"Will definitely stay in the future."
Great location - within walking distance of the King Street Metro Station and 12 blocks to the waterfront. A free trolley runs up and down King Street on the weekends, but I found everything easily walkable. The neighborhood felt safe & I had no qualms walking at night. If you have a large SUV type vehicle, you may find it difficult to park in the underground […] parking without scraping it up. I gave a "4" for condition because there was some rust stains around the tub faucet, but nothing too gross. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel will definitely suffice for any needs. It's proximity to old town Alexandria makes it a winner. And you can leave the car to take the metro if driving is not your thing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location for a great price"

"Affordable, convenient stay in Old Town"
Went for a short stay with my two sisters and daughter. The hotel was convenient to the Metro and to all the shops on King Street -- the trolley stops right out front! Staff were very helpful, room was quite comfortable. Very affordable alternative in Old Town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
What a great location. Well-thought details.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient hotel, close to Metro, perfect for DC."
We would recommend this hotel. My only complaint was at check in...they made us wait until exactly the 3pm check in. I know our room was ready. Everyday we were there no maids were still making up rooms around 2:30pm. It is just their policy to not check in early...even a half hour early. A tiny complaint, but when you just flown in on a red eye and […] got lost trying to get to the hotel...we were looking to relax in our room, rather than their tiny lobby with all our suit cases piled around us. Great breakfast, friendly staff. Very strong smell of mildew in my first room on the 3rd floor. Asked to be moved which they did. Second room on the 4th floor smelled just as strong. 2 rooms on two different floors? May be a problem going on here. I've stayed here multiple times in the past and never had an issue before.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very good place to stayl in Old Town Alexandira"
Great location. Free King Street Trolley stop in front of hotel. Good breakfast selection. About $5 less per night(compared to other hotels) for parking under hotel. Staff friendly. Detractors: elevators rather slow and tub had a very slow drain.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Walking to all"
Great location for restaurants and shopping. Planning a return leisure trip with my wife.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and comfortable, easy to get aroun"
We were able to accomplish what we needed to do and we found it very easy to walk around. At night there were an assortment of little restaurants all within walking distance. The hotel staff was even accommodating of an extremely early morning airport checkout and taxi call. All in all we were very happy and comfortable and would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The cleaning staff failed to clean our room. Wouldn't have been such a problem had we not had a handicapped room. The shower allowed for the water to get all over the floor. When we returned late in the evening, the bed was unmade and the bathroom floor was very wet. It was too late at that point to get the cleaning staff in (after 10:30 pm) and we […] were too tired anyway. I picked up some extra towels to dry the floor. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Right at the Metro"
Perfect place for us to stay on our trip to go see the Nationals play. It is right at the metro which stops at the ballpark and the hotel is within walking distance to to many restaurants, coffee shops etc in Oldtown Alexandria. The hotel staff was courteous & helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"convenient location for us;"
Checked in rather late due to timing of local event in which we were participating. An extra person asked to stay with us but there were no more cots available. We were offered extra bedding so our extra person could "nest" on the floor. That turned out to be OK. BUT....the darned temperature control ran ALL NIGHT even though we raised the temp to 72. […] The linens on my bed, closest to the window and the heater, felt damp. The bed was cold and I couldn't sleep. The breakfast offerings were extensive and tasty. But not worth the extra per person charge, per room, which I assume covers that. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was a winner for my family!!! It was super clean and the staff was very helpful. Inexpensive parking was a plus! Breakfast was delicious and it was a 5 minute walk to the Metro. We were in the DC Mall in 25 minutes...we will DEFINITELY return!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, weekend desk service lacking"
The hotel was nice and the location was fantastic. The lady working the weekend desk was curt and unfriendly. She should not be in the service industry. The lady who took over the desk on Monday morning was warm and friendly, as one would expect of hotel personnel. The vending machines on all floors were sold out of bottled water.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good value, but wont stay here again"
The hotel is great value, and in a great location if you're doing business in Old Town. The problem I had is that the air conditioning in the room is the kind that is not set by a thermostat, but is an in-room unit where the fan runs constantly, with low, medium and high settings, rather than a temperature gauge. It was noisy and I did not get a good […] nights rest as a result. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfort and Parking!"
The air conditioning was difficult to control and it went off at night causing the room to be VERY stuffy. Also, didn't appreciate having to pay $15 per night to park. The parking lot and stalls were very small.Genuine Expedia guest review
Could not ask for a better location to enjoy D. C. from. 2 blocks from the metro, king street has a free trolly to the river and back. King st is also filed with food drinks and shopping itself. Parking is secure and much cheaper than other area hotels, I also did not get charged for parking the day I checked out. Room was great very clean. Pool hours […] are a little short 10-8 so I didn't get to use, but it looked nice out there. Great breakfast a big money saver in this area. I would stay again. "How about an update???"
Staff is excellent. Beautiful lobby, well appointed. Our room had a musty smell due I am sure to the old carpeting. Our bathroom had "repaired" cracks in a fiberglass shower...needs to be replaced and updated. For ths price I expect nice carpeting and tile bathroom at a minimum. I can't fault the cleaning staff who are all lovely. Hampton Inn needs […] to upgrade this convenienty located hotel. For nice rooms and comparably priced try the hotel next door, the Lorien. Parking is bit more expensive but therooms don't smell bad.The pool is msrepresented in photos. It sits above the backs of run down buildings. Again a simple upgrade of a privacy fence would make a huge difference. The management is clearly cheap. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Old Town Convenience"
Great location, walking distance to Old Town Alexandria shops, restaurants, and waterfront. Trolley stop outside the hotel for those who can't or don't want to walk. Room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was good, staff friendly, free wifi.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was a typical Hampton except for the pool hours (closed at 8PM), air conditioning outside of the room (hot in the hallways), and the elevators (slow for such a small hotel).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to metro, restaurants and shops"
Excellent stay! Hotel was within walking distance to the metro. Alexandria was a pleasure to explore on foot. Loved the free trolley to the marina. Hotel had a wonderful breakfast, room as spacious and clean. No animals which was a must for us. Will stay there again next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoyed my stay and found the front desk employees very helpful and friendly. It was nice having access to King Street and the trolley. I look forward to staying again provided that $99 rate continues. Thank you, Hotels.com! P.S. The air conditioning on the 5th floor hallway wasn't working.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was great! We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful time in Olde Town. The hotel is located close to the King Street Metro station and the Olde Town trolley stops right in from of hotel. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast consisted of eggs, yogurt, waffles, fruit, breads, and cereals...Enough to get your day started. Hotel was very nice. We appreciated the cheaper hotel parking fee, only $15 compared to others who were $30+. I also liked the fact that they offered the complimentary hot breakfast and free wifi. "Excellent choice close to Metro"
My plane was delayed and I got in late walking by myself from the Metro without knowing where the hotel was. Staff stayed on the phone with me walking me to the hotel. They accommodated my every need calmly, efficiently and with courtesy. The room was fantastic! The only ding is that there were four kinds of coffee in the room but no tea bags. And it […] was less expensive than the "usuals" on the block. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The hotel staff was very friendly, explaining the area and the free (!) trolley. The free breakfast was very good with a much larger selection that I expected, it was great for my teenage boys! Very impressed with Hampton Inn!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Overall very pleased with this hotel. Staff was great and so was breakfast each morning. Close to everything including Nationals Park. "The Hampton Inn's great location to the Metro Rail"
It was only a short walk to the Metro Rail System which was so convenient for us to get to the sites in D. C. The room was nice and clean. Parking was not a problem because of the in building parking garage. Some nice choices of restaurants were easily within walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"We liked it and recommend it too..."
I took my family and we had great time together. We enjoyed our stay and staff were really helpful to accomodate our requests for extra fridge, occasional service in the room and some extras for breakfast for kids. overall very nice staff and experience. "Excellent choice for us"
Our family (2 adults, 2 college students) went to DC for a tourist weekend, and to see friends in/around Alexandria. Staff was accommodating and always pleasant; there was plenty to choose at breakfast, and safe parking. 5 minute walk to King St Metro is a huge plus. Hampton Inn worked well in every way, was a good value, and I would stay there again. […] My only complaint was the pillows, but that is a personal preference. Highly recommended. "Christmas in Old Town"
The Hampton Inn is very convenient to both the Metro Station and to King Street in Old Town. All the personnel were friendly and helpful. "Reasonable alternative to National Harbor hotels"
I stayed at King St Hampton while attending a conference across the river, at the Gaylord convention center at National Harbor. I've attended many conferences at the Gaylord and always have stayed at the National Harbor (NH) Hampton, but no hotel at NH was available for the dates I needed. (The back story is that I needed to change a reservation I was […] holding at the Hampton NH, which was going to nearly double the rate. All other NH hotels were full.) I have always been concerned that the commute from Alexandria OT to NH would be time consuming but was pleasantly surprised. The front desk called cabs for me, and they arrived very promptly (fare was approx $16 each way incl tip). The trip to National Harbor in the morning goes against traffic on the bridge and takes only 10-15 mins. One evening, the bridge was closed due to an auto accident, so I took the water taxi from the Gaylord to Alexandria Old Town and then took the free King Street Trolley to the hotel. That trip is fairly long but a pleasant option. The rate at the King St Hampton was very competitive with typical rates at National Harbor. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
