The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff extremely friendly and attentive. We were not able to try their onsite "fine dining" restaurant as it never seemed to be open. Their piano bar serves food directly off the room service menu - nothing to get excited about and pricey for the quality. Very convenient to the Scottrade Center - just a short stroll up the street. Also close to the Metrolink system. We weren't able to find any interesting restaurants within walking distance but the front desk was happy to recommend some "local favorites" and the valet staff had a cab waiting for us in record time. All in all, a very pleasant place to stay. We will definately book the Sheraton next time we're in STL.

Overall, things were good, but with a few hiccups: 1) Housekeeping did not replace the coffee packets and creamers in the room. When we called guest services to have these things brought to the room, they said they would bring them, but never did. 2) Internet is a bit pricier than I expected ($10.99/day). 3) Parking is a bit pricier than I expected ($17/day). 4) There is a computer in the lobby that you can use to print boarding passes...but it didn't work for us. So we got charged for our time on the lobby computer, then had to wait while a rather annoyed front-desk person printed them for us.

I've stayed in many 4 and 5 start hotels and am not sure why this is only given 3.5. It definitely ranks with the high end hotels. Beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Service was outstanding. The building itself is exceptionally beautiful, rumored to be a restored factory (?). It is literally right in the heart of downtown St. Louis. Blues fans couldn't have closer access to their beloved Scottrade Center. It is only half a block away. Security is covered since it is in the middle of downtown. Guests must use their room cards in the elevators in order to access room floors. This consideration prevents just anyway from wandering your corridors. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and will choose it again the next time I visit St. Louis.

The hotel location was great, 5-6 blocks from Busch Stadium, 2 blocks from Hockey Dome and 3 blocks from Union Station shopping and eating. The hotel room was very big, but no view except looking at an interior courtyard. We would have preferred an exterior view of the city. The pool was a bit chilly, but refreshing. The bar was good and having the Wii in the lobby was a hoot! The fire alarm at 1 am was not great and the constant "Can We Have Your Attention Please!" over the load speaker over and over and over was quite annoying. Anything would have been better than that constant announcement. Beside the fire alarm, good price and comfortable big beds!

This hotel has a long way to go to meet even the minimal customer service requirements. We stayed on a floor that offered a continental breakfast, but were not told about this amenity. We did eat breakfast in the hotel dining room on our first morning at 9:00am, which was a Saturday. I guess we were at the end of the breakfast crowd because the wait staff and bus persons decided that we did not want to have a pleasant experience. Three of the bus persons had an argument as they were cleaning one table from us. There was shouting and name calling. The restaurant manager saw the events, and did nothing to remove them from the dining room. The argument ends, and another bus person breaks out the portable electric broom to clean up the table. At this point, we just left the dining room. When I told the front desk manager of our experience, I got a shrug. On vacation, we treat our son to room service, a big deal for a 10 year old. I ordered a cobb salad and it was prepared incorrectly. Pretty simple dish, so it should be correct. I called to get it correct and the new meal did not come for 45 minutes. We asked for additional towels to be brought to our room because we got caught in a rainstorm and did not have towels for the morning. I am still waiting on those towels. Again, I mentioned these things to the front desk manager as we were checking out and got a shrug. At least she did not say "oh, well." Having said that, the hotel is a beautiful hotel and is located very close to venues we were seeing. We walked or took public transportation for our entire stay, which was great. Our room was nice, clean and cleaned promptly each day. This hotel really needs to work on the customer service.

Only upon inquiry were we told to ASK for vouchers for the regular cafe for breakfast. No sign was posted at the Club room that it would not be open, just the regular posted hours. Our room was not refreshed for the second night of stay until we firmly asked at the front desk, after making arrangements with the maid service at 5:00 P.M. No concierge services were available as well. Overall I was dissapointed in the Sheraton brand based on this and a recent previous stay. Boo to them.

I also was very impressed with the friendliness of the front desk staff. If I would have two minor complaints, here they are. First of all, although we were very close to the Scottrade Center and Union Station, this hotel is not near as close to the baseball stadium as described. It was a good six block walk and after the game that is an uphill walk. Please consider this if you have small children with you. Actually, I would recommend an eight dollar cab ride back to the Sheraton. Also, the maid service was late afternoon one day, and quite early in the morning the next. That is my fault for not asking, but it seemed like odd times for the room to be cleaned. I would also agree the parking garage is tight for larger vehicles, but quite secure and convenient. I don't know why people complain about the seventeen dollar a day charge. I feel it was worth it with unlimited in and out privileges. Overall, I feel I got what I paid for and would definitely stay here again.

The only real complaint I would have had was something I wouldn't or couldn't hold management responsible for, and that was rude, probably drunk, and very loud younger guests parading through the halls at 4 in the morning. Well-apporinted health club, and sizable pool. Easy walking distance to Busch Stadium and the restaurants at Union Station.
