Bally's Atlantic City

Because Bally's is a 10-minute walk from Caesars, where we went for a wedding over our two-day stay, I can't give Bally's the bottom-tier rating...but it was close. Check-in time was 3 PM; by 5:15 PM, the hotel still hadn't cleaned a king-bed room in time for me to check in. The staff didn't seem that worried about the 50-person check-in line, so having […] just two (TWO!!!) people ready to check-in non-preferred guests was a joke. The toilet didn't work in our room, in the Claridge tower. The hotel smelled of smoke everywhere except the room. The room door was not sealed, so at one point late at night, I could hear someone BREATHING outside of our door while waiting for an elevator (naturally, my room was right across from the elevator). Oh, and speaking of elevators--maybe the worst I have ever seen in a hotel, five elevators but three were not working during my stay, and you had to enter a key card to get to any of the hotel floors, one swipe per floor. The only dissapointment was the type of room I requested and reserved was not ready when I checked in. I had to settle for another type of room or wait until the room I requested was ready. After a 3 hour trip I was tired and just wanted to get to my room so, I settled.

I have always loved Ballys but they have taken out so many games its no longer fun. I have been going to Ballys and its affiliate hotels for many many years and have yet to win anything its very discouraging.

We were first-timers in Atlantic City for a 2 night 3 day mini vacation and Bally's met our hotel needs. It was a clean, comfortable place to stay (we had the "classic king" room in the Dennis Tower. Other guests we shared an elevator with had nothing but complaints for the Claridge Tower so I'd recommend making sure you get a room in the Dennis Tower […] if possible.) Yes, the hotel looks like it was last decorated in the 80s but we didn't go on vacation to stay in the hotel. The back of the casino at Bally's opens up onto the Boardwalk and the other Boardwalk casinos and properties of interest (The Pier shops at Caesar's, Central Pier, Steel Pier, mini golf, etc) are within 5-15mins walking distance--very convenient! One thing to keep in mind, however, is that Bally's (and the other casinos for that matter) are in an area where you can go from a great part of town to a rundown, not-so-great part of town within 1 city block. However, we used the boardwalk (well-lit at night!) for most of our nighttime traveling and felt perfectly safe there. Read more

It was horrible, room was tiny. Felt like I was in a housing project with the lowest class of people imaginable. Seriously saw things that I thought were only horrible stereotypes. Hotel security ignored homeless in and out. Checked out and ran straight for Caesars. 100x better experience. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

Long check In only had one person checking in over 20 people with random employees everywhere . Charge for wifi . My key stopped working to get in room. Food is horrible as well and very over priced plus room service gave me wrong food. Breakfast buffet for two was 70.00 and was very disappointing.

Bally's was nice, though the people at the desk were less than helpful until we strong-armed them into giving us the room we reserved in the first place. The room was clean, but the maintenance of the hotel is shockingly lacking given the full price. We did not pay anywhere near full price and went during the week at the end of March (the ultimate low […] season--the room was only $40 per night!!). The cafe when open (watch out and don't expect there to be much to eat in the way of a sit-down mean after about 10 or 11pm on a weeknight) had a very decent breakfast, but not so much could be said of the other restaurants which are over-priced and generally sub-par at best. Do be sure to hit up the tribute show which includes an impressive Stevie Wonder and rather funny and playful duo that does the Blues Brothers. It was well worth the $35 if you've never been to a show like this before, especially on a slow night during the week. Read more

Better then Harrahs Resort,too far! Ballys smelled so good as soon as you walk in,welcoming! And the pool made it great for my son! I had stood at Harrahs my first two nights and when checking out decided to stay an extra night so we just randomly chose Ballys. We were pleased from the start it was right on the boardwalk, we were so far from everything […] when at the Harrahs the only fun thing to do to night was the pool party it seemed and that was for adults so I didn't.go becuse I had my son. But ballys pool is for kids untill 5 even though the pool needed to be a bit more clean it was fun. Also people were much friendlier in Ballys. Might I add the view from our window at the Dennis tower over looking the beach was beautiful, especially to wake up too. The rooms were much more modern and a flat screen which Harrahs lacked. And they had plenty of cable channels which made me happy at night. The beds were so comfy too. Ballys is for sure going to see me again! Read more

The hotel was nice and had everything we needed. However we had a room full of kids next to us and they were running around screaming and making so much noise. We called the front desk to ask for a new room or have somebody ask them to quite down and they said they coul not help us. We knocked on the door to see if they could quite down but no answer […] and they kept yelling and running around. This started at 6 am and went till 11 pm. Ballys really need to offer a solution for people who have noise complaints a casino is for adults to have fun and stay out late and sleep in not be out late and woke up by screaming kids at 6am.
