Everything else was great but the AC ventilation simply does not reach the inner room (the one towards the entry door). So the room with the AC gets cold while the inner room stays stuffy.

Our stay at this hotel was great. The breakfast was plentiful and good, the swimming pool was perfect. Our problem was with check in. I made my reservations--for 7 rooms, on line and prepaid with my credit card. Strangely, the web site required me to put a different name for each room--which I forgot about at check in time. When I went to check my group […] in, the desk person said that we only had one room reserved and all the others were book. That really freaked me out because I had 18 kids waiting in the parking lot! Luckily, I called Hotels.com and they straightened things out, but we had to look up each room under the name that was required at booking for each room and I had to sign and date each one. It was quite stressful when I thought we wouldn't get our rooms! I hope there is a way to avoid this in the future! Read more

We booked & stayed here at the last minute during spring break & got a pleasant surprise. No problems to write about during our two night stay. Our room, along with the hotel was clean. There was plenty of parking. A complimentary breakfast was available each morning that featured the usual stuff like eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, etc. and it was pretty […] decent food. Good; Friendly and helpful staffs. Very new, clean, comfortable beds, nice indoor pool and spa. Coin operated laundry. Value for money compare to many other hotel at Santa Cruz or Monterey. Good stop over driving from Santa Barbara to San Francisco after visiting the Hearst Castle.

The hotel was great, the only criticism I have is that the address of the facility is not on Main Street. It is on a small side street off of Main St, which really confused my GPS and made it hard to find after dark.

We were very pleased with this hotel starting with the front desk. The room was very comfortable and clean. My husband reported a stopped up toilet next to the pool and it was taken care of in just minutes. All of the staff that we encountered were very pleasant and professional. The included breakfast was one of the best we have ever had.

Nice rooms, which is seeming pretty standard with Holiday Inn lately. Quiet location, yet close to the major hiways. Just a few minutes to Santa Cruz or a bit further to Monterey or Carmel. But cheaper than those areas, and/or better quality (than the overpriced but rundown hotels in Santa Cruz) A few issues, like the shower curtains are so short it […] is hard to keep them from leaking water all over the floor. Silly, as the bathroom is otherwise very nice, with quality adjustable showerheads. Nice thick towels. Basic shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. First room the bathtub would not drain. They quickly put me into another room with no fuss. (lucky they were not full) For some reason the first night the hallway smelled like a sewer. Seriously bad. But the rooms were fine. A little better the next day. No idea what was going on... Not the place if you need great wifi. Sadly, good wifi does not seem to be high on many hotel's priority list. It worked, with a minimum of hassle. (a password, with sensible login screen) Just not very fast. There is a guest laundry, but it is just a single washer and drier. Also, for three floors there was only one pair of vending machines. One for soda and water (which was out of water the second day), and one for a few basic snacks. But if you're going to Monterey bay area, it's a good option for the money. Read more

Stay overall was good. Was inconvenient that we requested two rooms and they could not accomodate adjacent rooms. Beds weren't the most comfortable and walls and ceilings were too thin. We were able to hear people outside the rooms and the people upstairs moving around.

We didn't want to pay the price to stay in Santa Cruz when taking our daughter to Freshman Orientation at UCSC, so opted for the Holiday Inn in Watsonville instead. Our room was excellent, the staff was incredibly friendly, and it's less than a 30 minute drive to campus. We had a suite, which was perfect for our family with 2 kids. The pool was great and never very crowded. The complimentary breakfast had a decent selection of hot foods and pastries/bagels. The hotel location is right off the freeway so it was easy to get to the nearby beaches and to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

Quality of Hotel service was fine.....condition and maintenance was very nice...room was clean....but the comfort was HORRIBLE!!!!! The bed in room 101 is EXTREMELY hard. I didn't know they made mattresses that hard. It was more comfortable to sleep on the floor....and that's what we did. I can't believe you would expect people to sleep on a mattress […] like that. That was issue number 1. Issue 2 - I could hear EVERY SINGLE sound. When the water is running, I could not even hear my daughter speak!!!!! It was so EXTREMELY loud. This hotel is located pretty much between Montery and Santa Cruz. Watsonville is a nice place to stay with plenty of dining options for travelers. The only issue I had with this Holiday Inn Express was that the mattress was very firm. It was not uncomfortable though, just firmer than I am used to.
