"Clean newer hotel."
Hotel was convenient, quiet, and clean. Had a good complimentary breakfast with good choices. Only problem was AC unit had a water leak which wet carpet around unit. I reported following morning. Other than that a good comfortable hotel at a good price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Express Plymouth Dear Valued Guest, We would like to apologize for the AC issue, but would like you to know that we have since then replaced all problem systems. We are glad to hear of your otherwise positive experience! Sincerely, Holiday Inn Express and Suites

This hotel is pretty good. It is located about an hour and a half from the outer banks. There is not much to do around the hotel, not to many restaurants or attractions. It is a great hotel over all clean room, good breakfast and great staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Express Plymouth Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for your review! We were thrilled to here of your positive experience with us. Hope to see you again! Sincerely, Holiday Inn Express and Suites
"not the best"
The stay, for the most part, was nice. The negatives were: inattentive front desk personnel, and dirty common areas. The phone in our room did not work. The gal at the front desk said that all the information she had said it was working. We were also supposed to have two phones in the room. Nothing was done to rectify that issue. The gal acted like […] we were bothering her even though nothing else was going on. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Express Plymouth Dear Valued Guest, We would like to extend our sincerest apologies concerning the out of order phones and the inattentive front desk staff. We have since then brought in a maintenance man to repair our phones, and phone lines. We have also been working with our evening front desk staff. Sincerely, Holiday Inn Express and Suites
"Very nice staff at check-in."
Great staff at check-in....she was sincerely concerned about my family's comfort and tactfully addressed the situation (June 13th around 7:30pm). Constant smile, multi-tasking & answering multiple questions from a persistent person on the phone who did not book a stay. However, check-out staff at 4 am had turned off the exit door entrance motion detector […] and was busy watching TV. Instead of greeting, I was loudly told to stop pulling the door open when I loaded my luggage and attempted to re-enter. She was never rude and even as my kids filed out to the car she invited my kids to cereal---she just was not as friendly as the person the evening before. Plus, I am positive I was less than appreciative (not in a friendly mood) since I am over forty and do not like being yelled at from across from a lobby, even an empty one. Breakfast was at 7am and rooms with 2 beds come with doubles-- not what I had planned for. This was my fault for assuming all hotels are similar (average 50-75 nights a year in hotels--used to queens and 6am). But again, the check-in person was awesome. Since we were told about the time we adjusted our stay and left earlier. Our trip was better having arrived an hour ahead of schedule and had a great breakfast near Jeanette's Pier. Overall--good experience but need to have a few double bed rooms with Queens for us to stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Express Plymouth Dear Valued Guest, We would like to extend our apologies concerning the negative situation you experienced. "One night stay"
Very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable. Spacious dining area made our take out meal(easier with a 2 year old) feel like a dine in meal. We were able to check in early and enjoy the pool. Grandkids loved it. Good breakfast also. Front desk personnel were extremely helpful and congenial.Genuine Expedia guest review

"on our way to the outer banks"
We enjoyed the hotel. The staff was courteous and friendly and always tried to go over and above to ensure we had what we needed. There isn't much in the surrounding area, but the hotel itself was a great stopping point for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"8 on site Tesla Supercharger stalls"
A very pleasant and comfortable place for Tesla owners to charge up for a day trip to Hatteras. The very helpful staff serves a good breakfast. Other meals in Plymouth are limited to a fairly wide selection of fast food places.Genuine Expedia guest review

A little further from the outer banks than we would have liked but the price was more reasonable. The room was well taken care of but the letdown for us was the bathroom. It was clean, but whoever painted it did a really bad and sloppy job. It needed some TLC. Otherwise the room was OK.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Express Plymouth Dear Valued Guest, We would like to thank you for writing us a review as it is how we develop our property, staff, and ultimately grow. "Good Stop before Ferry"
We stayed here overnight before catching the SwanQuarter Ferry over to Ocracoke. It's about 45 minutes to the ferry from the hotel. Good place for an overnight. The night desk clerk was really nice and sent us to a decent place for some fried chicken! There really isn't much in the way of restaurants in the immediate area - especially if you arrive […] later. We did not avail ourselves of the pool, which looked nice. The breakfast was decent. All in all, like I said, a good stopover hotel! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Its under renovation"
The hotel was under renovation so the lobby and breakfast area was a mess. Interesting that they built it beside a railroad track. Train whistles each morning at 6:30 so be ready to wake up. Garish, tacky decorations in lobby. Breakfast was so terrible that after the first day we had to walk across the parking lot to Bojangles. Bagels and English muffins […] were so stale they broke into pieces when cut apart for the toaster. Casserole dishes were stained brown from use. Coffee terrible. Big metal box with a slit in it marked Pancakes. You pressed the button and a pancake shot out of the slit. Really? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed everything and the service was very good. The hosts were accommodating and very pleasant. The breakfast was very tasty and outstanding and available for early risers. I highly recommend this hotel and will use it again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Just as expected"
This Holiday Inn Express was fine and consistent with the other Holiday Inn Expresses that I frequently stay at. Room was clean, work out room was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
While there was definitely a benefit for the breakfast, and for the wi-fi services, I still felt that the hotel was over-priced by $25.00-35.00. The toilet paper was awful, the shower curtain rod was barely holding on and the security lock on the door was broken.Genuine Expedia guest review
"I would stay again."
Very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Pleasant 2 night stay"
12/03/14 votefordems Raleigh, North Carolina
This hotel exceeded our expectations for a 2 night stay in Plymouth where we visited the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge and viewed numerous black bears and migratory birds. We had a wonderful time in the woods and fields around Plymouth after a very good nights rest and satisfying breakfast. Our room was large and well equipped, the wireless worked fine, and there was an abundance of electrical outlets around the room. Only thing preventing an excellent rating was the heater, it had a loud vibration at times, so much so we needed to turn it off while sleeping. We will stay here again.
"Will stay here next time too!!"

Had good time visiting historic locations and outdoor attractions in the area so staying here for few days was a very good choice. Hotel and our room was quiet and clean, king bed comfortable, like the no smoking rule. We travel with our 65 pound dog so very happy this place is so pet friendly--our dog was relaxed so we felt very welcome here and thought employees were pet accepting and friendly--Debbie and Andrea were two of the staff we had a chance to talk to during our stay, also breakfast was good, this place had everything we needed so will be back to stay here when traveling to this area again, thank you!

Husbanad and I stayed here while on a visit to Somerset Place. Very nice staff. Quiet area. Room was clean and tidy. The kings size bed was very comfortable. The breakfast wasn't too bad...not the best, but it did the trick. Will definitely be coming back.

The room was large and clean. The staff was outstanding. Breakfast was good. If you stay in Plymouth, this is the place to stay. And don't miss lunch at Stella's or The Garden Spot Cafe in Plymouth. Either are great.
I stayed here two nights and found it to be a very nice hotel. Nothing fancy but clean. The breakfast and front desk staffs quite friendly. Not sure what brings folks to this area but would certainly recommend staying here. The swimming pool area was a nice area to relax too.

This hotel was a great find, beginning with a friendly, cheerful late night greeting. We found the accommodations to have ample space and the decor was very stylish. The bathroom was spotless and had plenty of soaps, shampoos, gels and lotions. The breakfast was served until 10 which gave us ample time to sleep because we got in so late. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I've had all year (probably stayed in 15 different hotels this year)! The person in charge seemed to take great pride in presenting foods well and gave it a very homemade taste.
"I had a great experience at this property"
08/09/14 Salli G Cary, North Carolina
The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was very good as well. I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The town of Plymouth has a beautiful waterfront on the river with a replica of the ironclad "Albermarle" as well.
"Does the Holiday Inn Brand Proud"
07/19/14 NorJon713 Long Island, NY
On our trip, we had a bad experience with another Holiday Inn Express. This location totally validated the brand. Not one staff member the entire time we were there passed us without saying hello and with a smile no less! The hotel is extremely clean. While we were checking out, we noticed several people working all over the lobby and hotel common area to make sure everything was picture perfect spotless! The rooms facing the back of the hotel have large, private balconies, although they only look at the parking lot. The hotel was the quietest that I can ever remember. Although the parking lot was full and we saw other people, not once did we hear a door slam. The elevator was so quiet we didn't even know that it was moving. Top it off with a comfortable room and comfortable bed and you get very satisfied guests! Breakfast was great. A full breakfast was well stocked and attended to, by of course, a courteous hostess with a smile! We were interested in touring the local area and asked the desk clerk on the way out for some information. The owner came out of her office to offer us personalized help and took her time with us explaining and answering all sorts of questions that I had. She even printed out a couple of maps for us. Tip: If you have somewhere to be, avoid the couch in the lobby in front of the big screen tv. It's so comfy, one could fall asleep in a matter of minutes. It feels like you're own living room.
"Hurricane Arthur evacuee"
07/18/14 powellgs Banner Elk, North Carolina
We had to evacuate the Outer Banks for Hurricane Arthur on Thursday, July 3rd and just happened to stop buy this motel on the way to Rocky Mount were I already had a hotel reservation. Just our luck that they just had a cancellation and we were able to get a King Suite that was pet friendly for 2 nights! They suggested we go ahead and reserve for an additional night, not knowing when we could get back on Hatteras Island. The GM and staff were very polite and accommodating as there were a lot of people evacuating and trying to find a place to stay like us who had another week in a rental house to get back to. They even helped me cancel my reservation in Rocky Mount and were trying to work with others in locating an hotel room as they were full. The town of Plymouth is an Historical town on the Roanoke River which runs through downtown, a must see. Nice park on the river, an ironclad replica and Civil War heritage. Check out the old Episcopal Church and specifically the old tombstones. Hotel was clean and accommodating, breakfast was good and staff did a great job with a family reunion going on there at the same time evacuees were staying there as well. My hats off to the staff!
"Very clean and fresh"
06/19/14 Zzba Big Canoe, Georgia
As nice and clean as I have stayed at any Holiday Inn Express. The staff were friendly and helpful. Plymouth NC is a small place so it was a delightful surprise to find this gem. Rooms were freshly painted and carpet was very clean. The breakfast area was spotless.
