Incorrect address listed on line so problems with finding the place. Extremely small bed and shower- fortunately we were small females. Unusual to have croissants and toast in plastic bags but seems to be the norm in Italy. Great location for getting from the train station and getting around.

This hotel was a complete and total disappointment. Not located anywhere near where it stated, located in a questionable neighborhood and the staff was mediocre at best. The hotel staff came into the room whenever they pleased (as we walked in on them a few times). Pay the extra money and stay elsewhere.

The Hotel Doria was very convenient to the central station and major sights in Rome and in a very good neighborhood with many restaurants in the vicinity. However, cleanliness and service was not a strength. Bed sheets were either in poor condition or were left soiled. Also the single room was very small.

We stayed here after disembarking from our Mediterriean cruise. It is conveniently located and a short walk to the Termini train station. Spent 4 nights here at the end of our cruise. Convenient, close to major transportation, helpful staff, all in all pretty good. Small room, 2 twin beds very close together. TINY elevetor that would hold 2 people or luggage (stacked if more than one piece) and one person. But, very nice to have instead of climbing up and down with luggage. We stayed for two nights during our recent trip to Rome. I chose this hotel for the value and its proximity to the train station (no car and heavy bags :). Given the great prices we got during peak season I was extremely impressed with the hotel (definitely the "fanciest" of our trip). Bathroom was small but clean. We were able to walk everywhere (Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona) with the exception of the Vatican (to which, mainly for time reasons, we took the metro, extremely easy due to the hotel's close proximity to the Termini station). The hotel had a breakfast included on a very lovely rooftop terrace (normal Italian offering: cereals, biscuits, cheese, jams, cafe, etc.). It's also just across the square from an impressive church (I can't recall the name at the moment but it's big enough to be in the guide books). Waking up to chiming church bells definitely set the mood for our Roman holiday. I would return here on my next trip to Rome. Read more

It's just a 5 minute walk to the Termini and near all the major shopping in Via Cavour and across the Termini. There lots of different restaurants nearthe hotel, although they are a little pricey. This is a small hotel which feels a bit like an hostel, like so many others in Rome. My single bedroom was rather small with an also reduced size bathroom but it was overall clean. Compared with the standards from other places what we pay is relatively high for what we get, but i reckon it's a common issue in Rome.

My wife and I had a few days before our cruise and wanted to see the sights of Rome. The hotel was conveniently located (i.e. 15-20 minute walk from a number of landmarks), and we were able to see the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navonna, Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Capitoline museum over the course of our time there. If you are new to European travel, please note that the hotels in Europe generally have smaller rooms and bathrooms. 1. Service: The concierge staff was very helpful and friendly. The housekeeping and breakfast room staff did their jobs quickly and with high standards 2. Location: Wonderful!. A 10 second walk from Santa Maria Maggiore Cathedral, a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum and Historic areas and a 7 minute walk to the Termini. There is also a tourist info stand […] on the square right by the hotel where you can buy Roma Passes(recommended) Unfortunately, it is the site of a popular bus stop and across the street from cafes that stay open most of the night. Even with the sound proof windows closed we heard busses, garbage trucks, singing and yelling until 2-3 everynight. If u need quiet, ask for a room in the back of the hotel. 3. Breakfast: On the roof with an indoor and outdoor eating area, very lovely. The food is basically brioche(croissants) a few cereals, packaged deli ham coffee, tea and juice. There are a few other packaged foods. This is a standard free breakfast in Rome although most places have fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs. 4. Rooms: a standard double is approx 120 sq ft(including the bathroom)-incredibly small. two twin beds, a small desk and two tiny night stands. One hotel size closet. The bathroom has a blow dryer, shower, sink, bidet, toilet. It is all very small and close together. If you weigh more than 200 lbs you may have difficulty manuevering on the toilet and in the shower. The mattresses were on the firm side but very comfortable. Read more

They offer two twin beds together as a king bed. It is very unconfortable. Bath towels are like a "table cloth". Believe me... they are a piece of fabric similar to a giant handkerchief. I was extremely satisfied with my stay at the Hotel Doria. We were there for 2 nights after our cruise with disembarked in Rome. The Room was small, but comfortable and clean. The shower in the bathroom was about the same size as the cabin on our ship (barely able to turn around or bend down). The only problem we had with the shower seemed to be that […] after I took a shower, my wife took hers. During her shower, the hot water went off (did not become cold, but actually went off). I think that they ration it. The area was convenient as the Hop-on Hop-off bus stopped about 2 minutes away. For the price, I would strongly recommend it. i had started my trip off in a hostel in Rome, i got in late and found it to be a dive, so i booked Hotel Doria that night and the next day i was staying there. they staff was very nice. they answered all my 1st time traveler questions. the room was great, and its close to everything!!

This is a nice place in a great location. Like most urban European mid-tier hotels, it's small. Our double room was probably about 10 x 10 with a bathroom that was very cramped. As long as you can deal with that, the place was clean and nice. Located close to a 'Hop on, hop off' tour bus stop. Several acceptable restaurants nearby. Staff very friendly and courteous. Lift accessed by four steps and does not go to top floor where breakfast is served, so not good for anyone with mobility problems on stairs. All areas very clean, though in need of some re-decoration.

everything about this hotel suited us perfectly. we are 2 'older' ladies and even the walk upstairs for breakfast didn't impinge on our time there - there is a small lift if the stairs are too much. we would recommend it to anyone spending from one night or 7!

This was the right hotel for first time visitors to Italy. It was very easy to get from the airport to Termini (5 euros by bus, 45 minutes). From Termini it is a 5 minute walk. I travelled to Rome on a whim, solo. The hotel Doria is in a great location, 10 minutes walk from the Coliseum and from Termini station. I walked everywhere but the metro was close by. The main receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. I rather liked the old fashioned style of having proper keys, left at the desk during the day. The neighbourhood […] was nice. I felt safe at all times. Breakfast was basic, cake, pastries, bread, cereal, biscuits etc, but eating on the roof terrace was lovely, with a view of the basilica. I had a single room which was small but met all needs. There was fully functioning air conditioning which was needed at the height of summer! There were some really nice restaurants and gelaterias as you turn left out of the hotel. I'd recommend il pasticciaccio in particular. And plenty more places near Cavour metro stop. This is a nice place to stay. The rooms are a little bit small; like nearly everywhere in Rome. People are friendly and you're close to everything (Termini, Colloseum, S.Maria Maggiore, etc).
