This hotel is located on Canal Street in not far from the Superdome and Arena. We thought it would be a good place to stay due to the advertisement on hotels.com. It was horrible. The people at the desk gave us problems from the start. They told us that their parking lot was empty and we would need to let them park our car in an offsite garage for $22, even though it was advertised as $14. Then they wanted us to sign a waiver that even though they were parking our car offsite they wouldn't be responsible for any damages if anything happened while it was parked by them. Then we were assigned to what was suppose to be a Queen Suite, but was actually a Queen Closet with a TV. That smelled like fresh paint. That looked like the maids just put clean linen on the bed, but didn't do anything else. We happened to take a look out the window only to find that our view was actually the top of roof with a big air conditioning unit 2 feet from the window. The toilet ran so loud we couldn't take to anyone on the phone. The room didn't have a iron/ironing board. We called for one that didn't work properly and damaged my husband's one shirt that he brought to wear so we had to go out and purchase another prior to attending the functioned that we drove to New Orleans to attend. We were finally able to get enough attention to talk to the Hotel Manager. I can't remember his name, but he did come to our room to see what he could do to help. He explained that he would move us to another room so after our function, we gathered our belongings and moved to two other rooms that were much nicer and comfortable. However, because of all the confusion at the beginning, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The continental breakfasts were fine. It's too far from Harrah's. Lots of police arrests across the street and on Canal Street. There were two bus stops too close to the hotel with many local residents commuting.

The room had a peculiar smell. The shower valve did not work an we had cold showers. The hallway outside our door was crammed with furniture that we had to make our way through. I had to physically move furniture to access the ice machine. The neighborhood was very sleazy and we had to pay the hotel 14.00 to park in their parking lot. My wife and I just needed a place to stay for one night in order to accompany a friend of ours to a surgery at the Tulane Medical Center, we chose this hotel because of it's close proximity and were not disappointed. For the price which was much lower than those a few blocks away we were satisfied. We were able to park our vehicle in the parking garage and not use it again till we needed to leave because it was only 1/2 block from the Medical Center and less than that from the parking garage. Fortunate for us the Clarion ran out of parking just before I got there ($14.00), so I had to use the parking garage on Saratoga St. behind the hotel for ($6.25/day), poor me :)

This is located 4 blocks from Bourbon street in a kind of sketchy neighborhood. It is fine for guys, if I was a single young lady I might be worried about safety in the neighborhood. The hotel room itself was small but nice, but the main reason I picked this hotel was for the wifi, which had less than one bar of reception on my computer and basically didn't work outside the lobby. The hotel staff weren't particularly helpful and I needed to be online a few times for work. On the flip side, they were polite and courteous when I asked for a few hours for late check out, since the hotel is so close to the action in New Orleans you'll be able to stay out really late. One more beef: they started vacuuming the hall at 8:30 am. This ticked me off because who is up at 8:30am on a weekend in New Orleans? I could have used a little more sleep. Get a central vac!
