Front desk seems messy with paper work and a guy was on his knees in flip flops looking on the internet on a computer next to front desk... Is there no business room? Totally important to have for such a central San Francisco tourist zone. Room was excellent. People were friendly. Service was perfect and accommodating.

We were in San Francisco for my husband's birthday, which I happened to mention upon checking in. After checking in we left the hotel to do some shopping and to grab lunch. When we returned to our room we found a huge piece of chocolate cake, "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the plate, and fresh fruit with compliments from the hotel. What a nice surprise. The days that followed were equally as nice with an incredibly attentive staff, a spotless room (and most importantly a spotless bathroom), plush towels, and an incredibly comfortable bed. No skimping on the delicious L'Occitane soaps, shower gels and hair care products either! On our final night we decided to dine in at MKT instead of venturing out. The restaurant is closed on Sunday, but you can still order off the menu in the hotel lounge, which we did. The vibe of the lounge is amazing. So dimly lit as if by candle light with comfortable leather sofas and a blazing fireplace. The food was incredible, and again the staff was fantastic. So few hotels still live up to the standards of true luxury. Four Seasons San Francisco will not disappoint. We will be back.

Great location to do s f from. Rooms were great although there was no real lobby to the hotel. Only negative was I could not take kids to the pool with me. If I knew that earlier I would have went to another hotel. Concierge turned out to be very helpful.

Four Seasons hotels have consistently given me the greatest service you can ask for in a hotel. This is the fourth or fifth one I've stayed at, and among the best. Friendly, helpful, and anticipating your needs. The hotel itself is nicely designed and our room on the top floor had city views. Facing west in San Francisco means watching incredible sunsets while the fog rolls in. Magic.

Staying at the Four Seasons was terrific---the staff never miss an opportunity to personalize your stay. We loved the fact that we could walk out the front door and either get our day started on foot or walk a very short distance to many forms of public transportation. This hotel is in a prime spot and offers a prime stay experience!

Just about everything about our 3 night stay was outstanding. Only complaint is the necessity to take two different elevators to get from our room to street level exit. This became annoying after a while. Otherwise, it was just about as perfect as it could get.

Our stay was perfect from start to finish. The staff couldn't be more wonderful. The room was spacious and spotless. The little things that were provided made for an exceptional stay; water by the bed at night, excellent coffee in the early mornings down in the lobby, the heavenly deep bathtub, slippers and robes and the plate of chocolates that were delivered to our room on our last night. We have stayed at many hotels over the years, in the same general area, but the Four Seasons has won our hearts forever!

My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons last weekend and had an excellent experience. Customer service is extremely important to me, and this hotel had the fantastic service expected of a Four Seasons-- from the doormen to the front desk to the restaurant staff. The location is conveniently on the same block as the Bart station, within walking distance to North Beach, Union Square and the Ferry Building. The rooms were well-appointed, clean, spacious, quiet, and had a "fresh" feeling to them. Our flight was delayed upon arrival, so we missed our dinner reservation in town. We skeptically dined at the newly opened MKT restaurant in the hotel (we usually try to avoid hotel dining), and we were pleasantly surprised by delicious, creative, local and fairly priced food. Again, the service was accommodating, warm and professional. I would stay at this hotel again.

The overall experience was one of the best I have had. My girlfriend and I stayed there for three nights during the month of May; the weather was great (for San Francisco), and so were the people! I will always stay at the Four Seasons when I go to SF; there really is nothing else like it.

My new wife and I stayed here for our mini honeymoon (going to Europe in August) and we couldn't have picked a better hotel! They included a nice amenity of champagne to welcome us and the overall service was impeccable yet friendly. The house car was available to take us to local restaurants, which was preferable to taxi service, and the concierge desk was very helpful in arranging reservations. We will definitely be returning!

My wife and I stayed for a long weekend to celebrate our 10th anniversary and we had a great time. The hotel and the rooms are beautiful and the service is excellent. Great turn-down service, they even fill the ice bucket for you. Parking is very pricey and hard to get to, but that goes for pretty much anywhere in San Francisco. Everything else was perfect. Union Square, Yerba Buena gardens, and lots of great restaurants and shopping are within walking distance.

Good location close to Union Square, shopping, restaurants. Nice hotel with typical Four Seasons high-quality service from the staff. I docked it one star because the hotel itself didn't feel quite as luxurious as some of the other Four Seasons I've stayed in, and didn't have that many amenities (nice gym, but it's a separate gym but the spa which is part of it is not that luxurious, for example). The restaurant was very expensive but not a stand-out -- just go out. The bar was closed as well for remodeling while we were there.

Our family (2 adults and 2 young kids) stayed at the hotel and had a wonderful experience. I stay at a lot of high-end hotels throughout the U.S. and the Four Seasons San Francisco deserves to be in the top ranks. The service was amazing and made our stay very special. We stayed in an Executive Suite, which worked out perfectly for our family. I would highly recommend this hotel. One of the best Four Seasons I have ever stayed in.

The staff was exceptional, room was very nice and set up for us with a made up roll up bed! They provided some free transportation for us allowing us to get to our dinner reservations in style. The fitness center was amazing! The staff there was extremely helpful, you must see that place. I really enjoyed staying there and would recommend it to all.

Two entrances to the hotel: one from the back alley way connected to 3rd (convenient if you want to go to the convention center) and one from Market Street. Both entrances bring you to elevators that take you to the lobby. From the lobby you take a separate set of elevators to your guest room. First I didn't like having to take two elevators but having the lobby on the 5th floor of the building is actually quite nice in the way that the lobby feels like a lounge for hotel guests only. In the morning, you can find coffee, tea, mini muffins, and a latte/cappuccino/hot chocolate machine at a self-service bar in the lobby. In the afternoon, they provide lemonade (at least on the day that we checked in). Service was absolutely phenomenal from check-in to check-out. Our room was cleaned twice a day with towels AND bathrobes changed, and toiletries replaced. Everyone was extremely helpful without being overbearing. I was particularly impressed with the efforts the hotel made to ensure that their guests stayed informed - e.g. a printed card suggested that we leave extra time between 7:30am-9am and 5:30pm-7:30pm catch a cab, and a printout was left under our door detailing upcoming street closures for the Giants parade that scheduled to go right in front of the hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for our 20th anniversary and were treated like royalty. The staff spoke to us by name and the concierge personnel really know their business. The hotel is neat, clean, comfortable and has an amazing spa and fitness facilities. there is a gentleman named Phillip who is one of several quite talented jewelers in the hotel's jewelry store. Phillip has a keen eye for detail and his pieces are magnificent. The jewels are a must see experience! The Four Seasons Hotel puts the lux in luxury!

Excellent hotel and staff. The room was big and the bathroom was very good. Housekeeping did an excellent job as well. Also, good location on Market St. Best health club in the city. My biggest complain would be having to pay for internet. It is absolutely ridiculous that a hotel that charges these type of room rates charges an additional amount for internet access! SFO is the tech capitol of the U.S. I don't want excuses like "our competitors like the Ritz and St. Regis also charge for internet." If you have status with Starwood you DO NOT pay for internet at the St. Regis. If you have status with Marriott I think you don't pay for internet at their hotels including the Ritz. If you have status at Hilton you don't pay for internet at their hotels including high end Conrads. I stayed in several Conrads in the last 9 months including Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, & Bali and DID NOT pay for internet at any of those hotels because of my status with Hilton. Include free basic high speed internet for all hotel guests. If someone wants to have super high speed internet for video, charge them an extra $10. The bar/lounge food could use some improvement. The overall appetizer selection is a little too foo foo. Include more local items such as crab cakes, calamari, large shrimp cocktail. Overall a great hotel.

After staying at the St. Regis on Fri., we booked The Four Seasons on Sat. This was strictly a "leisure trip", as my 12 year old son and I book 4-5 star hotels when my wife goes out of town on business. A very uppity attitude for a very mediocre hotel. Room was comfortable, but so is my sofa. No real show stopper amenities. If you have ever stayed at the St. Regis, you are well aware of what I mean. (when you can open and close the drapes from your bed, you got it goin' on!) As we had just came from The St. Regis and experienced their "open 24hr." Indoor lap pool with towels the size and feel of fluffy bed sheets, we simply wanted to use The Four Seasons pool......oh nay nay! I could, but my 12 year old son, nope. He could however use the Marriot's pool... Out the front door, left on Market and around the corner. Walk through the lobby and follow the signs....huh!!!! My son keeps a log book of each hotel we stay at. This was redonkulus!!! They have forever lost a future and past customer.This one ranks right down there with the most mediocre of them for the price. He usually spends more than I do as he gets to order room service and live it up. This whole experience kind of put a damper on that. We ended up eating in Japantown just to take our $$$ elsewhere. To top it off, the front desk asked which paper I would like at my door in the morning. The WSJ please, I replyed. Next morning, nada... Oh well.

Our room wasn't ready at 5pm when we checked in. The hotel staff was very courteous and apologetic about the situation.

The staff, from housekeeping to the concierge to the bellman were all outstanding. They were enuinely helpful and kind. The room was comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The bathroom was large and a great layout. The only thing I would change is to add another outlet in the bathroom or a mirror in the bedroom area so two people can get ready more easily. The workout facility was the largest and nicest I have found at any hotel and the lobby Entry and Lounge areas were decorated beautifully. Absolutely loved everything about this hotel.
