My kids loved the pool! It was very clean. Our room and other areas needed more attention (i.e. vacuum in corners and underneath, around furniture.) The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety but they ran out of many items on our second morning.

the pool was dirty, low water pressure in room 402. i asked front desk why pressure was bad and the answer was 402 is farthest from the water supply room. why was i put in that room when they asked me what floor i wanted since i had my pick of the whole hotel. they knew the pressure was bad. when asked for assistance with the safe, the front desk attendant […] said he would come up to help and never did. when i called the front desk with questions the hotels voice mail kicked in over my voice. the same front desk attendant said that was my fault. they need to address customer service. also the hotel charged me a lesser rate for my second night than hotels.com did. $12.oo less. Not good at all. The "non-smoking" room stunk of cigarette smoke and there were cigarette burns in the bathroom. When the heat was turned on it blew out stale cigarette smoke and dust like being in an old bar. Apparently the filter was very dirty. The heat was either all on or all off - no working temperature control, and the fan was very noisy. We stayed at the Wingate enroute to our New Year's getaway destination and were very satisfied with our choice. We'll definitely stay there again when stopping in Lexington. The room was updated, clean and very comfortable, the only perhaps original part being the bathroom.

Beds comfortable and great pillows. Room was basically clean but the carpet needed a good overall vacuum as you could see a collection of dust in the corners. Bathroom was clean.

When I checked into my room, there was a layer of visible dirt/slime on the shower floor. I was moved to a new room, but the thought of that disgusting bathroom stayed with me and I questioned how clean the new room that I was moved to really was. I don't think I will stay at this hotel again.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and think it is very nice. The staff is very cordial and the breakfast is good. My only negative comment is the shower head was old and should be replaced. It still worked ok but not great.

The bathroom was outdated and not in perfect condition but everything else wonderful. We were using it as a refuge from Sandy and could not have been happier there. Breakfast was included - adequate for sure. The staff could have not been nicer! The Business Office was open to me at no charge which was another nice perk.

The location couldn't be better if you are traveling and just need a place to sleep. The "hot breakfast" consisted of yellow discs (eggs?), microwaved sausage links, sausage gravy, or waffles. The waffles were OK. Coffee was awful.

Our only diappointment was that we got in so late and had a day planned at the Safari Park and the children were not able to enjoy the indoor pool. Great place to stay!!!

The room and hallway had an odor that resembled smoke and disinfectant. Our room was dirty, with hair around the bathroom sink. The bed spread was dirty. The heater in the room was loud, and kept waking us up. Hotel advertised a hot spa and exercise facility, but the exercise room was small and not well equipped. The exercise room and spa did not open […] until 10:00 AM, after most people had already checked out, and it was only open until 10:00 PM. The hotel advertised a hot breakfast, with fresh fruit. The fresh fruit was whole apples and oranges, not the cut fresh fruit that most hotels now serve. The eggs were some type of yellow round disks that had the consistency of rubber. Hotel was Fair. Good set up with easy chair & desk chair in room. Beds were very confortable. Old popcorn and a food wrapper were under bed and could be easliy seen when sitting in the chair. Hair dryer was broken but staff had supply at front desk. There is an intense chemical smell as you enter the first floor - maybe pool chemicals.

We needed a place to crash for the nite near the Washington & Lee University. We were doing a College visit/tour with our son who is a Jr in high school. I actually chose the Wingate because a person who gave another hotel a poor review said they would stay at the Wingate next time. The hotel is new so it is still very clean and family friendly.
