It was our first time in Barcelona ( me and my fiance), and we felt like we made the right choice in hotels. it was in a great location, 2 blocks away from the metro. even if you decide not to take the metro, it is within walking distance to la rambla (about 15 min), and to barceloneta (about 20 min). the staff was great, and the rooms were clean. the […] only thing is at night, it could be a little noisy, hearing the other patrons get back to their rooms, and the wifi connection in our room was ok. we got great wifi if we were near the bathroom, but other than that, it was overall great! highly recommended! Thought it was close to my cruise berthing port, wrong! Taxis are too small for more than 4 passengers with luggage. Staff all spoke English, helpful, courteous. Would stay again, fair price for location.

The hotel is very clean and it has no carpets anywhere. A clock in the room would have been handy. WI is free but very slow. Hotel receptionists were very helpful and professional. The location could not have been better for a tourist visit. The walls are paper-thin and guests can hear every footstep outside their walls, as well as neighborhood noise.

This hotel is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport and a 5 minute taxi ride to the cruise ships. It is about a 5 minute walk to Las Ramblas. The hotel staff is friendly, the room are clean and the neighborhood is safe and full of restaurants, theatres and other stores. I high;y recommend this location. It is a great value.

The hotel was extremely noisy with doors slamming and outside noise all hours of the night. Avoid the Santander ATM machine below. Crooks are watching to rob you. I saw it first hand. Hotel Parallel is friendly, clean, and affordable. We found it to be roughly the same price as a hostel in Barcelona, with more privacy and daily room cleaning. The beds were not extremely comfortable but did the job. Our room had a TV, safe, decent closet space, a fair-sized bathroom, and multiple power outlets. It is slightly annoying that the room […] only has power when you are there (the room key goes into a slot to activate electricity), which means you can't charge a laptop or cell phone while you are gone. The walls are also a bit thin, so we sometimes heard people yelling either on the street outside or in the hallway near the elevator. The desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and there was always at least one person who spoke English fluently. WiFi access is free, though a bit slow. There is one computer in the lobby as well. Beware the continental breakfast -- we thought it was free at first, then later learned it was 9.5 Euros per person. Hotel is ideally located, on a main street, with metro stations close. Supermarket is right up the street. Lots of small cafes and restaurants around. La Ramba is very close. Location right off main street may cause noise problems for some, but was not a problem for me. Right place at right price.

The hotel is just slightly off Parallel and along a side street. We arrived at night time and had to walk past homeless people sleeping at the side of the road on the approach to the hotel. Wasn't really expecting that but as it turns out the street seemed safe enough. The bed wasn't that comfortable and the furniture in the room was basic. The bathroom […] however was luxurious, far beyond what I expect from a 2 star hotel. I could actually dry my hair with the hair drier! Location is brilliant, places to eat just along the road and Metro station about 1 minute walk away. Didn't deal with staff much but they were helpful when we did and offered us a luggage store for use after check out. At the rate we paid I can't really complain about this hotel at all. Read more
