The room was really dirty. Was dusty all over. The telephone did not work. The soap dish was broken. The shower curtain was dirty. The screen above the bathroom was removed. Mold on the tile. We spoke to front desk and did not do anything about it. Was very disappointed. The next day when we got to our room, a paint tin was held to hold the door open. […] There was a paint tin on the toilet and there was a Blow dryer plugged in laying on the floor. I have pictures of this. I will post it them. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Some things are just tacky!"
Hotel is very nice The only thing that is really tacky is their charge for internet whether you use it or not, Just include it in your rate and no one will be the wiser This way people are really annoyed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I booked a room with a queen bed. There were three of us so I asked for a roll away and was told there was no guarantee so I brought an air mattress. I told them at the front desk (after waiting in line for an hour) that they could use the roll away for another guest but I needed sheets. After an hour I called housekeeping who informed me they HAD NO […] SHEETS! I asked for a manager and was supposedly forwarded to one who I later found out was the concierge. I never received sheets or a blanket. I was uncomfortable all night. The upper deck was great for the fireworks and the personnel at the pool were much more professional that the so called management. Breakfast was good though.. Nice enough hotel room, but was disappointed with the hidden wi-fi charge of $9.95. Very close to the DuPont Circle Metro, which was a plus!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location..amazing rooftop..hotel needs reno"
I enjoyed my stay, but was disappointed in the very dated room. I understand that the hotel is about to undergo a large renovation/modernization, but there are some things that should be maintained up to the minute the renovation begins. The toilet was rotated about 10 degrees so it was awkward to use comfortably. The TV worked well, but was about 10 […] years old. there was no mirror near the desk in the room.. The elevator doors repeatedly closed on me and the members of my group. The valets for parking were particularly friendly.Rooftop pool, bar and bathrooms are the best part. additional $10 for internet is overpricedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My stay was for only the evening for a business event so I only managed to use the hotel for sleeping and a shower. I cannot make a comment for the breakfast as I left before then. However, the doors to each of the hotel rooms do not have the same soundproofing qualities as the walls, so you could hear what was going on in the hallway as you tried to […] sleep. "Convenient location - not so great staff"
Embassy Row Hotel was the perfect location for my trip. Right next to Dupont Circle. However, there was always and incredibly long line at the front desk. That, coupled with how slow the workers were, meant it took a while to check in/ask questions/check out. Not a deal breaker. Also, the room smelled faintly of smoke. But overall, for the Hotels.com […] price I paid ($120 a night) it was a good deal. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, broken elevators, bad food"
Overall a very nice hotel. Lived the rooftop pool. The elevators are all broken but are scheduled to be fixed within 3 months (inconvenient, but not the end of the world). The breakfast was not ideal- nothing healthy! No fruit, yogurt, or gf/vegetarian options.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"$10 Extra Fee?"
Arrived to find out that this hotel charges Hotels.com customers an add-on fee for "internet, gym, and incidentals." I asked to waive the fee, as I did not intend to use these services, and because I had already paid for the room as was not notified of extra charges before paying for the room. The lobby was full of people who had come to use some of […] the few remaining hotel rooms available since the airport had storm cancelations. After going round and round with the front desk manager even to the point of sending him my confirmation email as proof that I was not notified of extra charges, I finally spoke to the General Manager about the charges. He explained that not unlike a resort, there were charges for incidentals listed in the fine print. I explained that 1) the fine print was intentionally opaque about $10 being added to every bill, and 2) charging unknowing and desperate people who just stepped out of a cab is nothing short of organizational thievery. They credited me back the $10. I will not be staying at this location in the future. I would not have minded paying an extra $10... but I insist on being informed of mandatory hotel charges when I clear my payment with hotels.com. That is reasonable for all three parties. Surprise charges are never a winner with customer service! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Manager needs a Customer Service Class"
Overall this hotel was a nice stay. We had five people in our room. Prior to our trip I called the front desk directly to make sure that we could have a roll away bed in the room. This person assured me that I could and that I could request it upon check in. Upon check in I was told by the manager that it was against the fire code to put a roll away […] bed in our room. Long story short the manager was so mechanical in his responses to me with no compassion nor customer service skills that I will never stay nor recommend this hotel to any friend/colleague. He pretty much said I was lying about calling and getting the roll away information and kept saying "I can neither deny nor confirm that". He definitely has the DC political bull down!! So one of sons had to sleep on the floor. Housekeeping sent up extra pillows and sheets but when we asked for an extra blanket they were out. Really?!?!? Oh and if you are considering staying here make sure you ask if the elevators are finished begin renovated. It would have been faster and cooler to walk to the roof. Kudos to the other front desk and hotel personnel as they were the saving graces in this hotel's customer service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"At Least They Have A Pool"
This was not a pleasant stay. Three reasons: 1. There were blood drops on the sheets; which we did not discover until we were packing our bags to leave. 2. The overnight front desk attendant was rude. (A friend of mine left his keys at the front desk since we were going. When we came back to the hotel, the attendant said they did not have them. After […] she found them, she literally threw them at him.) 3. We went down for breakfast at 9:45 and there was very little food left. Overall hotel was in great location, chk in/out fast, friendly staff. Room was clean, but needs perhaps some updating. The Embassy Row Hotel was possibly a good hotel, in the 90's. Now it just appears dated. Our TV was a big box television. There were not enough outlets in the room, so I needed to decide between charging my phone, watching TV, and ironing my clothes. I ironed in silence. Our AC was broken upon entry, so we needed to wait 3 hours for a maintenance individual […] to fix it. The room was clean. The bathroom was small. We booked the hotel because of the new rooftop pool and bar. Pool looked nice, but the bar and kitchen were both closed. With no explanation given as to why. Located on embassy row in DC is a nice touch, but we did not book for the sightseeing. I was thoroughly disappointed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I had a great stay. Although hotel a bit outdated, the room was nice and clean, staff was welcoming. They already renovated a rooftop pool and it was very nice to chill around the pool. Guests can have a snack and a drink too. The hotel is going under renovation so I hope it will be even better after that. Great location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay was OK, the pool was relatively small, the breakfast was great but short. Upon arrival they have underground parking but it is only valet. "Good hotel, not great, extra fees"
The first thing I was told upon check in was that there are additional nightly fees to the hotels.com price. I received a package and was charged an additional package fee. "Very Nice Stay......loved the rooftop pool/bar"
We enjoyed our stay and had a very nice time. We really enjoyed walking around the area and Embassy Row. Stayed at the Embassy Row hotel for 3 days, 2 nights. I was a little nervous because there were several bad reviews for the hotel but I must say I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The hotel staff were very nice and hospitable. The bellman brought my bags in and got me a taxi. Also, there was a crazy storm one night so I couldn't go out for dinner. […] They were able to provide me with delivery menus. My room was clean with a great view of the cute neighborhood. I actually saw a man outside of his house painting on an easel! The neighborhood is super cute and charming. The location and price of this hotel can't be beat. I was able to walk to the White House, National Mall, Washington Monument (etc). Also, the Dupont Circle Metro station is right around the corner. The recently renovated rooftop pool was gorgeous. It's not large but they made good use of the space. I enjoyed sitting up there reading. I didn't have any food or drinks when I was up there. There's only one real complaint I have about this place. The complimentary breakfast was terrible. There were a lot of offerings (eggs, sausage, hash browns, asst pastries) but everything was pretty gross. Even my cranberry juice was watery and the coffee was overly strong. Regardless of the breakfast situation I would still definitely stay here again. Plus they seem to be continuously renovating so I'm sure it will get even better. We were looking for a convenient place to stay to see a Nats game-wanted something close to the Metro. This location was perfect! Metro station 1 block away with lots of activity and restaurants in the area. The bed was awesome! Also got to see July 4th fireworks from the pool deck on the roof! Amazing! Breakfast included and it is a real breakfast […] buffet with eggs, sausage, oatmeat etc...very good. 2 cons though...check-in was a disaster - only 2 staff on front desk with about 20 parties waiting to check in. The room I had was older compared to others that I saw. I was in 233, worst view ever. I got to look at the courtyard of rusty air vents. The ceiling in front of the bathroom had water damage. "Quiet Hotel at Dupont Circle DC"
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful they took pride in their work! The roof top pool was very nice, unfortunately it can be closed for private parties during your stay so beware. Parking was expensive for hotel guests. Rooms were large enough and the interior view were very quiet. WiFi cost of $10 per room per night was excessive, […] this made the room cost less of a deal. This is a great hotel. I've stayed here 10 or more times. It is not new but is being renovated. I have not problem with that but some might need most up to date everything. I need the Metro & buses. "My mostrecent Staty at Embasy Row Hotel"
Well it was not as nice when stayed there last year. First of all the hotel changed sometime last year. Not a very good change I might add. Next when I check in the desk clerk informed me that would be an additional charge for internet service of$10.00. I said did not want internet service I already had it on my phone. He said it was a mantory charge???. […] The next day when during breakfast the hotel ran out off eggs. Also I ask other people if the where aware of this new charge? Some people where and some people where not aware. Moreover what I found out if you where staying for like week or more you did not know. Other people with short stays where told when they checked in. One women she was staying for 14 days. That would be extra charge of $140.00? How can they do that. And is that legal? Furthermore the quality of the hotel went down. It's in a great location. However, not sure if I would stay or ever recommend this hotel to family and friends. Prior to this stay I would have. "Expensive parking and hidden mandatory Wi-Fi fee"
I was very disappointed. We actually called to see if the pool would be open. It was.....for day 1 only. They seriously had to close the pool down for an entire day for a photo shoot? We had to pay a mandatory Wi-Fi fee for a weak connection that was useless. We also had an unexplained fee on our credit card. I think they charged me for the use of their […] computer as a phone charger. They would not let us park our own car and charged an unfair rate for valet parking. Response by Embassy Row Hotel Dear Traveler, Thank you for your recent review. The Rooftop was closed on June 30th for a photo shoot. I appreciate your patience. The Rooftop is open seven days a week. It was something that needed to be done, so we chose a Monday based on occupancy and demand. Unfortunately, the photoshoot was on the Monday during your stay. Due to the nature of the garage, guests are not able to park their own car. It's a valet garage, not a regular parking garage. "What you will and will not get at this hotel."
You will get the best breakfast ever - excellent coffee, cereals, fruits, eggs, and so on. Lots to choose from. Rooms are comfortable and clean but small - depending on what type you choose. The overall feel of the hotel is modern and well kept. You will be charged an additional mandatory fee for the internet and use of the phone, regardless of whether […] you will use it or not. You will be charged $45/day for parking your car at the hotel. So, don't let the good rate fool you and be prepared for an extra $55/day charge. Great location, close to metro station and "walking distance" (20mins) to White House. You will NOT get a decently sized bathroom. Ours was TINY. No room to put your belongings, no hairdryer, no bathtub - just a shower. No shelves to put anything on. You will NOT get good TV channels - very few to choose from. No minifridge in the room. Ice and vending machines every other floor. The "swimming pool" was still under "construction", which was really bad when the temperature reached 95degrees.
