This hotel was conveniently located on the edge of the French Quarter allowing for a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere. Still, less than a mile walk will take you almost anywhere you want to go in the quarter. It is very close to the French Market and Frenchman street and its music clubs. What a nice well kept old property right in the French Quarter we got a great deal, the best parking, refrigerator, the staff was GREAT I can't say one bad thing about the property. We even got lucky with the weather the morning we left it was pouring.

While it has all the obvious stuff like it's within walking distance to Bourbon Street and other tourist attractions and it was clean and nicely priced. But what I liked was how at any time of the day, you could go down to the pool side bar and find locals eating lunch, or having a quick drink and chatting up the bartenders or just stopping by to say […] hi to the near 89 year old owner, Brian...who happened to greet us and pull out our chairs for us at breakfast one morning. The stay was fine. Hotel is quaint. Staff was excellent.... friendly and very helpful. Hotel is located in the southeast corner of the French Quarter. The French Market was 2 blocks away, many restaurants and lots of shopping in the area. Bourbon street only 3 blocks away.

My husband and I loved the Le Richelieu Hotel in New Orleans. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was wonderful and the location was perfect. I believe staying at this hotel made visting the French Quarter even better. If I go back to New Orleans I will stay there again. We loved it!

The hotel is located in a great area. You can access Bourbon St and Jackson Square and the Frenchmen Street area easily. Rooms are small but very clean. Our bed needed a new mattress and only had a ceiling fan. Probably would be a little too warm in the summer months.

We usually stay on Esplanade, but we tried Le Richelieu instead, and we loved the location. We enjoyed our walk out balcony, the room and were comfortable, and we loved how close we were to the outdoor farmer's market. great great place to stay for a few days, but if your stay is for more than that, I would recommend another hotel. Very basic features, a bit old fashioned which is part of it's charm, but the charm wears off after 3 more more days. Very poor WiFi, basic cable and no movies. Otherwise, it is perfectly acceptable-- clean and pleasant enough.

The styling and building at La Richelieu is definitely a bit dated (particularly in the bathrooms), but this hotel was very clean and comfortable for my 3-night stay. It is a great location - just far enough away from the LOUD part of the French Quarter and very close to Frenchmen Street, for the classic New Orleans jazz bars. I would have preferred a thermostat in our room, as the only control we had was a fan switch - Off/Lo/Hi. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and made up nicely each day. The hotel is old but well maintained. It is close to many attractions and away from the noise. The wi-fi signal wasn't as good as it should be, but maybe that's because we were on the fourth floor. We would definitely stay there again.

Very comfortable room in a well managed, clean hotel. Located within easy walking distance to the entire French Quarter, but far enough away so that the late night party crowd won't keep you up all night. Make sure you request a room without a door to an adjoining room as the doors do not block out much noise.

on Hotels.com they stated secure parking, but there is a $20 per night charge for the parking. this needs to be stated on Hotels.com, also there is free internet and complimentary morning coffee, but we were not told that when we checked in, otherwise it was a great place to stay for where it is and easy walks to everything, would stay again

This is a classic traditional French Quarter hotel. It was clean and well maintained. It is on the edge of the French Quarter so it is quiet but walking distance to everything. Pool looked very inviting but was not heated and it was too cold to jump in. I would definitely go back.

Great location to Frenchmen Street where the locals hang out for good food and excellent music. Off the beaten path from all the hyped up excitement on Bourbon Street; great coffee shop around the corner (Envie). The secure parking lot is a big plus.

Nice people, good location. Old building but reasonably maintained and clean. Fast and gracious service. Felt safe. Heater did not work but when I called them they sent up a space heater in about 60 seconds! So, it worked out anyway. I'd go back.

For the price we paid for this room we could have stayed in a much nicer and closer hotel. We almost cancelled and booked a different one for $20 cheaper but decided to try it out anyway since we had never stayed there. We go to the French Quarter at least twice a year. The room was 51 degrees when we walked in. When we tried to turn on the heat to […] warm it up it blew out cold air only. We asked the front desk and they said it's central air and operates the entire hotel and since it was 75 degrees outside they couldn't turn on the heat. We opened the window and went to dinner hoping it would warm up. The next day it was again 75 degrees and when we came back to our hotel room after a long day it was 80 degrees in the room! The AC wouldnt come on, it only said HEAT and blew out minimally cool air. Since it started cooling off to 60 degrees that night, we again opened a window and turned on the ceiling fan. Furthermore the carpet felt really grimy...I had to keep my shoes on, the bathroom floor was pretty gross with grout that looked like it hadn't been scrubbed in years! As you walk in the hotel, you are immediately hit by the smell of an old museum. The smell was even stronger in our room. Our friends at least had an air freshener in the room.
