The balcony guest room we had was huge, with two queen size beds and lots of floor space. Furnishings were luxurious and comfortable. View was spectacular. We love the multiple swimming pools and nature trail, and the lobbies are also spacious and comfortable. We hope to play golf the next time we come back!

This place was absolutely gorgeous with spectacular view of the hills and golf courses. Did not play golf, rather we enjoyed the spa. Buffet food was mediocre. Everyone was very friendly. Need to clean vents and fans, just looks unkempt and makes me wonder what else needs attention. Yeah, parking seemed a problem but the valet parkers were great. We recommend and do plan a return visit.

The room was nice, but for the price there were way too many extra charges. Valet parking was a $25.00, which I felt should have been complimentary since self parking was full after 7. Of course the mini bar was extra, but they left small jars of cashews and jelly beans out ehich were 12.00 each. they made it look like a comlimentary gift. The doors slammed way too loud in morning.

Since the recent remodel, the Barton Creek resort has become a first-rate getaway in every aspect. My wife and I couldn't be more pleased. Atop a hill overlooking a vast, wooded valley in the Texas Hill Country west of Austin, the view outside our room was breathtaking. (We paid a few bucks extra for a room with a view. It was worth every penny.) We went mainly for a romantic getaway and were very pleased. The staff was warm and eager to assist. Our room was big, very clean, lovely, and quite comfy. We will definitely return.

I paid a very decent rate through hotels.com, so I was excited to visit this resort & spa. The registration staff was friendly upon arrival. The amenities were great. My only concern was with the cleanliness of the room. The curtains had very disturbing stains all over them. The pillows and duvet had an overwhelming stench of a particular male cologne (not mine). I asked the front desk to have them changed and I signaled for the maid service to change the linens. It was not done. The carpet was laid very poorly. The bathroom needed updating and the shower drain was very slow. I was standing in dirty bath water when I finished showering. Overall, the resort is nice and it was probably just our particular room, but it affected my stay and by default, this review.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 29, 2009
The room i was in had a horrible musty smell, but they couldn't move me to another room as the hotel was full. I opened my windows and after a few hours the smell was manageable. The beds were too soft and quite lumpy, which was a surprise for such a "nice" resort. My cell phone did not work in my hotel room, so i had to walk outside to use it.The key to my room didn't work and i had to go to the front desk 3 times and wait in a "long" line each time to get it resolved - it was a long walk. The lady at the front was rude and unaccommodating. She basically said "sorry" and turned around. I will NEVER stay here again. There are many nice hotels in Austin that i've never had a problem with. Actually, this is my first time to post a negative comment.

We couldn't believe we were still in Texas. The staff is friendly. The rooms clean. The only draw back I would say would be that they need another pool...an adults only pool. Other than that...two thumbs up, way up!

We were really blown away by the room we got for the money we paid! The resort itself is by far the nicest place we've ever stayed! There were really only two things that were disappointing: first, there's only one outdoor pool, and it was insanely crowded. For a resort that size, we were really surprised they didn't have more than one outdoor pool; second, we asked for a toothbrush and were told it would be brought to our room and it never was. We probably won't visit again unless it's not on a weekend, but only because we enjoy a less crowded, more laid back feel!

I purposely booked my stay at this resort for the hill country views and the pool. Very nice room. Very nice hotel. Very nice fitness center. I travel a lot and was surprised at the lack of service by the employees. Just a little extra touch would have made it a spectacular stay. Check in was quick; check out was not. Maid service did not answer phone, left message. Had to call front desk after 45 minutes, but then I had my foam pillows immediately. Room service was fast and good. Pool side service was lacking and drinks are pricey, but hey, it is pool side service. Restaurant grill was overpriced and not kid friendly. We would not go back and opted for room service instead or burgers at the pool. Very nice bell service and valet staff. Surprised they offered self parking and had a garage, which was very nice to protect the vehicle with Texas Spring storms. Overall, a very nice stay, but just a shame they cannot improve on their customer service - then it would be remarkable! Biggest complaint is doors to rooms are solid, and they SLAM everytime they close. When your neighbor leaves, you know it!

The resort is very nice, and the golf course looked great; although I did not have time to play. I only stayed for 2 nights; after my first night, my room was the only one without a morning paper outside the door, and when we returned late in the afternoon, our room was not cleaned. After calling housekeeping, they brought us additional towels, then showed up to clean my room after 5:00 PM while we were getting ready to go out for the night, so I sent them away.
