"Good but not good enough"
My wife and I were visiting Edmonton for a family friend's wedding and we stayed just one night at Executive Royal Inn Leduc-Nisku at the Edmonton Airport. Front desk staff were polite, helpful and professional and I rate them above average for their eagerness to assist. Our stay was comfortable and the room was of an acceptable standard. Negatives […] included the bare hardwood floor with no rug or carpet at all, which gave the room a cold, unwelcoming feeling. One could not walk barefoot comfortably in the room. Add this to the fact that there were no blinds over the windows, just thick curtains. This forced us to use lights instead of natural lighting during the day for the sake of our privacy. All I can say is that other hotels where I have stayed try harder to give you a comfy feeling in your room for the same price range. On the whole, good hotel, but unfortunately not good enough. Just a quick stopover on a long trip. The hotel is modern and the staff are very helpful. Convenient location by airport. The last time I stayed here a few months ago, the deadbolt in my room wouldn't engage & there is no security chain. I was told that the new wing of the hotel had settled and that all the door jams now don't line up. But they had […] security patrolling the hallways at night to compensate. This time I asked if it was fixed but apparently not so they put me in the old wing. The room was clean and comfortable. The only issue is road noise. I was surprised that for such a new modern hotel how much noise from outside was coming through the window. I could even hear little noises from cars parked in the lot below, and I was on the top floor. I think they cheaped out on the window quality when building this hotel. When we got to executive Royal inn there was a 2 hour wait before we found out that there are no rooms available at all.. So all 30 people were waiting for them to find us room in different hotel.. Finally 2.5 hours later they found us a room in some random motel.. We went there and the only room available was a smoking room.. Which my girlfriend is […] extremely allergic to it.. So went back to Royal executive inn waited for 30 more Mins and finally got a room at 2am at Western budget inn.. Which was nearly close of bieng what I paid for.. I would like to apologize for the inconveniences you encountered during your most recent stay with us; we have removed our hot tubs and steam showers to make better use of the space with an updated work-out and free-weight facility. Unfortunately all mentions of the spa area was supposed to be removed from our online site(s), this is not the case so I will inform our online team to get these removed as right away. As well we will get rid of the printed materials that are in the rooms and replace it with a more up to date version. I have passed on your concerns regarding the issues with the hot water to our Chief Engineer and he will look into this matter. He is a little concerned as we just purchased brand new hot water tanks this year and this makes us believe that one of them may have a flaw.
