we booked 3 rooms via hotels.com about 4-5 days prior to our arrival and our Amex was charged. When we arrived 2 of the reservations were no where to be found and we had to book and pay for 2 rooms again (still waiting to see if our card was charged twice.) The people working there are very nice and accommodating; but as a business traveler, you expect […] to have WIFI as a standard service - they don't you have to pay $10/day to a 3rd party and the WIFI barely worked. Barely slept for 3 nights as the mattress sounded like and felt like it was 30+years old (actually felt the box springs in my back) and the extremely loud window AC didn't help either. "Good Location to Disneyland - Room Not so Hot."
Our family took a quick overnight to Disneyland and wanted to stay somewhere very convenient to the park. The staff was very professional and friendly and the grounds were beautiful. The room however was not what we anticipated. We booked a King Suite only to find out that the room was fairly dated and multiple items did not work including the light […] next to the bed having a short, the TV volume would intermittently get quiet and loud, you could hear the water pipes making a vibrating noise when people in other rooms were showering, and the day bed in the second room had a foul in the mattress from a prior bed wetter. "Some good parts and bad parts"
There are some good and some negative aspects of this hotel. 1) Negative: You are charged $15+/night for parking your car here. I get it; you're across the street from Disneyland. You're given a pass to put on your dashboard when you check in. However, there were cars that didn't have passes so I'm wondering if they were even charged for parking like […] everyone else was. How is this hotel enforcing that to make sure all cars parked there have paid just like those who are staying there? Charge your own customers parking but not others? 2) Negative: $10/24 hours of wifi. That's right. No wifi at this hotel. I've been to other hotels where those currently staying at the hotel can log in to wifi with their own specific code which expires when they check out. This hotel should try it. 3) Negative: The extra bad in the suite we had is a single sofa bed where you can feel the springs. I booked the Annabella Hotel for the Disneyland Half Marathon. I chose the hotel because it was a Disney "Good Neighbor" hotel and looked decent online. I arrived to check in and was told my room wasn't ready, which I understood it being before noon. FD agent told me there was a $15 parking fee, which I wasn't made aware of when booking, SURPRISE! Also […] the FD agent told me that I would have to come back to see when my room would be ready. I asked her if they could call me, since they had my information. She said yes, and highlighted my phone number on the registration paper. 3 hours goes by, and no call. I decide to call the hotel and ask if my room is ready and was told by the phone agent that my room has been ready. I drive back to the hotel to stand in a long line to pick up my keys. Wait for it... Best part yet! I get to the room, and all I can say is that I hope with that $15 dollar parking fee, that I get a complimentary tetanus shot when I check out. The window won't lock, there are stains on the floor that look like blood, the mirror in the bathroom has large black stains on it, the air conditioner hardly produces any cold air and the shower drains extremely slow. "NOT walking distance from Disney with a toddler"
I would highly recommend using the ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) bus whose stop is just next door to the main hotel entry -- the map is misleading. This hotel is not walking distance from Disney if you have small children. Our experience with this hotel was somewhat schizophrenic -- the man who checked us in was stellar (very friendly and helpful), as […] was the concierge. But the next day, when I had a question about charges, the woman who spoke to me at the front desk had serious ATTITUDE; it was clearly an imposition for her to speak to me, and by assisting me, she was clearly doing me a favor. I would use a word that is not family-appropriate. The food was excellent at the Tangerine restaurant -- the best steak quesadilla I've ever had, and fantastic fresh salsa; breakfast was also quite good. Although the room was exceptionally clean, we saw definite maintenance issues: a dimmer switch by the door didn't work, an outlet near the air conditioner didn't work; the bathroom had a piece of the door trim hanging onto the floor, and there were damaged baseboards/plaster in the corner. The king bed was very comfortable and had room for our three-year old to sleep between us (no way he was sleeping alone on the high double bed), and our son delighted in jumping on the couch. The grounds were impeccable. The housekeeping staff delivered extra pillows and washcloths less than 5 minutes after my phoned request. The shower had good pressure although our tub did not drain well and the bathroom ventilation wasn't very good. The hotel from the outside seemed nice, but once I got inside and began asking questions, it felt like I was talking in a different language. Several of the staff members seemed inconvenienced I wanted to speak rather than just grab my hotel key and leave. I used to love the Anabella. It was close to the parks, affordable and kind of quaint. But this time my room, which had been remodeled--new paint, paper, marble, etc.--stunk. Literally. The moldy mildew smell was behind all the cover up. In the carpet pad? In the ceiling? I don't know, but when I got home my suitcase and garment bag had picked up the […] smell. I had to wash all my clothes, even the ones I didn't wear. I should have said something immediately, but I wrongly assumed it would air out in time I bought two scented candles; they only masked the odor. Also, the stairs and walkways were filthy and really needed a pressure wash. Come to find out they did hose them off…but the dirty water got all over the hood and windshield of my brand new car. The hard water spots are still there. Even after the bellman wiped my car down. If you stay here, insist on a room that doesn't smell musty, and ask them to protect your car if they wash the upper floor walkways. And one more thing that is just a pet peeve. I travel alone, and when I am offered a buy one get one (free or half price) meal offer it stings. The front desk clerk offered me one, and when I said I was traveling alone, she took it back.
