The only reason i marked cleanliness a 4 was because I booked a non-smoking room that smelled like smoke when you initially walked in. It was explained to me that they were converting over. However, as a non-smoker this is something noticable. They did try to remedy the situation for me to make it a little more pleasant.

Dirty rooms, hallways that smell like cigarettes, found trash in room. Front desk did not care to hear about the problems. Other guests had to change rooms due to dirty sheets and rooms not being cleaned.

I have stayed at this Wingate Hotel many times over the years and always, always the best thing about this hotel is their staff. Their people are always top notch. Room was very comfortable. They are upgrading and as soon as the room carpets are replaced the rooms will be terrific. Room fridge does a nice job of chilling your white wine. Microwaves […] work and are nice to have. The have the one cup coffee makers which I hate but you can also load up your coffee carafe downstairs and bring it back to the room. Over the years the only inconsistency is the room safe.....perfect for most laptops, Kindle, tons of stuff. A few years ago most of the safes didn't work and the repair was to expensive to have done...yet they continued to advertise "room safes." They are currently replacing the room safes but check to see if your room safe is bolted down. First room had the safe but wasn't bolted down. They immediately moved me to a room with a bolted safe. There is one thing that truly sucked and that is their breakfast selection: no fruit of any kind. No yogurt of any kind, nothing "healthy" what so ever. The entire breakfast, except for a few boxes of sugary cereal, was fatty, doughy junk food. Very disappointing. Past occasions they have offered a healthier selection for breakfast. I do recommend the Wingate by Wyndham in Longview, TX but primarily because their staff will do whatever they can to make you comfortable. Read more

Very polite hotel staff. They went out of their way to help provide my mom with extra pillows due to her bad back. The only negative is that the queen beds were a little to hard . Prefer a softer bed ! Would stay again.

We had a slight problem with check-in, but the desk staff worked hard to accommodate us. The hotel was nice and the rooms were clean and spacious. The cleaning staff took until 4 pm one day to finish cleaning our room, which was slightly inconvenient, but they were very appologetic. This is probably the only hotel I will be staying at when visiting the Longview area, the staff was top notch, the room included a dvd player which helped my kids calm down because they could watch their favorite movies, I forgot my cell phone charger when i checked out and upon returning to get it several hours later, the head of housekeeping tracked […] it down for me, the breakfast selection was second to none not to mention the rooms were well cleaned with lots of room and huge beds, I know I sound like a paid spokesman but I stayed at a comfort Inn not long ago and I was called by the front desk 3 different times to be out of my room by 11am and it was only 10:15!!!! so needless to say the fact that the Wyndam displayed the utmost professionalism in every area of their hotel has won me over as a repeat customer of their hotels..............Thanks Wyndam Read more

The hotel was very nice and comfortable. Swimming pool was clean and comfortable chairs to sit in to watch the children swim. Staff was very accomodating and polite. The only complaint I had was that they did not have enough linens / towels etc. Had to ask each evening as they were out when maid service came. This will not keep us from staying again […] though.
