"Great service and beautiful grounds"
The Setai offered true 5-star service; however, if you are looking for a hotel with the chic vibe of South Beach as you will find at the Delano, this is NOT the hotel for you. The pools are not populated with beautiful people. It is more family-like with children.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The Setai medicine"
Our interest on this trip was to recover from my husband's 5 month recuperation from lung surgery back in October. The hotel's service, calmness , the sun, the breeze, and good food and great cocktails from Phillip, brought us back to life... no more walker or wheelchair, just long walks on the beach with only a cane.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel, right on the beach"
5+star experience. This hotel provides the highest caliber serviceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel. Slightly too expensive."
My stay at the Setai was very nice despite getting sick! The food was decent and the hotel and grounds were beautiful (except that there was some construction going on). Overall the only real problem with this hotel is that it is too expensive for what you get. You can get just as high quality service in other locations. BUT, thats Miami Beach!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was great, my only concern is that I had to call every morning asking for towels, because the cleaning lady take the used towels and did no replace both days I was thereGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Shame about the construction. The hotel staff and rooms are superb.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel in beautyfication.... You jocking with other people money!Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful hotel when renovation will be completed.Major work happening until next month. All 3 pools are closed the noise and construction is 7 days a week.Courtyard is closed. It's a hard hat area until work is finished. The service was great.I would come back in December...not before that!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Setai - What a wonderful place to stay!!"
We really enjoyed it. The room was so comfortable and spacious...especially for a South Beach hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable!! I highly recommend the Setai the next time you stay in South Beach!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Calm and secluded luxury"
My stay at the Setai was amazing. From the staff to the restaurants to the pool...a 5+ star experience. If you are looking for a relaxing hotel in hectic and flashy South Beach, then the Setai is the place to be.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"5 star hotel on South Beach"
My husband and enjoyed a long weekend (sans children) at this beautiful hotel. We wanted a hotel that provided a nice spa, a calm and serene pool atmosphere that was located on the beach. We wanted the luxury of a five star hotel that was also close to the shops, cafes, restaurants and bars that Sourh Beach is so well known. Well, we found it at The […] Setai! The customer service was impeccable. We were definitely pampered. We indulged in a couples massage at the spa. It was wonderful! The massage therapists were very tuned into our treatments. However, the spa lacked a sitting area. We waited for our massages in the spa lobby. This was a little disappointing. The service at the beach was attentive and prompt. The food and beverage prices were very high. For example, cocktails were $18 and the buffet breakfast was $36. This aside, the hotel and our experience was fabulous. "Excellent hotel. We thought the food was excellent"
Excellent hotel, the personnel was effective and courteous. Maybe many guests could say at the beginning that they do not require a second housekeeping at dawn, we did not require it and had to reject it every evening. We had a confusion with the room rate because the room was upgraded, but the notice I signed said room rate $1,100 and I understood […] that was the room rate. The person who wrote that did not explain to me, and did not write thereon that it was an *additional* room rate over the one that I had already paid with Expedia. This led to a misunderstanding. I would recommend that the staff be very clear when an upgrade is done in making a note that says "additional room rate due to upgrade" or something of that nature, to avoid such confusion. If only "room rate" is noted, users can easily think that such is the "room rate" not an *additional* one. The manager to whom I explained this was very courteous and understanding, and helped in solving the disagreement. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Serene Miami Luxury"
Luxurious, oversized guestrooms. Great location on the beach side of Collins Ave. Poolside service can be surprisingly spotty for a hotel of this caber. George at front desk and Esther at the pool are absolutely exceptional.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"gorgeous hotel. friendly staff. great resort feel"
Great resort feeling in the heart of Miami. relaxing environment. great amenities. great food.Genuine Expedia guest review
Having stayed at the Setai in the past, I have noticed a slight decline in service and the quality of the overall atmosphere at the hotel. The staff is still very good, but the hotel is a little louder, and the staff is not quite as consistently attentive as during my previous stays.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I travel on a regular basis and The Setai was the finest hotel I've ever stayed in. I can't say enough about it - the location, staff, decor - was all absolutely amazing! Phenomenal! I will stay here every time I'm in Miami from now on.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fabulous hotel, in the heart of South Beach"
Welcoming professional staff; discreet yet so attentive. Gorgeous calm music and decor, very clean, friendly staff. Everything was attended to and thought through. Lovely food on the beach, comfortable chairs, great cocktails. We ate at the Asian restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the best sea bass I've ever tasted.Genuine Expedia guest review
"excellent but expensive"
Expensive but worth the higher cost. Great location, great staff nice amenities (pool area, beach, restaurant).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worst service ever ruins a hotel that could be goo"
A 5 star hotel is dragged down to somewhere between a Days Inn or Ramada (better than those) and a Hilton, Hyatt, or Marriott (clearly BELOW any of those). The staff has very limited English skills (THROUGHOUT the property - if you only speak English, DO NOT stay here!), and zero understanding of what it takes to make a property worth the $800/night […] room charge. Interested in the pool bar? Closed early with no notice - no one at the hotel knew about it until they made phone calls. 3pm check in? Not exactly. 5pm...you should have a room. Want to speak to a manager? I asked three employees at the front desk to speak to a manager. After they asked me some questions (in broken English), one person ran away. turned out he was the manager! Note to staff: if someone ASKS for a manager - and you ARE one - -say "Hi, I'm xxx, the manager at the moment". Running away and hiding does NOT help. One more thing: a 10 ounce Diet Coke is $6, and of course there are no refills. So...with automatic 20% gratuity (makes the bad service easier for the staff) nad sales tax, you can expect to pay $15 for your diet Coke at breakfast. Stay elsewhere! "Great Hotel Experience!"
It was one of the best experience I have had my wife and i were there for our anniversary and the staff went out of there way to make sure everything was outstanding, From setting up massages after the spa hours to getting basketball tickets to just have knowing your name it was truly a great experience and I will go back!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel with excellent service"
We enjoyed our overall stay, the only thing we were not happy with was our room! We felt we did not get value for our money...dont take the studio city view room that says its overlooks the ocean and beach we saw neither from our room.... .the room was situated over the main road, very noisy and no double glazing so could hear literally everything!! […] Small and quite a dark and a depressing room! On positive note- the services were excellent, restaurants, the staff were friendly and forthcoming! The spa was great! The beach service was excellent! Mojitos on the beach is a must! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

One thing needs to be changed. The temperature in common areas is too low.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is perfect, expensive but worths the price, the only thing I didn't like is the way reception treats you when yo want to change credit cards and want to have yor credit back. They don't seems to like it even been a Luxury Visa Brand Hotel. So, be sure of what credit card you want to use for the hotel charges.Everything else is just perfect. You […] are treated like a king and don't have to worry about anything because they do what yo ask, even findind a medicine at 3am and bringing to you in a few minutes.Awesome. "One of the best"
The Setai is a superb Hotel and even though it is undergoing a refurbishment, it was not at all intrusive. It really is hard to fault this Hotel, the best aspect was the service and I would happily recommend this Hotel to everyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quite and luxurious hotel even on a noisy weekend."
Awesome stay at the Setai. The staff was great. Rooms were amazing. A bit pricy at the bar and restaurant but the service was so good that it was worth it. Didn't spend much time at the beach but the pools were very nice. Great gym and spa. We were there over the Memorial Day weekend. Apparently Miami Beach is not the place to be if you're looking for […] peace and quiet on that weekend but we had no problems. A bit crazy on Collins at night but the Setai had lots of security. Maybe too much really. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Amazing property and service"
08/19/14 Mrs_OFarrell London, United Kingdom
I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 1 year old daughter and the service is honestly incomparable to any other hotel I have stayed in. The property is in a fantastic location, we hadn't actually realized how great until we arrived. And as you would expect from a five star, rooms and communal areas all pristine. I would say that the interior was a little dark, but this was the style. We arranged a babysitting service through the hotel, and a lovely lady was sent to our room on time. My daughter slept soundly in an adjoining room to ours and we felt very comfortable leaving her with the nanny they provided. We had friends staying at various other hotels in South Beach, who didn't have kids but we were very glad we were at The Setai as it seemed to be very family friendly and all the staff kindly made a fuss of our daughter. I really feel America has the edge of Europe in terms of hospitality and this hotel emphasized that case in point. Up there as one of the best hotels I've stayed to date and I am particularly fussy! Look forward to returning.
"Absolutely the best service!"
I've stayed in many high end hotels and this is one of my all time favorites. The service is truly outstanding. By some magic, every employee seems to know one's name after less than a day. The staff at the pools and the beach always remember preferences. The valet service is great, and the cold bottles of water they provide are just another way this hotel always seems to anticipate what you will want. The room service menu is extensive and service is prompt. The restaurant at the pool is great, and I love having a choice of pool temperature. This hotel is very elegant and a wonderful oasis of calm in the midst of South Beach.

we stayed at the setai for 3 nights coming from central america. we were treated like royalty and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more efficient. the rooms are incredible, the food was great, the concierge was very helpful, and having travelled a lot we felt that we had a unique experience. we would definitely recommend it further.

The resort is amazing!!! The staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The location was perfect with easy access to the beach. I loved how relaxing and tranquil the resort was. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone visiting the Miami area.
"Serenity in South Beach"
08/05/14 Victor D Mahopac, New York
While South Beach is know for its wild and crazy atmosphere the Setai is a tranquil and relaxing "away from it all" getaway. Party in SOBE and relax at the Setai. Very upscale and a beautiful Asian vibe sets it apart from most other SOBE hotels. Not to be missed if you want a hideaway in the midst of all the craziness, fun and partying South Beach has to offer...
"Great location and property"
08/05/14 Eshwar V London, United Kingdom
We spent 4 nights at The Setai and the property is great. We had an Ocean Suite on the 32nd floor with a balcony. Excellent views. I felt the room was a bit small as it was a suite with a kitchenette and an additional bathroom. However the hotel restaurants, service, pool and beach facilities make up for this. Only niggle was a bad odour when we would walk from outside the lobby to the hotel restaurant through a corridor.....it looked like their refuse containers were stored there and decaying food was contributing to a bad odour. We also had to call every evening for a breakfast menu pre-order card. There was corridor refurb work going on so you could hear drills going off and also some occasional hammering, Check to see you aren't on a floor where this work is on.
"Pure class, pure luxury"
08/03/14 john j London, United Kingdom
This hotel level of service and standards are some of the best I've seen. Every member of staff be it by the pool, at the bar, having a drink in the courtyard or in one of the restaurants is on hand at your service. I stayed four nights here and it has to easily be one of my best experiences while at a hotel. For a star it's slap bang in the heart of South Beach. The pool is a tranquil oasis to send your day in and if you fancy the beach instead they have there own private strip with beds and full service. In the evening it has a lovely bar with great bar tenders who greet u by name and remember what you like to drink. This combined with the outside courtyard makes it a great evening to relax and enjoy all the Setai has to offer. Can not wait to return.
"Sexiest Hotel in South Beach!"
07/18/14 SunnySoFloGirl Boca Raton, Florida
This hotel doesn't miss a beat when it comes to offering a classy, sexy, upscale, perfect stay! It is gorgeously decorated throughout and the rooms have a very special touch! The Setai is also in a great location in Sobe so it makes it very convenient! Hands down, the outdoor zen garden/bar is the most romantic places I have been to in Miami for drinks. It is always a treat to go to the Setai! Amazing!
"Luxury setting that did not disappoint"
07/08/14 PickyTravelerFromNY New York City, New York
Had high expectations based on reviews read on Trip Advisor and on the experiences of friends who have visited the hotel. Overall, I enjoyed our stay and the hotel lived up to my high expectations. It is a beautiful resort with every luxury expected in a five star destination. Location in heart of South Beach is huge plus. It is nicest hotel I have stayed in in the South Beach area and I find it far superior to the other five star hotels in South Beach. Its important to know that the rooms within each category are not all the same. Layouts vary significantly. We were given a room that was very different from the courtyard suites pictured on website. I was expecting double vanities -as per website description of my reserved room -and our room did not have them. To our surprise, on a holiday fully booked weekend, we were given- without being told in advance - a room equipped for guests with disabilities outfitted with special handrails and other modifications. It was not what we expected on our vacation. When we tried to switch, there were almost no options for us. We had to wait until next morning and tried again with a different manager and were given a different room that offered a better layout although in a noisy location at the hotel. We took it! We spent a lot of our valuable vacation time dealing with the numerous front desk managers on duty trying to get placed in a room worth the price this hotel commands and charges. To their credit, management was very nice about our request to switch rooms and made every effort to accommodate within the category we booked -but sadly for us it took persistence and much effort on our part and we lost time and gained aggravation in a short vacation. This took its toll on the experience and quality of our stay. However it is likely just a rare incident that most guests do not have to worry about. The beds are very comfortable and the crisp well pressed linens and down pillows are amazing. The blackout electro shades ensure a deep sleep. The bathrooms are nice and the rain shower with excellent water pressure delivers a spa like experience. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and fully staffed by excellent attentive servers. Don't miss the great cappuccino. The beach is lovely and the lounge chairs are large and comfortable. Umbrellas are provided at no extra charge as well as sunscreen and chilled Voss water. The courtyard is stunning and offers a great setting to meet friends for a drink before dinner. The doorman are very attentive and there is a hotel car available for complimentary short rides. Overall an excellent hotel with well trained polite staff. I expect to return when in the area.
"Better than anything else on Miami Beach"
07/01/14 MFabulous New York City, USA
This hotel is by far the best on Miami Beach. It is absolutely 5 star with all the amenities and service you would expect. The staff is very friendly, professional and is well trained in hospitality. They never refuse any request. Extra chocolates in the evening - no problem. Can I have a smoothie while sitting in the courtyard and watching the World Cup - yes right away and on the house. The property itself is impeccable, spotless and totally high end. From the three restaurants, to the bar, to the pool area, gym, spa and all common areas, you cannot find any flaws. Anywhere you go, you feel comfortable, relaxed and wanted. The staff on the beach sets you up on a chair, brings over a tray of cold water, cold spray, a cold wet towel and a complimentary smoothie every now and then. The food at the restaurants is also top notch. Breakfast is an endless buffet with anything you'd ever want. The only quirk, and its not really a problem, is that the rooms have a bathtub in the living area below the tv. In discussions with other guests, everyone seemed to agree this is bizarre. Even if you are in the bathtub, you cannot see the tv because its right above you. What if the tv falls into the tub? When you get out of the tub, your living area will be all wet. Very strange, maybe I'm missing something. The crowd here is sophisticated and you don't get any of the trashy South Beach crowd roaming the halls being loud and rowdy. I will definitely come back here every time I am in Miami.
