Service at the front desk went above and beyond our expectations. They helped us get numbers for rental car places and provided us with everything we needed. Room looked new and modern, but did not have a microwave or fridge, but did have a coffee maker. Our TV's remote control was broken (the battery cover would not stay on), there was a used band-aid on the floor between the two beds, and a hair in one of the new bath towels. Also, I tried to make local calls from the room phone, but even though I followed the instructions on the phone, it kept giving me a busy signal. View from the room was scary (steep hill with roots). Overall, we were pleased by the service provided by the front desk, but all of the other things were a disappointment. Next time, we probably will go with a hotel that had a microwave/fridge and offered drinks and snacks in the lobby, even if it costs a little more. Cleanliness of a room is very important, and we were definitely grossed out by the used band-aid.

I needed an inexpensive room for a short say in Pittsburg. The room was small with one double bed, which was perfect for me. Bed was comfy, slept well. Only issues were one of the outlets didn't work so I had to plug a camera battery in the bathroom (no biggie) and the hair dryer did not work. When I told the front desk, they apologized and handed me a working one. The front desk peeps were very friendly and helpful with directions. I would recommend this place, at least for a solo traveler. It is convenient to downtown, Carnegie Mellon, University of Pittsburg, the cultural area and I'm sure to many places I don't even know about. Oh, FREE continental breakfast, too...with LOTS to choose from.

Turning onto the drive to reach the EconoLodge was difficult. After Exiting the highway you have to immediately cross 2 lanes of heavy traffic in order... to reach the left turn lane to turn onto the road for the hotel. It was convient to the doctor's office i was going to. the entrances need marked better. it was difficult to find the main enterance. they did accomidate my request for a ground level floor as i was traveling with a toddlar in a stroller.

For the price, we weren't expecting perfection. But we were so surprised. Clean room and bathroom, comfortable beds and very helpful staff. If was everything that we needed for a overnight stay.The room is small, but we didn't need anything larger. A continental breakfast the next morning was exactly what we needed before heading to the airport.

Hotel was very easy to find...right off I 79. Stores and a Gas Station right next door. Desk Attendants were very nice and the Room was comfortable, quiet, and clean....no Bed Bugs! Great Continental Breakfast to start off your day as well. I would defineately come back to this hotel for my next Steelers game.

Breakfast was a budget program, our room had a strong floral odor that was overbearing when you entered the room, not sure what they were covering up but it was annoying. There's no elevator, the lobby is tiny, and everything we got out of the vending machine was expired. It was a good thing I had packed extra goodies for my kids to snack on. You get what you pay for. If you need a cheap room for the night, this works. They really need to mark the front entrance. There's a sign on the side that points towards the front of the building, it looks like a service entrance. Go through the brown doors (they stick) and there is a front desk there. The check-in process was extrememly long, even though the room was completely paid for in advance. I travel at least 6 nights a month for business, and have never had anyone put my drivers license number and credit card number into the computer so many times. I have notified the CC company to watch for suspicious activity. Also, there is not an elevator […] on the property. I wish I had known that before I booked a room for my 87 year old mother and 94 year old father. When I asked to be moved to the 1st floor, even though we arrived a half hour before the posted check in time, I was told they were full and since it was booked though Expedia it could not be changed. A basic room, but very clean and very quiet place to stay. It was very convenient for us--access to our children in the north hills area of Pittsburgh. Staff was very accomodating and helpful during our 6 night stay.

I was unsure when I booked this hotel due to reading peoples comments for this hotel. Hotel is directly off of the highway, if you follow the signs. There were some renovations that were being done, but hey their making the place better. They had coffee and cookies ready when we got there in the afternoon. Breakfast was nice. They didnt have the sausage […] eggs, etc but it was continental and they had a wide variety. Dont always believe what you read. Everyones standards are different. Read more

This hotel was clean with good service. The only issue was the heater was terribly loud as was the refrigerator.

I needed a resonable place to stay close to Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh. There was plenty to do around the hotel and was only 18 minutes from the hospital.

Nothing fancy. If you are looking for a cheap stay close to the city, then this is the place for you. Room was clean and quiet. Only 20 minutes from downtown.

I have to say the employees of the hotel were all super friendly, nice and very helpful and I in no way complaining about them at all. HOWEVER, the room was gross when we got there. It had a weird smell and everything that touched the floor picked up that smell (a little like dirty feet and vomit), there was salsa that someone left in the fridge prior […] to us getting there (also smelled) and the beds were the WORST. The mattress was thinner than the box spring and was so uncomfortable we didnt get a good night's sleep the whole time we were there. The detergent they use on the sheets left me with a slight rash all over myself and my cheeks from the pillow cases. I would definitely not ever stay there again because the quality of the room was so terrible. I give it one star for the service and another star for the quiet location and it only being about 5 minutes from cranberry where there is a lot of restaurants, etc. Read more
