Everything was fine except elevator only available when the lobby is open -7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m - I had to leave at 6:30 a.m. and carry my bags down stairs. UGH

The room was great! Very clean and had a big bathroom. Very well decorated. Reasonable price too. We took out dog and they really had no restrictions on him being there. It was a great relief. Would have been nice to be a little closer to the main beach, but that's not their fault. It's about a mile from the main beach.

We've stayed at various places along Pacific Beach before. Laguna beach is more layed back and artsy and not so pushy or rushed. I wanted a free flow weekend for my guy and I got it. Once we found our very eclectic hotel that was less than a mile south of tbe canyon. We were greeted by a local treasure ...Ms.Gail ...she was so informative and loves […] her town and her cozy and charming hotel that is surrounded by all the local artist treasures, that she seemingly runs by herself effortlessly. It was like stayimg with a cool fum aunt. The hotel is only 2 stories which makes it so easy to get im and out of here. Its on Pacific beach across the street is the "beach" which there is an awesome little jaunt down and maintained path. We'll definitely come back. I almost forgot..The Jacuzzi overlooked the main street which had much privacy and we were right around the corner from it. The pool was down below for the other guests. Surrounding neighberhood is very relaxed and mellow. Very clean rooms and parking is located underneath the hotel. Read more

We got 5 rooms here for my mothers 90 birthday. The people are warm friendly and helpful. Some rooms were better than others. It is obvious they are upgrading one room at a time. Location was a bit out from downtown but that was fine by us. They were so accomadating for our large group. This is now our go to place in Laguna.

I had higher expectations but it was good overall. We only stayed one night but it was alright. GPS directions will guide you south on the coast highway. It is actually left. So once you come down on laguna canyon toward the ocean, make a right instead of a left-you will avoid TONS of traffic like that.

Art Hotel is just across the street from Crescent Bay, which you can walk through the neighborhood and end up at Main Beach. It's about one mile away from Broadway. My wife and I wanted a quick getaway to somewhere sunny, so we went to Laguna Beach. I found a very good deal at Art Hotel, so we booked it for four nights in Feb. In my opinion, a good hotel stay will have at least three critical elements: a clean room, peace and quiet and a comfortable bed. Unfortunately, Art Hotel missed on two of those. The room […] was noisier than we liked, primarily due to an insanely loud below-window A/C unit. When it kicked on, it sounded like a freight train going by and the whole room shook. We had to turn it off just to get some sleep. (Traffic noise was also an issue.) Second, our mattress was several years past it's expiration date. There was a big valley in the middle of it and both I and my wife were inexorably drawn to that spot like in a giant taco. All romantic implications aside, it was irritating and I awoke each morning with a sore back. The hotel was too far north of the downtown area (approx 1.25 miles) to make walking a convenient option. Finally, the hotel management kept screwing up my room card. We were locked out of our room with non-working cards no less than 4 times in 4 days! The final day of our trip, we stayed at a La Quinta in San Diego near the airport. The difference in quality was amazing--at a comparable price. Pay an extra $25 or so and stay in a nicer place in Laguna Beach. You won't regret it. Read more

What a nice surprise! I have stayed in Laguna numerous times and hotels are usually very costly.This smal property had everything we needed, without the high cost I associate with the town. The location was perfect for us, quiet, but an easy and enjoyable walk into the downtown action. The staff was friendly and seemed to really take an interest in […] us and our needs. The convenience store was right next door, handy for getting snacks and wine to enjoy on our patio. The room was spacious, decorated nicely and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds have sculptures and artwork that make the place feel homey, without the fake bed and breakfast feel. I liked that the proceeds from the local art sold in the lobby goes directly to the artist and is priced fairly. I can't wait to go back. Read more

It was the perfect location since my group was scuba diving, we could basically walk down if we wanted to. I could not have asked for anything better. Front Desk was closed upon arrival and the person that checked me in was less than friendly. Hotel overall was cute with a retro vibe and a lot of fun art but the room was hard to keep at a comfortable temperature. The toilet kept overflowing and the linens had spots and holes in them. A decent hotel but not somewhere I would plan on returning to.

They did not replace all the towels, I have to ask. They forgot to replace shampoo/conditioner. I have to ask. They did not replace the cups. I didn't ask for this, I just bought some for me from the store. There was a guy with a checklist, I don't know why youj have a checklist and still miss things.The guy at the reception is very good and helpful […] from start till the end. One of the bulbs were not working, but I didn't ask bec I can do without it. Other than these, everything is okay considering the price, I had a good time. The folks at this hotel were very nice and accommodating. They supplied directions, maps and recommendations to restaurants and sites. This hotel is clean, nicely decorated (better than most in the price range) , with a fridge and microwave. Sometimes parking can be trouble in Laguna but they have a lot - so that's easy too.

We checked into the hotel late and were greeted by friendly owner Gail. We were there to participate in a race event and would be leaving the next morning before breakfast. She gave us juice and granola bars to substitute for breakfast. The room and bed were comfortable. Great night's sleep. The accommodations were a little dated but clean.
