"Great service and beautiful grounds"
The Setai offered true 5-star service; however, if you are looking for a hotel with the chic vibe of South Beach as you will find at the Delano, this is NOT the hotel for you. The pools are not populated with beautiful people. It is more family-like with children.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The Setai medicine"
Our interest on this trip was to recover from my husband's 5 month recuperation from lung surgery back in October. The hotel's service, calmness , the sun, the breeze, and good food and great cocktails from Phillip, brought us back to life... no more walker or wheelchair, just long walks on the beach with only a cane.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel, right on the beach"
5+star experience. This hotel provides the highest caliber serviceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel. Slightly too expensive."
My stay at the Setai was very nice despite getting sick! The food was decent and the hotel and grounds were beautiful (except that there was some construction going on). Overall the only real problem with this hotel is that it is too expensive for what you get. You can get just as high quality service in other locations. BUT, thats Miami Beach!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was great, my only concern is that I had to call every morning asking for towels, because the cleaning lady take the used towels and did no replace both days I was thereGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Shame about the construction. The hotel staff and rooms are superb.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel in beautyfication.... You jocking with other people money!Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful hotel when renovation will be completed.Major work happening until next month. All 3 pools are closed the noise and construction is 7 days a week.Courtyard is closed. It's a hard hat area until work is finished. The service was great.I would come back in December...not before that!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Setai - What a wonderful place to stay!!"
We really enjoyed it. The room was so comfortable and spacious...especially for a South Beach hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable!! I highly recommend the Setai the next time you stay in South Beach!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Calm and secluded luxury"
My stay at the Setai was amazing. From the staff to the restaurants to the pool...a 5+ star experience. If you are looking for a relaxing hotel in hectic and flashy South Beach, then the Setai is the place to be.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"5 star hotel on South Beach"
My husband and enjoyed a long weekend (sans children) at this beautiful hotel. We wanted a hotel that provided a nice spa, a calm and serene pool atmosphere that was located on the beach. We wanted the luxury of a five star hotel that was also close to the shops, cafes, restaurants and bars that Sourh Beach is so well known. Well, we found it at The […] Setai! The customer service was impeccable. We were definitely pampered. We indulged in a couples massage at the spa. It was wonderful! The massage therapists were very tuned into our treatments. However, the spa lacked a sitting area. We waited for our massages in the spa lobby. This was a little disappointing. The service at the beach was attentive and prompt. The food and beverage prices were very high. For example, cocktails were $18 and the buffet breakfast was $36. This aside, the hotel and our experience was fabulous. "Excellent hotel. We thought the food was excellent"
Excellent hotel, the personnel was effective and courteous. Maybe many guests could say at the beginning that they do not require a second housekeeping at dawn, we did not require it and had to reject it every evening. We had a confusion with the room rate because the room was upgraded, but the notice I signed said room rate $1,100 and I understood […] that was the room rate. The person who wrote that did not explain to me, and did not write thereon that it was an *additional* room rate over the one that I had already paid with Expedia. This led to a misunderstanding. I would recommend that the staff be very clear when an upgrade is done in making a note that says "additional room rate due to upgrade" or something of that nature, to avoid such confusion. If only "room rate" is noted, users can easily think that such is the "room rate" not an *additional* one. The manager to whom I explained this was very courteous and understanding, and helped in solving the disagreement. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Serene Miami Luxury"
Luxurious, oversized guestrooms. Great location on the beach side of Collins Ave. Poolside service can be surprisingly spotty for a hotel of this caber. George at front desk and Esther at the pool are absolutely exceptional.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"gorgeous hotel. friendly staff. great resort feel"
Great resort feeling in the heart of Miami. relaxing environment. great amenities. great food.Genuine Expedia guest review
Having stayed at the Setai in the past, I have noticed a slight decline in service and the quality of the overall atmosphere at the hotel. The staff is still very good, but the hotel is a little louder, and the staff is not quite as consistently attentive as during my previous stays.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I travel on a regular basis and The Setai was the finest hotel I've ever stayed in. I can't say enough about it - the location, staff, decor - was all absolutely amazing! Phenomenal! I will stay here every time I'm in Miami from now on.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fabulous hotel, in the heart of South Beach"
Welcoming professional staff; discreet yet so attentive. Gorgeous calm music and decor, very clean, friendly staff. Everything was attended to and thought through. Lovely food on the beach, comfortable chairs, great cocktails. We ate at the Asian restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the best sea bass I've ever tasted.Genuine Expedia guest review
"excellent but expensive"
Expensive but worth the higher cost. Great location, great staff nice amenities (pool area, beach, restaurant).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worst service ever ruins a hotel that could be goo"
A 5 star hotel is dragged down to somewhere between a Days Inn or Ramada (better than those) and a Hilton, Hyatt, or Marriott (clearly BELOW any of those). The staff has very limited English skills (THROUGHOUT the property - if you only speak English, DO NOT stay here!), and zero understanding of what it takes to make a property worth the $800/night […] room charge. Interested in the pool bar? Closed early with no notice - no one at the hotel knew about it until they made phone calls. 3pm check in? Not exactly. 5pm...you should have a room. Want to speak to a manager? I asked three employees at the front desk to speak to a manager. After they asked me some questions (in broken English), one person ran away. turned out he was the manager! Note to staff: if someone ASKS for a manager - and you ARE one - -say "Hi, I'm xxx, the manager at the moment". Running away and hiding does NOT help. One more thing: a 10 ounce Diet Coke is $6, and of course there are no refills. So...with automatic 20% gratuity (makes the bad service easier for the staff) nad sales tax, you can expect to pay $15 for your diet Coke at breakfast. Stay elsewhere! It was one of the best experience I have had my wife and i were there for our anniversary and the staff went out of there way to make sure everything was outstanding, From setting up massages after the spa hours to getting basketball tickets to just have knowing your name it was truly a great experience and I will go back!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel with excellent service"
We enjoyed our overall stay, the only thing we were not happy with was our room! We felt we did not get value for our money...dont take the studio city view room that says its overlooks the ocean and beach we saw neither from our room.... .the room was situated over the main road, very noisy and no double glazing so could hear literally everything!! […] Small and quite a dark and a depressing room! On positive note- the services were excellent, restaurants, the staff were friendly and forthcoming! The spa was great! The beach service was excellent! Mojitos on the beach is a must! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

One thing needs to be changed. The temperature in common areas is too low.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is perfect, expensive but worths the price, the only thing I didn't like is the way reception treats you when yo want to change credit cards and want to have yor credit back. They don't seems to like it even been a Luxury Visa Brand Hotel. So, be sure of what credit card you want to use for the hotel charges.Everything else is just perfect. You […] are treated like a king and don't have to worry about anything because they do what yo ask, even findind a medicine at 3am and bringing to you in a few minutes.Awesome. The Setai is a superb Hotel and even though it is undergoing a refurbishment, it was not at all intrusive. It really is hard to fault this Hotel, the best aspect was the service and I would happily recommend this Hotel to everyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quite and luxurious hotel even on a noisy weekend."
Awesome stay at the Setai. The staff was great. Rooms were amazing. A bit pricy at the bar and restaurant but the service was so good that it was worth it. Didn't spend much time at the beach but the pools were very nice. Great gym and spa. We were there over the Memorial Day weekend. Apparently Miami Beach is not the place to be if you're looking for […] peace and quiet on that weekend but we had no problems. A bit crazy on Collins at night but the Setai had lots of security. Maybe too much really. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Art Deco building is past it's prime."
09/24/14 TraderJP Shreveport, Louisiana
We came here for a Birthday and our Anniversary. Overall, it was a OK stay. The service was fantastic and all the employees really did seem to care and hope that you had a memorable experience during your stay. That meant a lot to us. We spent roughly $700 on the room with taxes..the deluxe suite with a view of the courtyard in the older Art Deco building. The room was showing it's age and I'll be honest, it wasn't worth what we paid for it. The new tower looks great, but with pricing starting at $1650 plus tax for South Beach, it's past the point of ridiculous. The courtyard area was the best part of the hotel we thought. We went to The Restaurant one of the nights we there in the hotel. The place had no view, and it was extremely expensive for what you got, but the food was decent. If you give me a beautiful view, I don't mind the big prices. The weather was rainy the entire time we were there. Pools had a cool look to them, wish we could have enjoyed them. My wife did the Spa, she said it was very nice. This was our visit time to South Beach and i'm not sure if it was the rain that killed the mood or what, but the whole area was an extremely underwhelming experience. We probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again however the people that worked there were fantastic. I think we'll do the St Regis hotel Bal Harbour next time...if there is one.

My best friends and I were looking for a place to stay in South Beach, Miami for one of our birthdays. YHI Partners was able to find us the most perfect place. The service was great and the place was beautiful. They booked us the beautiful Setai Townhouse, it was clean and chic. The best part... we got an awesome concierge service AND 24 hour room service! We're definitely booking through YHI for all of our birthdays to come back here!
"Spa was not as relaxing as I had hoped"
09/10/14 555jenb Washington DC, District of Columbia
I went to the spa at the Setai, as they were having a special for spa month. It was also my 30th birthday so I thought I would treat myself to something special. I have been to other spa's on the beach, like lapis in the fountain blue (worth every penny), so my expectations were high considering the reputation of the Setai. The massage was amazing. Carolina was my masseuse and she was so friendly and made me feel so relaxed. The issue I had with the spa was with some of the staff. There was a woman whose job it was to sit in the locker room and help you with whatever you need. However, I thought it was strange that she needed to be right there watching me while I got undressed. That wasn't that big of a deal though. What really upset me was after the massage. I'm feeling so relaxed and zen walking back into the locker room to change. This time the woman who worked in the locker room was now accompanied by a co-worker. They were sitting back, chilling, speaking so loudly, slamming doors, just being completely unprofessional and inappropriate. It kind of ruined the experience for me. I didn't feel like I was in a spa at all. On the contrary, I felt like I was in Versailles on 8th street. Even though the massage was great, I wouldn't come back.

This was the highlight of our weekend trip. Started off the morning with a complimentary beach yoga class (completely what I needed on my weekend away), took a serene dip in one of the pools. The staff at the pool are friendly and wonderful. The property itself is very zen with the dark wood. The pools are amazing with day bed alcoves, nice deck chairs and fluffy white towels. Our spa was the Miami Spice Asian Fusion massage which was delightful... it started off with a bath soak and I almost fell asleep! Comes with complimentary japanese thong inspired spa slippers. The amenities in the spa were also very yummy smelling and we finished off our appointments with a visit to the hot sauna. I would highly recommend this hotel for the top service it provided to us, anything we needed at our spa stay, they were looking to accommodate. Top rating from all the ladies on our trip. We didn't stay at this hotel, but going to the spa was definitely a trip highlight. Wish I could go back there for the beautiful pools again.
"What an amazing place and the 4th night is free"
09/06/14 Alan R Leamington Spa, United Kingdom
Been for lunch many times on special occasions and quite honestly you would have to search high and low in Miami to get better food - the pool and beach area are amazing too - just like the prices !! Only go on special occasions as your well earned coffers will deplenish rather rapidly. Have stayed a couple of times but only on business to impress the clients.....

Lets face it, Setai is not cheap. But, unlike some other luxury hotels, Setai is actually value for money. Everything is just perfect, the rooms, the sound systems, the drinks, the three pools and not to mention the insane breakfast. The only problem is that once you stay at the Setai, you will have a hard time staying in other hotels.

My husband and I are locals who spent the day at the Setai during Miami Spa Month. We received a couple's massage, spent the afternoon by the pool, and ate at the restaurant overlooking the water. The facilities were gorgeous and the service was unsurpassed. The hotel does not scrimp on the amenities. We received complementary bottled water, cool towels, and a refreshing spray by the pool. The locker rooms by the spa were immaculate and had everything you could want (including a flat iron for beach-worn hair). The Asian couples' massage was the best we ever received. Although we did not spend the night, we would love to do so for a special occasion in the future.

We have enjoyed many stays at the Setai. The design has been enjoyable and it has felt luxurious. Our recent stay we were faced with compromises that made us shorten our stay from 8 to 4 days. When we complained to Sebastien, the manager, he tried to fix the problematic room by moving us to a suite. However, the suite faces the city and doesn't seem relaxing due to the bus noise and view (see attached). The hotel seems not to hear the voices of its luxury customers and I would encourage them to work on problem solving. The hotel is showing its age and no one should feel like they are compromising at these prices. Rooms ending in *16 are terrible with no view. And suites are overstating the experience. It must be tough for them given the limited number of rooms and expectations of the new owners.
"Very good hotel"
08/23/14 mbgandco London
The Setai is an excellent hotel and probably the best in South Beach but was just shy of excellent for a couple of reasons. Firstly the service was excellent throughout except for a lamentable lapse with valet parking. For $42 a night I really expect them to be able to return the car within 15 minutes but they failed on a number of occasions. Secondly, the room, in the low rise part of the hotel is well appointed and very comfortable but curiously things did not work: the bath plug failed to stop water draining away, the coffee maker never worked and the socket in the bathroom for the hairdryer did not work. Minor quibbles I know but they just show a hotel that needs to improve a little. On the plus side, the pool area is excellent and no where near as noisy as the W, the breakfast was fantastic. The position is good but just away from Ocean Drive and probably the better for that. I would definitely stay here again.
"Amazing property and service"
08/19/14 Mrs_OFarrell London, United Kingdom
I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 1 year old daughter and the service is honestly incomparable to any other hotel I have stayed in. The property is in a fantastic location, we hadn't actually realized how great until we arrived. And as you would expect from a five star, rooms and communal areas all pristine. I would say that the interior was a little dark, but this was the style. We arranged a babysitting service through the hotel, and a lovely lady was sent to our room on time. My daughter slept soundly in an adjoining room to ours and we felt very comfortable leaving her with the nanny they provided. We had friends staying at various other hotels in South Beach, who didn't have kids but we were very glad we were at The Setai as it seemed to be very family friendly and all the staff kindly made a fuss of our daughter. I really feel America has the edge of Europe in terms of hospitality and this hotel emphasized that case in point. Up there as one of the best hotels I've stayed to date and I am particularly fussy! Look forward to returning.
