The Convent Hotel is located on one of the main streets in Amsterdam and within easy walking distance to the Centraal Train station and Dam Square-so public transportation is a snap. The hotel is well kept and the staff is very friently. The one complaint about the staff is that they do not seem very knowledgeable about typical tourist activities in Amsterdam and we didn't find a concierge staff member to help with some of our questions. Our booking through hotels.com did not include the breakfast, which looked wonderful and was expensive, so we found a lovely little care within a block or two from the hotel for our breakfasts. Lots of tours seem to use the hotel, so the staff is very comfortable speaking in English with everyone.The entrance to the hotel faces the very busy street, but the rooms are all in the back of the hotel and are very quiet. We enjoyed our stay. I would suggest trying to get the breakfast included in the hotel price.

The hotel was clean, nice, the staff friendly and helpful, especially the Concierge. The location was great, within walking distance of many restaurants, and things to see in Amsterdam.

The room was very small and a bit tight for friends. It would be nice for a couple. But the room had a cozy private terrace. And the staff was wonderful! The two desk personnel we encountered were helpful, went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed for a great visit and made a point of having what we needed before we knew we needed it. The hotel was clean, the food just right and always a fresh cup of coffee waiting for us. I would return without thinking twice.

We stayed here since all the hotels are booked in this tulip season. It is rated as a 4 star, but appearance seems to be a 2 star...no more than that. "Close to airport but that might be all."
Our stay was brief so the stay satisfied that requirement. It's 5 euro per person to and from Shiphol Airport and the Shuttle made it convenient to get back where we needed to be but the costs were high in our opinion just for those benefits. If your looking to head into town the train wasn't easily found to provide cost effective transport to get there […] and the cab fare was about 50 euro to get a better place to eat. So eat at the hotel for 60-70 euros and be done with it. Check out your location requirements as the train looked to be a decent option to get closer to things you might want to see when your in Amsterdam. Read more

"Great location - watch for extras...."
Nice "business" class hotel. We pre-paid the room and the rate was great BUT they made me pay city tax as an extra on check out. Shuttle was free which was a bonus to get there - they charge you if you go back. Breakfast is a rip-off but there is no alternative....I suggest it is cheaper to eat at the airport!! I will use it again for convenience.

"Service in resturant @ NH Schiphol"
The service at the restaurant was very poor. Perhaps, as an American, we expect good customer service. I sat and waited for a server, but after 15 minutes, walked up to the bar thinking perhaps I was to order there. Then one of the servers said she'd "be with you in 2 minutes." 5 minutes later, I ordered my meal. No one came to ask if I wanted anything […] else, so had to stop another server as he was going by to order another drink. "Not a great stay"
This hotel is by the airport, therefore, inconvenient to the city center. They write on the outside of the building that they have great service, but this is a marketing tactic. This was the only hotel (out of 5) where our reservation was messed up. Our hotels.com confirmation showed 2 nights and the hotel showed 1 night. The gals at the desk said that […] they would take care of it. They took a copy of our confirmation, but they didn't change the information in the computer. So we were called in the morning about when we were checking out-we explained everything again and they said that they would take care of it again. Then we went to the pool, but our keys didn't work because they only encoded them for the one night at check in. So we had to wait in huge lines (in swimsuits) to get this clarified again. The gal (same gal from night before) typed away in the computer saying that she fixed everything again. We went to the pool, but the steam room and tanning booth didn't work (also hot tub is not hot,only same temp as the pool), so we had to go down to the desk again (no courtesy phone at the pool-only one for emergencies). After waiting in line again, they said that they would send someone up to fix these-well, no one appeared. Then we went down again after 45 minutes, waited in line again, they said that they didn't know where the person was, but they would call again, after 45 minutes more we left-no one showed up. Then later on in the evening, about 7pm, we got yet another call from the desk asking when we were checking out? We had to explain again that the reservation was for 2 nights. There first airport shuttle doesn't run until 6am, so we had to incur another charge to the airport for our early morning flight. There were at least 2 to 3 other rooms waiting for cabs at this time, so early flights are not that unusual-they should have 24 hour shuttle service. "Near airport"
This hotel was convenient and very good service. I had an early flight the next day and chose this one due to its proximity to the airport. The shuttle to and from the airport is convenient or they can arrange a taxi. I was easily able to commute to and from the airport to use the trains into Amsterdam. Free wifi is great in the lobby and the gym was […] very good as well. This was a business area so not anything to see really. Mc Donalds is across the street for a quick bite with free wifi and they are open 24 hours. Food at the hotel was kinda pricey. "FEES, FEES AND MORE FEES"
Stayed here for 2 nights recently. Had 3 people in our room. We were charged an extra person fee. Then we found out that there was a 5 euro per person fee for the shuttle, per way! So if you are staying there a few nights and want to use anything at the airport or to the train station, be prepared to pay 5 euros for every trip. Then we found out there […] was a fee for parking at the hotel. If you plan on eating dinner, drive 3 kms to hoorfdorp. There are a few really good restaurants there and you dont have to pay the outrageous prices of the hotel restaurant. Its almost cheaper to hire a cab to drive you there. The room has dust bunnies everywhere and we think they just held a rodeo in the hallway cause the carpet was in horrible condition. 3.50 euros for a 20 ounce soda from the vending machine! "Convenient for quick stay near airport."
The location is not desirable for a visit into old Amsterdam but great for heading out on a flight after a night. The swimming pool was smaller than expected from the photos, the hot tub was not hot very warm, the sun bed didn't work so we were not impressed with the property amenities.

Close to Amsterdam Airport, this hotel caters to the traveling crowd. It's location in a boring and grey part of the world matters less than fast access to the tarmac. It has the feel of a decent business hotel, much better than nearby chains like Ibis, Mercure and Bastion. My only gripe is with the state of maintenance. Eating choices are extremely limited and the food at the Hotel restaurant is very over priced with the average food. Next best choice is at the McDonald near by. The food department was a big disappointment.
"NH Schiphol Airport"
NH Schiphol Airport is an convenient airport hotel. To get there you need a shuttle, but there is regular shuttle service. Interestingly, they make you pay for the shuttle service if you are NOT arriving or leaving, but want to get back to Schiphol to get a train to downtown Amsterdam., which will take -all in all- about half an hour.

"Pay for parking"
I did not expect a hotel property to charge for parking in it's own parking lot. Otherwise it was a good hotel right off of an Autobahn, with bus service to the airport / train station. It was a quiet area and I could not hear planes landing or taking off.

The location was convenient - we took the train to from the Hague to Schipol and then used the hotel's free shuttle service to get to and from Schiphol. For the return shuttle to the airport, you need to ask for a free voucher at the front desk or you will be charged five Euros per person. Clean, modern and quiet with a reasonably comfy bed. Close to airport. They say they have free shuttle, but you have to pay 5 euros per person to use the return to the airport. The rooms were very nice, but the halls were smelly. They did provide free coffee and tea in the room.

"Was a Beautiful Hotel. . ."
BUT the staff was pretty snobby. Didn't like their attitude at all. It seemed like asking them anything was just . . .an annoyance. But other than that, the hotel is so beautiful. The room was one of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever been it. It was chilled, the bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was very refreshing. "New rooms nice, old are dated"
I occasionally work in a nearby office, so stay in the nh or best western opposite. The nh used to be my preferred choice, but not sure any more. The hotel is in the middle of a industrial / office estate next to a mcdonalds, so nothing much to do. Redecorated rooms are very nice, but some rooms have not and are outdated. Wifi is free downstairs, but […] not in the rooms (free everywhere in best western). I have eaten in the restaurant and it was nice but expensive. Breakfast is also expensive, so I tend to go to mcdonalds. They have also started charging for the shuttle bus, which they try to add whether you've use the bus or not. Read more
"NH Hotel Schiphol Airport - money well spent"
I have stayed at the hotel for two nights, the second night an unplanned stay after my flight was cancelled due to a snowstorm. The first night I had the "Executive Room" on the main floor, which was very spacious, well equipped, and very reasonably priced. For the second night, I had a standard room (paid for by the airline), and that was adequate […] as well. The food in both the restaurant and the bar was quite good, and the staff (reception, restaurants, house-keeping) very courteous and helping. The only complaint I have was getting to the hotel using the shuttle from the airport on the second day - the bus was a seven-seater, and it was not running on time (due to heavy snowfall), so by the time it arrived there were too many people trying to get on. Glimrende mulighed for overnatning tæt på Schiphol Airport. Hotellet har alle faciliteter. Der er mulighed for at medbringe hund. Gratis shuttlebus til og fra lufthavnen (selv om hjemmesiden nævner at der skal betales ekstra for dette). Gratis trådløst internet i lobbyen.

Hotel geeft een goede deal namelijk overnachting, gratis vervoer naar Schiphol en gratis parkeren voor maximaal 21 dagen. Al met al voor een redelijke prijs. Typisch een doorgaanshotel voor Schipholreizigers.

Achei o Hotel bom em sua área social, mas o quarto é espartano, antigo e sem luxo algum. Não voltaria a me hospedar no mesmo hotel pois procuraria algo um pouco mais aconchegante.

Avevo scelto di soggiornare in questo albergo ritenendo che fosse all'altezza dei molti altri NH hotel già conosciuti in Europa e comodi non solo per la loro posizione ma per i comfort che offrono ad un prezzo spesso vantaggioso. Tuttavia la delusione è stata estrema in quanto l'hotel ha delle camere fatiscenti e poco pulite. La posizione è molto scomoda […] trovandosi in una zona industriale che non offre nulla anche rispetto all'aeroporto che resta comunque molto distante L'estrema desolazione in cui si trova la struttura ti impone di appoggiarti all'albergo anche per comprare una bevanda o un caffè i cui prezzi sono carissimi. Unico ipotetico vantaggio è la presenza di un bus navetta tra l'albergo e l'aeroporto che parte ogni 40 minuti. Read more

Me pareció de buena calidad el hotel pero bastante ruidosos los cuartos se oía claramente el despegue y aterrizaje de los aviones. Por otro lado el internet gratuito de la recepción resultó bastante lento. El buffet del desayuno es excelente y la comida en general de buena calidad.
