"Odd room configuration"
The hotel overall was pretty good, if not a little outdated in decor. The room, however, was very oddly arranged. I had a king bed with sofa bed for 2 adults, 2 children, 1 baby. The sofa bed, when unfolded, left about 3 inches between the wall and end of the bed. Since this takes up the entire sitting area, it was very difficult to maneuver between […] the bedroom and kitchen area without climbming over the bed. Also, there was no room next to the King bed to put a standard pack-n-play. I've stayed at a lot of hotels with the pack-n-play without having this problem. Ultimately, the only place to put the pack-n-play was in the little hallway containing the sink and counter outside the bathroom. Finally, the TV was located on a short dresser between the bedroom and sitting room. The TV was too big for the little stand which made the edges of the TV stick out. Hotel staff was great as always. The bed was too hard for our comfort. The chlorine level in the hot tub was so extreme that it bothered our eyes. It would be nice to see the Marriott hotels switch from chlorine pools to salt water pools. Less harsh chemicals and cheaper in the long run. I was disappointed. We went to Pool and there were no towels and the girl at the desk said they were out. We also only had 3 towels in the room and there were 5 of us. Went to front desk and they didn't have any bath towels either and wouldn't have any until 8:30am the next morning!!! We were in town from Ohio for a Rugby tournament the weekend of May 3 - 5. Megan was at the front desk when we arrived and she was extremely helpful, not only with directions, but suggesting places to go and restaurants to eat at. She was so very pleasant and an asset to the hotel. I would also like to compliment a young man who was at the front desk […] Saturday evening. Unfortunately, I forgot his name. Kevin, perhaps? There was a rugby game Sunday morning, and I inquired if there was a fee if we got back after the noon check-out. We were stopping by to see the University of Notre Dame. It was down the street. Great location! Close to shopping. The room was very clean but noisy. The comfort of the room was excellent. The employees could not have been more kind. The lady serving the breakfast is obviously over-worked but nowhere have I seen an employee who thoroughly enjoys her work. However, there is a crack in the wall of the shower and it is obvious that water is seeping through that crack possibly damaging the structure.
