"Nice place in Chincotegue"
The manager was very nice and accomodating. It was obvious that some recent upgrades were made, however, I think the bed could stand a new matress. The manager had commented when we checked in that he was completely full, however, it was quiet and we heard absolutely no outside noise. I had expected to, because there was a small gap in the bottom of […] our door where it meets the frame. The "breakfast" left a lot to be desired. Go down Main Street to Bills instead. All in all, tho, it was a pretty nice place. Pool was very clean and it's really a great location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very lovely stay"
Raman was friendly, met all our needs and requests. Room was clean and large enough for us to be comfortable the few days we were there. Being in a courtyard, though we were on the main street, we heard no road noise. Continental breakfast had adequate choice for all our taste preferences. Would be glad to return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, great owner, great value"
I stayed here for 2 nights when my Mom and I went for a weekend getaway to the Eastern Shore of VA. We only spent one day on Chincoteague Island, and spent the other day in Cape Charles, and driving back up the peninsula from Cape Charles making various stops along the way. The hotel was exactly what we needed - it was comfortable, clean and a great […] location that allowed for walking anywhere on the island, and 2 blocks away from Steamers and Island Creamery (both highly recommended!) The owner was super helpful, he gave great tips and advice on things to do and places to go on the island, as well as where to best view the NASA rocket launch that happened to be occuring while we were there! I also had mistakenly left my iPad in the bedside drawer when I left, and the owner was kind enough to not only hold it safely for me in the office, but mail it to me out of his own pocket (I did reimburse him!) Next time I'm there, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. They have free breakfast every morning that looked pretty good, but I didn't make use of, and they have a pool that I also didn't make use of. Each room has a little front patio to sit on and relax as well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"just a getaway..."
Satisfied, was not expecting a Hampton Inn or Hilton so was not disappointed. Convenient location, friendly manager…Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location to discover Chicoteague and Assateague. Bedroom clean but the parfum was terrible. Continent breakfast ? No, some poor small muffin, no milk , and outdated drinks (the owner knew).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to beach , but...."
The staff was friendly. The room was so small. Our toilet was leaking from the bottom and no one ever came to fix it. It also had a funny smell. I would not stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
going back I knowGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room was clean when we arrived, and we found the the manager to be very helpful. There was a drip from the shower faucet, but the management was aware of it and had the necessary part on order. The hotel is conveniently located on the main road leading to Assateague Island and lots of great local restaurants. What was quite disappointing is that […] the walls were paper thin (we could hear EVERYTHING next door), and house keeping didn't collect all of the trash nor did they leave shampoo for our final morning. "Coming back here on future trips to Chincoteague."
The host was very helpful and kind. The room was nicer than I expected for the price I paid. Bed was clean and comfortable, room was clean. Included microwave and fridge, always a plus. Seriously, super close to the beach and wildlife refuge. I'll be coming back here for sure.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very basic, clean, excellent value, nice staff"
We had a nice stay, very friendly staff, very basic motel but clean and good value. Can walk to shops and food.Genuine Expedia guest review
Not much other than a room. Advertised free breakfast but not the case. Told to go down the road for breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Met our Needs without much extra fluff"
We stopped here during a road trip and needed someplace dog-friendly. Staff was very accommodating and helpful since we were on the Island off season and not everything was open. Room was clean, slightly outdated, beds were comfortable and pillows plentiful. Not the place to stay if you're looking for fancy soaps, plush towels or a breakfast bar, but […] overall decent, affordable and conveniently located on the Islands main street. "Nice Place for Family"
Although an older property, the room was clean, the area was quiet, the pool was nice & the staff very helpful. An easy walk to downtown & to some of the shops on Maddox Ave - I would stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good value for vacation area"
served our purpose for a comfortable overnite stay on our way to OBXGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We loved the convenience of the location and the cozy setting of this inn. Service was very considerate. The room was clean and well equipped. This is an aged place with retro charm. We noticed a minor maintenance issue and slight musky odor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"ok but no breakfast"
ok for a stop over but no breakfast as stated on reservation town had very little choices delayed travel and owner made no effort at explanation would not reccomend or stay againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Stay, pet friendly, a little expensive"
09/02/14 Dctobeach Miami Beach, Florida
It was a great stay, pet friendly, a little expensive but it was on labor day weekend. The management was very accommodating and they really made some effort to make it comfortable for everyone. The price was the only thing that threw me but it was probably due to the holiday.
"Maybe For One Night"

We picked this place for a few nights - a quick getaway before school started and it looked nice enough and offered some local flavor. It was really a mixed 'bag' experience. Room was average size and had a nice flat screen TV. The bathroom was outdated and tiny. Water pressure fine but tub/shower needed some repairs. We were given only two towels and there were three of us. The bed was comfortable but the sheets didn't fit and kept coming off the edges. Hated that! The breakfast was 'included' but there was not much to it and we were asked to take only one tiny, flavorless juice from the mini-fridge. Not what I would call generous and the coffee was warm, brown water that you could put sugar and artificial milk in. Yummy. Not! The pool was clean and refreshing. The room entrances are outside - motel/motor inn style and it was fairly quiet at night. However, the paths and steps/landscaping around the rooms were littered with cigarette butts and trash. Lesson learned: spend the extra $20 or $30 a night and stay at one of the chain hotels. I will not stay there again. One final remark: the free Wifi was highly limited. First thing in the a.m. and late at night were best use times.
"not as we had hoped"
08/24/14 Surfman164 Bermuda Dunes, California
we stayed and booked 4 nights but should of left before we even checked in. The room smelled of moldy wet dog and the entire time we were there we felt dirty. porch is uncovered and the room is right up front adjacent to the front office. Poor bathroom facilities, old and antiquated.
The desk clerk was super friendly and very nice. Rooms were a little small but nicely decorated and clean. Very quiet and peaceful. We didnt have to drive, most of everything is in walking distance. Would definatly stay again
"Could be nice...."

Upon arrival the first let down was the roll away I had requested was a pee stained tri-fold mat for a $10 charge per night. There was no way my son was sleeping on it so we had to sleep 3 to a bed. Second was parking. Our room was in the corner and the parking is tricky. Cigarette butts litter the parking lot and walkways. The rooms are smoking rooms so why no ash trays? Nasty fruit and beer tops were in the flower beds...all weekend! A room for 4 gives you exactly 2 towels, we had to ask for more. We left for a day on the beach and put the do not disturb sign on the knob. When we returned our towels were gone and we were back down to 2. The girl who cleans said she goes in regardless of the sign and gets towels as they don't have enough. Wi-Fi is a joke unless you sit outside of the office. I don't think we'll stay again!

"3 night stay in July."

We stayed 3 nights. We were checked in early, which was nice. The room is okay. TV, small fridge and sink was nice. Cable tv. They have a nice pool. Parking was a bit of an issue. Someone kept taking our spot in front of our room. The room cleanliness was average. Our MAJOR PROBLEM was BUGS in the room. The first day we had flies, the 2nd day we had ants and the 3rd day we had some kind of flying insect. We were ready to get out of the room when we checked out. Management really should look into it. I think they were coming out of the shower drain. This is the first time we stayed in Chincoteague where we were afraid to take our luggage into our homes. We ended up finding bugs in one bag and we left it in the drive way for 2 days. The location is nice. We were able to walk to Steamers and Island Creamery as well as the stores on Main street and Maddox Blvd. i would try it again but if we saw bugs again, we would be outta there before our bags hit the floor.

My wife and I were staying there from sunday to thursday. Wednesday morning I went to the refuge to take photos and left my wife to sleep in. The DO NOT DISTURB sign was on te outside of the door. When I returned, my wife told me the manager let himself into our unit WITHOUT knocking or announcing himself. She was awake but still in bed. When she asked what he was doing, he became startled and mumbled something about the water then ran in the bathroom then left in a hurry. I confronted him when I came back and check out immediately. He gave me a cash refund. I do not know what he was up to because there was no water problem. If you cannot trust management, who can you trust?

This motel was just right for 1 night. It's an older place and kept fairly clean. The sheets were clean and the beds comfortable. It's in a safe and clean area. Management was pleasant and helpful with suggestions on where to go and what to eat.
"What a dump"

This place is old old. The furniture is from at least 30 years ago. The front door was warped and didn't shut completely. The carpet was old and smelly. Behind the mini fridge were old discarded plastic spoons and cups. The bathroom was creepy old. Not what we are accustomed to. These other reviewers definitely not stay in the room we did.
