It was in a great location close to Ft Desoto for my half marathon but the neighborhood wasn't good. The hotel is rundown and they said I got a redone room but it wasn't up to standards.

We were in a newly renovated room. The linoleum on the floor (no rug) was not firmly attached to the floor and bounced up as we walked on it. There was a small square of linoleum missing near the door. It was hard to find from the road as it was set back and the front electronic signing kept changing while we were looking for the hotel.

Sad to say this hotel was filthy. The room floors are not clean, the bathroom fan makes a terribly loud noise, you have to relocate the microwaves to find a plug-in for them to work. The TVs are poor quality. The cables are loosely hanging everywhere. The a/c unit is loud and does not cool the room as it should.

The Ocean Palms is HORRIBLE! It took us 1/2 hour to check in (with no line). The overall customer service was TERRIBLE. Our first room was not made up. The second room smelled like smoke (supposed to be a non-smoking room) and the floor turned our feet black. It was so disgusting, we did not even stay the night. DO NOT STAY HERE.

LAndscaping was blacl plastice with weeds, community was run down and scarey, same dead bug was in the bathroom for 2 days, small black bugs were in the tub to greet me every morning, business office printer did not work, staff couldn't say why, (Because there was no artridge in the printer, Duh) Business office smelled like urine. This hotel was very dirty and when we walked in our room it smelled musty. The bathroom had no towels in it and it looked like there were dirty towels still hanging from the back of the door. Front desk very understaffed. Property needs updating very badly. AC struggled to keep us cool. We only stayed in unit to sleep so didn't have to hear noisy a/c. Free breakfast was a joke. We had to wait about an hour before we were able to check in. None on the rooms was ready. Once we did get checked in 2 of my sisters cancelled their reservation because their room didn't have air and the other room was dirty. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! What an ugly, unkept ruin this dump was. Nothing had been cleaned nor repaired and the whole of it was falling to ruin. The outside was fenced in with shabby chain link, the carpets thru-out were gross, my toilet plugged in my room, we complained 4 times about the AC being broken before they did anything for us, and the breakfast […] room looked like the ruins of an old 70's lobby. I do not exaggerate. I would have walked the minute I opened up my room, but the sale at hotel.com was final and I would have lost my money for 2 nights.
