"Great service and beautiful grounds"
The Setai offered true 5-star service; however, if you are looking for a hotel with the chic vibe of South Beach as you will find at the Delano, this is NOT the hotel for you. The pools are not populated with beautiful people. It is more family-like with children.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The Setai medicine"
Our interest on this trip was to recover from my husband's 5 month recuperation from lung surgery back in October. The hotel's service, calmness , the sun, the breeze, and good food and great cocktails from Phillip, brought us back to life... no more walker or wheelchair, just long walks on the beach with only a cane.Genuine Expedia guest review

5+star experience. This hotel provides the highest caliber serviceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel. Slightly too expensive."
My stay at the Setai was very nice despite getting sick! The food was decent and the hotel and grounds were beautiful (except that there was some construction going on). Overall the only real problem with this hotel is that it is too expensive for what you get. You can get just as high quality service in other locations. BUT, thats Miami Beach!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was great, my only concern is that I had to call every morning asking for towels, because the cleaning lady take the used towels and did no replace both days I was thereGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Shame about the construction. The hotel staff and rooms are superb.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Beautiful hotel when renovation will be completed.Major work happening until next month. All 3 pools are closed the noise and construction is 7 days a week.Courtyard is closed. It's a hard hat area until work is finished. The service was great.I would come back in December...not before that!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Setai - What a wonderful place to stay!!"
We really enjoyed it. The room was so comfortable and spacious...especially for a South Beach hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable!! I highly recommend the Setai the next time you stay in South Beach!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Calm and secluded luxury"
My stay at the Setai was amazing. From the staff to the restaurants to the pool...a 5+ star experience. If you are looking for a relaxing hotel in hectic and flashy South Beach, then the Setai is the place to be.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"5 star hotel on South Beach"
My husband and enjoyed a long weekend (sans children) at this beautiful hotel. We wanted a hotel that provided a nice spa, a calm and serene pool atmosphere that was located on the beach. We wanted the luxury of a five star hotel that was also close to the shops, cafes, restaurants and bars that Sourh Beach is so well known. Well, we found it at The […] Setai! The customer service was impeccable. We were definitely pampered. We indulged in a couples massage at the spa. It was wonderful! The massage therapists were very tuned into our treatments. However, the spa lacked a sitting area. We waited for our massages in the spa lobby. This was a little disappointing. The service at the beach was attentive and prompt. The food and beverage prices were very high. For example, cocktails were $18 and the buffet breakfast was $36. This aside, the hotel and our experience was fabulous. "Excellent hotel. We thought the food was excellent"
Excellent hotel, the personnel was effective and courteous. Maybe many guests could say at the beginning that they do not require a second housekeeping at dawn, we did not require it and had to reject it every evening. We had a confusion with the room rate because the room was upgraded, but the notice I signed said room rate $1,100 and I understood […] that was the room rate. The person who wrote that did not explain to me, and did not write thereon that it was an *additional* room rate over the one that I had already paid with Expedia. This led to a misunderstanding. I would recommend that the staff be very clear when an upgrade is done in making a note that says "additional room rate due to upgrade" or something of that nature, to avoid such confusion. If only "room rate" is noted, users can easily think that such is the "room rate" not an *additional* one. The manager to whom I explained this was very courteous and understanding, and helped in solving the disagreement. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Serene Miami Luxury"
Luxurious, oversized guestrooms. Great location on the beach side of Collins Ave. Poolside service can be surprisingly spotty for a hotel of this caber. George at front desk and Esther at the pool are absolutely exceptional.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"gorgeous hotel. friendly staff. great resort feel"
Great resort feeling in the heart of Miami. relaxing environment. great amenities. great food.Genuine Expedia guest review
Having stayed at the Setai in the past, I have noticed a slight decline in service and the quality of the overall atmosphere at the hotel. The staff is still very good, but the hotel is a little louder, and the staff is not quite as consistently attentive as during my previous stays.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I travel on a regular basis and The Setai was the finest hotel I've ever stayed in. I can't say enough about it - the location, staff, decor - was all absolutely amazing! Phenomenal! I will stay here every time I'm in Miami from now on.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fabulous hotel, in the heart of South Beach"
Welcoming professional staff; discreet yet so attentive. Gorgeous calm music and decor, very clean, friendly staff. Everything was attended to and thought through. Lovely food on the beach, comfortable chairs, great cocktails. We ate at the Asian restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the best sea bass I've ever tasted.Genuine Expedia guest review
"excellent but expensive"
Expensive but worth the higher cost. Great location, great staff nice amenities (pool area, beach, restaurant).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worst service ever ruins a hotel that could be goo"
A 5 star hotel is dragged down to somewhere between a Days Inn or Ramada (better than those) and a Hilton, Hyatt, or Marriott (clearly BELOW any of those). The staff has very limited English skills (THROUGHOUT the property - if you only speak English, DO NOT stay here!), and zero understanding of what it takes to make a property worth the $800/night […] room charge. Interested in the pool bar? Closed early with no notice - no one at the hotel knew about it until they made phone calls. 3pm check in? Not exactly. 5pm...you should have a room. Want to speak to a manager? I asked three employees at the front desk to speak to a manager. After they asked me some questions (in broken English), one person ran away. turned out he was the manager! Note to staff: if someone ASKS for a manager - and you ARE one - -say "Hi, I'm xxx, the manager at the moment". Running away and hiding does NOT help. One more thing: a 10 ounce Diet Coke is $6, and of course there are no refills. So...with automatic 20% gratuity (makes the bad service easier for the staff) nad sales tax, you can expect to pay $15 for your diet Coke at breakfast. Stay elsewhere! It was one of the best experience I have had my wife and i were there for our anniversary and the staff went out of there way to make sure everything was outstanding, From setting up massages after the spa hours to getting basketball tickets to just have knowing your name it was truly a great experience and I will go back!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel with excellent service"
We enjoyed our overall stay, the only thing we were not happy with was our room! We felt we did not get value for our money...dont take the studio city view room that says its overlooks the ocean and beach we saw neither from our room.... .the room was situated over the main road, very noisy and no double glazing so could hear literally everything!! […] Small and quite a dark and a depressing room! On positive note- the services were excellent, restaurants, the staff were friendly and forthcoming! The spa was great! The beach service was excellent! Mojitos on the beach is a must! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The Setai is a superb Hotel and even though it is undergoing a refurbishment, it was not at all intrusive. It really is hard to fault this Hotel, the best aspect was the service and I would happily recommend this Hotel to everyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quite and luxurious hotel even on a noisy weekend."
Awesome stay at the Setai. The staff was great. Rooms were amazing. A bit pricy at the bar and restaurant but the service was so good that it was worth it. Didn't spend much time at the beach but the pools were very nice. Great gym and spa. We were there over the Memorial Day weekend. Apparently Miami Beach is not the place to be if you're looking for […] peace and quiet on that weekend but we had no problems. A bit crazy on Collins at night but the Setai had lots of security. Maybe too much really. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Great location! Gorgeous Hotel, Friendly Staff! Overall fabulous place to stay. Special mention to Benjamin in concierge who helped us out with the PLACE TO BE every night of our stay in Miami. FANTASTIC!Genuine Expedia guest review
Location is perfect,2 streets above Lincoln Road. The hotel itself is very nice, done in a modern, asian, chic but simple way.A bit dark sometimes, but fits the style.Stayed in a city-view room on the 7th floor.Very nice room, the view was ok as 1 floor abv all the surrounding buildings. It is equipped with an excellent coffee machine, all sorts of amenities, best […] quality a/c,complimentary water, and all you would need for a perfect stay. The hotel has 2 very nice pools partially located under palm trees,in a very nice pool area.At the main restaurant you’ll find a wonderful breakfast buffet you will be able to enjoy inside or outside on that very beautiful “terrace”.Maybe a bit overpriced (50$ p.p.).The pool/beach restaurant is also excellent.Had the best burrata ever. At the bar next to the lobby you can enjoy all sorts of drinks and cocktails done by professionals. The beach is not far and equipped with very comfortable beach chairs. You are given water and cool towels. The minus point is that people put their towels early in the morning, then disappear till sometime in the afternoon, keeping all first row chairs blocked but unattended. That’s unfair,it shouldn’t be permitted by the hotel.Other minus point is on holidays or week-ends.The beach becomes a chaos. Evidently understaffed.Staff forgets orders,is stressed and does not respond to what the hotel standard requires.A part from the beach, their staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. "Just about perfect"
11/22/14 stevewhiting Esher
This Asian influenced hotel is just a dream to stay in and I will certainly now only have one target on future visits to Miami. The rooms are well appointed, showers just the best I have ever encountered and the service right up with the best. The breakfast is a must with just about everything you would like on offer. The beach is well kept and the sunbeds are both sturdy and have luxury cushions. The 3 swimming pools are all set at a different temperature. The bar is welcoming and has a good vibe about it. I found the whole experience very satisfying and the karma around the place is excellent. I won't hesitate to return.
"Just the Best, Again"
11/16/14 JonnyN_66 London, United Kingdom
The Setai by far is just the best hotel in the world. Just one compares for us but The Setai wins for me. Third stay this year and nothing disappoints. The staff really makes this hotel, they all so polite, enthusiastic, energized and the sole of the hotel. The renovations in the Tower are great in the public areas. Uber has hit town, really good to get around, don't bother with public transport or anything like that its really cheap. Uber everywhere. Went to Joe's, just fantastic, every visitor needs to go there for a meal. Do use a city tour and do the three tours its very interesting on the hop on and off buses. Get to know the city and not just the beach. Cant review The Setai much more as done a couple already, its so good no one can be disappointed. It can be a party place, well it is the party place, so units next door could be noisy but you don't go to Miami Beach to sleep and get up early, you can tell by the gym and by the time people get to the beach!. Be nice to the guys at the beach and tip them well, they do an awesome job!!!
"Noisy, loud and impossible to sleep"
11/12/14 Camilla D London, United Kingdom
My husband and I have just returned from a 5 night stay at The Setai. The hotel itself is Ok, but if you take a roo. In the old Art Deco part, be warned. We requested a quiet room, facing the courtyard. On our first night there was pumping loud music from a DJ playing in the courtyard and we had to move rooms. Even the. We could still hear the music. A few nights later, there was a wedding, and again we could not sleep as it all took place in the courtyard with loud music and zero consideration for guests of the hotel that we're not part of the wedding. Finally, it rained on the weekend, and a few days later, the staff still hadn't bothered to dry the cushions in the courtyard, so you got wet if you sat down! We would never stay in his hotel again. Over rated and over priced.
"A perfect stay at a perfect hotel"
11/11/14 SteRos Sandnes, Norway
We stayed at The Setai 3 nights before going on a cruise. This is a excellent Asian inspired hotel situated at Collins Ave on South Beach only 10 minutes walk from Lincoln Street. Rooms are great, service is excellent, beach and pool area are fantastic, breakfast very welcoming and tasty - a perfect stay at a perfect hotel. Absolutely one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and we would love to come back next time we are going to visit Miami.
"One of a kind"
11/04/14 davidfk London, United Kingdom
The Setai in Miami Beach is quite simply one of a kind. It's fantastically located, on Collins Avenue, next door to the Shore Club and SLS hotels, but it's very different in atmosphere - with the emphasis on Asian-inspired luxury and a sense of calm that is lacking in some of the other South Beach hotels. It clearly sets out to be different - and it's obvious as soon as you arrive and are escorted to the smoothest check in experience I have ever experienced. You are then escorted to your room and shown how everything works (there are quite complex blinds and lighting arrangements to run through!). There's a central oasis-like pond, with the bars and restaurants surrounding it in a courtyard - and I would highly recommend you take the breakfast, which has the (deserved) reputation as 'the best in South Beach'. Service is faultless and attention to detail is evident everywhere. This must be the best-run hotel I have ever stayed in. It is not a 'party hotel' and it isn't a business-focused on either - it is totally focused on guests relaxing and enjoying the luxurious surroundings. There are two wings - the old art deco bit (which we stayed in), which is on Collins and doesn't have sea views and the new tower (which also houses residences), which has amazing sea views and balconies. There are three pools of differing temperatures (with one just for families) and the poolside service is also outstanding. The same is true of the dedicated 'lounger area' on the beach itself. There is free, fast and powerful wifi too (none of that charging, or 'go down to reception' nonsense) and there is plentiful 'Illy' coffee in the room, alongside great ameneties. Overall, it is an outstanding 'wow' kind of experience and deserves every one of its five stars.
"Great time at a Luxury Spot in Miami Beach"
11/02/14 Patrick K
I have traveled extensively and this is one of the better hotels I have visited. We stayed with another couple for a long weekend in October. The staff was great. I left something in the room when we checked out, called the hotel, and it was on my doorstep back home the next morning. Apparently there is some variation among the rooms in terms of style and arrangement. Ours was excellent, and was plenty of room for the four of us to meet for a drink before or after going out. On the fourth floor, you can hear Collins Ave below, but it was not bad - actually the room was very quiet and comfortable. The location is within walking distance from many restaurants, bars and shops. It is a bit of a walk to Ocean Ave. - abut 8 blocks or so, but certainly doable with a lot to see and do along the way. And if you get tired of walking, there are cabs everywhere, or, if it is available, the hotel has a free house car - a beautiful Mercedes - that will take you where you need to go or pick you up in style. The service on the beach was also top notch -- especially Rian, who made sure we had everything we needed. The pool bar and pool area are also great, although the one downside I would say is the blaring music from the pool at the hotel next door. Not a big deal, though - it is Miami Beach. There are three large pools, one hot, one warm and one cold - very refreshing. This is an expensive luxury hotel, and we were very pleased with all aspects - I am certain if we had been less than satisfied with anything while we were there we could have resolved it through the professional and friendly staff. I will definitely go back, and I would recommend this place to a friend.

The Setai was absolutely wonderful and one of a kind among luxury hotels in South Beach. The service was impeccable and the stay was more than comfortable. If you are looking for luxury and upscale accommodations, The Setai should be your only choice for your stay in South Beach!

We stayed at the Setai hotel and it was just perfect!!! Food was exquisite, the staff so professional. The property is elegant and well designed. The standard room is spacious and so well designed. This is one of the very best hotels we have ever stayed on. Finally, we must recommend the Setai grill for dinner by the water terrace...you will never forget.

The location is perfect, two streets above Lincoln Road, the pedestrian zone. Also located on the way to most shopping malls. The hotel itself is very nice, done in a modern, asian, chic but simple way. A bit dark sometimes, but fits the style. We stayed in a city-view room on the 7th floor. Very nice room, the view was ok as one floor above all the surrounding buildings. It is equipped with an excellent coffee machine, all sorts of amenities, best quality a/c, complimentary water, and all you would need for a perfect stay. The hotel has two very nice pools partially located under palm trees and in a very nice pool area. Always someone around to help you. At the main restaurant you’ll find a wonderful breakfast buffet you will be able to enjoy inside or outside on that very beautiful “terrace”. Maybe a bit overpriced (50$ p.p.). The pool/beach restaurant is also excellent. Had the best burrata ever. At the bar next to the lobby you can enjoy all sorts of drinks and cocktails done by a professional. The beach is not far and equipped with very comfortable beach chairs. You are given water and cool towels. The minus point is that it could be a bit cleaner, almost stepped on a shard of glass next to the beach chair. We also didn't appreciate that people put their towels early in the morning, then disappear till sometime in the afternoon, keeping all first row chairs blocked but unattended. That’s unfair and shouldn’t be permitted by the hotel. Other minus point is on holidays or week-ends. The beach becomes a chaos. Evidently understaffed. They forgets orders, are stressed and do not respond to what the hotel standard requires. Apart from the beach, their staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. As a suggestion to the hotel, it would be nice if they created an adult pool and beach area, where impolite kids and parents can't spoil other people's relaxed time.
"Anti South Beach in South Beach"
10/15/14 jmrmd New York City, New York
I've always loved being on the beach when we are in Miami. However, I never liked having to deal with the Vegas like atmosphere of South Beach. Such is the brilliance of the Setai. It provides a place to enjoy the beach without having to deal with the usual tackiness of south Beach. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The service is even better than the last time we stayed here 9 months ago. The room is as comfortable as ever. Hence, I never say we are staying in South Beach, I always have to stay we will be at the Setai.
