The rooms are very nice and clean. The room on its own can be a good value, but watch out for the extras, as a bottle of water in the room costs is rather expensive, and there are no tea-making facilities available even in the cheapest hotels. Instead, it's another few quid for a room service tea. Whilst overall I enjoyed my two nights at the hotel, one element was particularly disappointing, and it's, surprisingly for such a high-class hotel, safety provision. The ironing board was in a terrible state, one leg was broken so the board was very wobbly and I had some few rather stressful moments trying to iron my shirt in the morning before a meeting. The iron itself had had a torn cord with exposed wires! Health and safety officers would clearly have something to say about that...

The hotel is in a convenient location with a pretty lobby overlooking the water, and an outdoor seating area that was very enjoyable. The problem my husband and I both experienced was the rudeness and inconsiderate behavior of some of the staff. We had a question about our bill which was not a big deal, but they really were impatient and dismissive in answering our question. The other issues we had were concerning the executive lounge. We upgraded after hearing it was a good deal, but my husband tried to grab something to eat before leaving for a business meeting and it was locked up tight even though the hours posted said it should have been open. When he mentioned this to a staff member in the lobby they said they had nothing to do with that area. Another night my husband and I went in to get a drink and sit and talk, when a staff member pulled out a big vacuum cleaner and cleaned the entire carpet while the lounge was full of people and still open.

We stayed 3 nights. The hotel is convenient if you want to go to Tivoli Gardens and some museums. It is located outside of the downtown area. My daughter had a violent allergic reaction after one night spent in the hotel ( swollen eyes and throat) , which grew worse and required a consultation with the hotel doctor. Somewhat expensive for the location.

Everything in Copenhagen is extremely expensive. Hotel was on the water, although we didn't have a water view. Request one! The canal boat trip leaves from the canal side of the hotel, tix at concierge, and is worth taking. Walking from here is a long walk, but enjoyable, to Tivoli Gardens, Palaces, etc. Not much nearby -- hard to find reasonably priced bottled water, especially on a holiday. Great restaurant nearby (15 min walk) = Hereford Steak House. Cabs are very expensive but it helps that they take credit cards. Cruisers sould try to arrange to take the ship's pre-arranged bus to the cruise terminal which picks up here, but is often full by the time you arrive at the hotel. Careful with Internet -- if you sign up for the "wired service package" in the room your package will not work with the wireless service in the lobby/outside deck requiring purchase of a separate very expensive "wireless package". But wireless will not work in the room. Go figure.

My family immensely enjoyed our stay at the Copenhagen Marriott. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful. out of value="10""Some way short of being five star"
Reviewed by J of London on Apr 15, 2009
The Marriott Copenhagen bills itself as five-star but in our experience, it falls comfortably short of that standard. On arrival staff agreed to look after our bags as our room was not ready - but when we returned our bags were nowhere to be found. Three hours passed before they were finally located, in a room two floors below. The hotel is in a reasonable location near the water - the outside of the building is nondescript but it is nicely decorated in the lobby and in the rooms, which are clean and spacious, though ours had damage on one wall which had not been repaired properly. It is well worth paying extra for the waterside rooms - great views. The food - both room service and in the restaurant - is extremely average and heavily overpriced as a consequence (circa £10 for two slices of French toast, or £25+ for a full English breakfast?!) The service in the restaurant is also sub-par - on one evening we went to a buffet (so no need for staff to serve you) and simply asked for a bottle of water - but it never arrived, nor did we see our waitress again. Other brief points: the staff are generally very helpful, the business centre is not free, and most services seem very expensive (but then so is Copenhagen in general). Overall, I would have given the hotel 3/5, but as it is advertised as being five-star I have judged it against that level. It simply does not reach that standard - a four-star building with three star service and two-star food.

The hotel rooms were excellent and is hotel was wonderful except for two things. For Americans, Dinner is very expensive, $160.00 for two to enjoy the buffet. The food and service was wonderful, however, I would prefer an alternative that is less expensive. The hamburgers in the bar were $28.00 Dollars. Olso, on our departure morning, we arrived in the restaurant for the breakfast which lasts until 11am, and at 10am, they were completely out of everything, plates, eggs, bacon, danish. Everything, and no place to sit. This went on for another 45 minutes, and my husband, who travels internationally at least 15 times a year, was very upset.
