This hotel is located in the Financial District of downtown San Francisco. It is ideally located for both shopping and sighr seeing. The hotel provides a courtesy car for short trips in the area - just look after the driver, a $10 tip saves you the time in looking for a taxi at peak times. Breakfast is expensive at up to $25 per person but there are lots of cafes / coffee shops in the immediate area where breakfast can be enjoyed at half that price. Bottled water is expensive in the room at $6 and I suggest that you visit the fitness centre on the 3rd floor where free water and fruit snacks are provided. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the room, bathroom and linen were spotless. Overall a most enjoyable stay in a friendly and accessible city.

I have stayed in many hotels in SF. Now have a new favorite.....will go back often.

My husband and I have stayed at several hotels in San Francisco, but the Omni is now our favorite one. The staff is very friendly. Cookies and hot apple cider were served in the lobby in the evenings. The hotel is within walking distance of BART, Muni, Chinatown, North Beach, Union Square, and Moscone Center. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was aesthetically pleasing. The restaurant downstairs was expensive, but there were so many other restaurants within walking distance. We got a great deal on hotels.com.

We had a very nice room at the Omni. We changed rooms from the first room we had as we looked into offices across the way. We were given a room two floors up (17 floor) right on top of the room we had before, but above the office view and in exchange were given a room with a spectacular view of the bay! No extra charge. The staff was very friendly, including the doormen who were very attentive. It was a quiet location (financail district) with the California Cable line right in front of the hotel, which made it very easy to get around. It is a couple of blocks in any direction to any area in the city a tourist would have on their agenda. We are local (30 miles down the pennisula), so we know the city pretty well and found this hotel wonderful for a get-away.

The staff couldn't have been nice or more helpful, the rooms were extremely nice and clean, and the location was great for getting around the city. The only drawback was trying to get a cab. For some reason, there weren't a lot of cabs in the area, but the hotel had access to a fleet of town cars which were quite reasonable. I'd stay there again, no question.

I checked in on a Friday night and the hotel was very busy. The door man insisted on bringing our bags inside the hotel. I checked in (which was really quick and they were very friendly)BUT I had to go outside and retrieve my bag because the door man was too busy getting cabs for other guests. It was not the way to start my experience with the hotel. I will also say that when I had dinner in the bar, the service wasn't the best. I had to get up and get my own water after asking a couple of times. I would stay at this hotel again because it was crowded and I could tell the staff was working hard, it just seemed to take a while to get me taken care of!

The Omni is in the Financial District, next to Chinatown and right on the cable car line. The hotel is VERY quiet especially on the weekend when the financial district shuts down so it felt like an oasis in the very center of San Francisco. The best part though was the Hotel staff. Justin found a reservation at Aqua with just one day's notice. Massage - no problem. Parking, valet, room service were all first rate. I stayed with my family including an 11 year old who was treated like a youn g prince by the staff. FIRST RATE!

Omni has a great property with this Hotel. The staff was excellent. Very efficient and helpful. The room was beautiful and immaculate. The bed was extremely comfortable. My only complaint is that the air conditioner wasn't very effective in cooling the room. Keep in mind that I prefer a very cool room - especially given the beddings used in most good hotels these days. I absolutely fry under just a blanket let alone a blanket plus a comforter plus whatever else they use. One would think having a cool room in San Francisco would be a simple matter of opening the window. I did just that. It really didn't work. Unfortunately, the a/c struggled to get the room to 70. It kept shutting off. I find this a common problem though, and it should not be counted against this excellent establishment.

San Francisco is my favorite US city. I've tried a number of hotels in SF, over the years. After I experienced the Omni Hotel several years ago it's become my residence of choice while in the bay area. The staff is consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and alert without making a fuss. The Omni Hotel - both the rooms and the common spaces - is well maintained and a pleasure to return to at the end of the day. I often travel with my Mom to SF. She's in her late 70's and appreciates being able to get on the cable cars at the end of the block near the hotel. My only request would be to provide a free internet terminal somewhere is the lobby or other common area where one could check their e-mail. A five or ten minute limit on a computer - where one had to stand to check e-mail - could provide the finishing touch to the excellent service at the Omni. I've stayed at much lesser hotels - as well at other 4 and 5 star properties - that provide this service. It's most helpful for those of us who prefer to travel without our laptops. The Omni Hotel is superb. Enjoy. AGM+

We arrived at 3:00 (check in time), but had to wait around for 45 minutes for our room to become free. On leaving, it was also problematic as they didn't have enough bellhops to manage all the guests.
