know quite how to describe our experience at this boutique hotel and spa. When we arrived and handed over our car keys to the valet, it was as though we stepped out of today's frenzied world into a world far less hectic, crowded and noisy --- almost as though we'd gone back in time. This effect, I suppose, is due in part to the hotel's location, […] decor and grounds, but I reckon it is mostly due to the staff, who treated us as though we were the most important guests they had. The room was well kept and furnished and we enjoyed looking at the river through the greenery of the trees from our patio. The bed was so comfortable it took only minutes for us to fall asleep each night. The adjoining restaurant and bar, right on the river, had a lovely, quiet and unhurried atmosphere, unlike so many restaurants these days whose goal seems to be creating an atmosphere of a busy hip modern-day metropolitan restaurant. Regretfully, our schedule was such that I was not able to enjoy the Spa amenities and services. But next time I will. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel on South Waterfront"
Stayed here recently with my boyfriend. Overall, we thought the hotel was great. The front desk was very nice and accommodating and even upgraded our hillside view room to river view. Our room was fantastic! Clean and spacious. Loved the giant comfy bed and big bathroom. The only issue we had (although very minor) was that the television was pretty […] dated and most of the channels were showing in black & white, not color. We used the Spa and it was a nice bonus. The facilities could use a little updating though and there were no shower sandals available in the basket while I was there. We also went to the adjoining restaurant twice for breakfast. The service was great. We used the complimentary breakfast vouchers which was another bonus. The view of the Willamette was beautiful and the surrounding area was serene and nature-esque, albeit far from downtown and construction going on nearby. Otherwise, we would stay there again! "Wonderful Willamette River Stay!"
I wanted to stay on the Willamette River and this hotel met that requirement perfectly! Our room overlooked the River, there was a walking path along the River and the restaurant was also on the River. The valet made an excellent suggestion for dinner that we were able to walk to (part of it on the River). We were there just for the one night. I wished […] we had reservations for more than 1 night. However, it is wonderful to know that we have a location where we can stay next time we come to Oregon. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The staff could not have been more accommodating and pleasant. The location was relatively convenient for my business needs. The setting and view from the room was quite pleasing and relaxing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful river location; accommodating staff"
Although we were initially dissatisfied with non-river view and stains on the carpet, our experience turned positive when we were upgraded to a suite with plenty of space and partial river view. We especially commend the front desk staff and valets for their upbeat attitudes and service with a smile.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice river view"
We enjoyed the river view from our room, however there is little to no privacy on the balcony between rooms. The barriers on the balcony do not allow for discretion on the 2nd floor, at least. The gym and spa amenities are very nice at this location. There is minimal signage on the hotel, and even with valet service, it's difficult to determine where […] the front door is located upon arrival. The restaurant, Aquariva has some nice views as well and the breakfast coupons were much appreciated. The wine list is average at best. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"It was an ok hotel, pretty distant from everything"
the hotel is pretty far away from anything. if you are going to walk, it's a hike. if you are driving get a map. it's fairly pretty, but just not that impressive. there is a restaurant next door, when I went for a drink they had a very loud wedding party upstairs so not a happy time for anyone else in the place. I tried the "spa". a very small jacuzzi, […] steamroom, and sauna. the sauna never did warm up in the 25 minutes i was there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"close to river, nice for jogging"
we were not told that there is a $22.00 charge on parking per night. if the hotel is not providing customers options to park otherwise but only valet parking, then they shouldn't be charged, at least they should be advised at the of time of booking. the bed is uneven and pillows are extremely uncomfortable, causing neck pain and headache. we booked […] river view room, but we can't really see the river because of the trees, and the floor is simply not high enough. "The worst hotel experience ever"
After a cross country flight learn that the hotel had NO working locks on the room doors - no internet. No apology, no effort to find us another hotel, no offer to pay for our cab. They literally were booking people into rooms when the locks did not work. This is a hotel that should not be in operation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The valet guys were really on top of it and very friendly....made everything easy. The people at the front desk made it seem like they were genuinely happy to help. A guy named Dan was particularly helpful. It was refreshing to be around people like this.Genuine Expedia guest review
Found the hotel to be just average, in a great setting. I believe Portland is very high priced but I have had so much more for less. With that said You must get a room with a river view. Great Balcony. Complimentary breakfast is just okay and the same day after day. Nice walk ways along the river and public transportation .7 miles away.Genuine Expedia guest review
"old property that needs updating"
ok, not a great property...probably will not go back...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The mattress was really uncomfortable and complimentary breakfast was not really very good. cleaning staff were very loud and found some garbage from the previous occupants, no wash clothes....Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely spot but a bit out of the way"
The property is really nice and the location on the river is lovely. Bikes are provided, and there is a great path along the river. It's a bit out of the way and not an easy walk to downtown based upon the current lack of safe walking routes. The streetcar is kinda cool, but does require a bit of walking, and is not fast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"staff super helpful."
ENJOYED STAY. HOTEL UPGRADED OUR ROOM TO A RIVERVIEW AND BALCONY THE 2ND DAY. BREAKFAST NEXT DOOR WAS TYPICAL AND WE HEARD THAT AUGUST 24, THE HOTEL WAS GOING TO A FULL MENU BREAKFAST. SORRY WE MISSED THAT. OVER ALL WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN IN FUTURE.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful location. Comfortable rooms. Concierge staff not very knowledgeable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We embarked on a two night stay in what was billed as a "Spa Hotel". It was anything but relaxing and spa like. Our room smelled like a dead body ( carpet needed cleaning) and it was very noisy. Are two nights of attempting to sleep in what sounded like the hull of a ship, we went home exhausted. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking […] to relax on any level. "Great secluded site near downtown"
Loved the room size and the hotel location. The fitness and spa facilities are outstanding. Consider taking one of the bikes for a ride into downtown.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a small hotel with large rooms. We stayed in a first floor with a patio on the river. Nice and quiet with a great walking path. The restaurant was very good. The hotel location was an easy drive from the airport and to downtownGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is in a quiet part of town. The room is cozy and the balcony is nice place to sit out at night. The one thing we loved about the place is that it's near some black berry bush. My family had a great time picking and eating those berries. Some sweet some not too sweet. The gym looks great although we didnt get a chance to use itGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice enough, but"
The hotel is nice, with modern décor. It is right at the river, and a greenway trail along the river, which I really like. The service is fine. Its all valet parking for $19/day, which I wasn't aware of before arriving. There are a few little issues with the room. The walls are thin; I was awoken at 2:30am by drunken neighbors. Several wall fixtures […] (like sconces) were loose, so they jiggle around when you use them. And the coffee carafe didn't fit the maker properly, so the basket filled and overflowed rather than dripping in to the pot. The mattress needed replacement; it was soft and dished on both sides. And, unlike most hotels, it takes a long time to get hot water to the taps. On the plus side, the tub experience was very nice, the room had a whole window-wall facing the river, and there is delicious 'spa' water in the lobby. Guests also get complimentary use of the sauna, steam room, and hot tub in the spa. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A little out of the way but easy access to all"
The riverfront was nice, but even from our river view room on the 5th floor you couldn't really see the river - just trees. Also, the wifi didn't work except in the lobby - all the guests were complaining. However, the service was exceptional.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"River's Edge hotel and spa"
Very nice. Friendly staff, clean room, great location, quiet and earth friendly. River views and the hotel restaurant are nice. The food and service were awesome!! The complementary breakfast was terrific. If you're sausage and bacon type you may not appreciate the freshest of fruit, granola and pastries they provided. Our stay came with a choice of […] a yoga class and I hear the spa facilities are top notch. I recommend this spot if you want something a bit more quiet from the downtown scene. Its only minutes away by car. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Relaxing getaway in the city"
Came to PDX for a family/friend visir and was so pleased to have found this place. While not right downtown, it is an easy drive or a quick jump onto the streetcar to all the downtown shenanigans. Our friends live across the river and it was a quick jaunt to their place as well. Great setting. Nice staff. Will definitely be back.Genuine Expedia guest review

"First time in Portland"
The hotel was nice enough, but there is nothing around. I got a good deal on the hotel stay, but I spent about $30 a day on cab fare to and from downtown Portland. Next time, I will get a hotel in the downtown area, within walking distance to everything.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Something they are not...."
1. Were giving a room that had people already in it. 2. Cable for the TV was not working (plus it reminded me of my college one I had) 3. Patio doors were hard to open. 4. Oh it took them 3 different times to get us the right keys to our rooms. 5. We were not told about being able to use the spa if we were guest of the hotel (only heard it from a guest […] at the bar. 6. The over served guest in their bar that they just let sleep it off on the lobby couch. (yes I actually heard them say "let just let her sleep it off in the lobby"...Pretty scary decision making if you ask me. 7. Not an easy place to find, even with GPS... I thought this was going to be a nice get away for me and my wife....this is not a place that should be charging 200 plus night, best it was under 100 I do have to say the spa was nice, restaurant was good, and the valet attends were the nicest and hardest working people there..
