The door to the back parking lot and every room door slammed all night. They are set to do so with automatic closers. We complained and got no attention. The rate was high for the area and the room was only OK.

I've stayed there before. The breakfast is average at best, pretty lean options. Toast, boiled eggs, bad cereal and a wafflemaker, that's about it. Okay coffee. Biggest issue this time was staying on the front side of the building. TRaffic on Franklin all night long. Also, I asked to move rooms after the first night and the attendant gave me a snarky […] remark, 'Well you should've known to ask earlier in the day (It was before noon.) All our rooms are now accounted for." Oh..okay, I guess every single room was already checked into by then? Really? Pretty weak effort by her I have to say. The room was okay. It's overpriced for the room itself. It's more about the location with this property. Right next to campus so I could park my car and just walk. I stayed here while visiting my son who goes to University of Oregon. The location is perfect, everywhere I wanted to go was within walking distance. The room was clean and frees. The staff was friendly and helpful. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Loved the down comforter on the beds. Pillows OK. Top bedspread needs to be eliminated. Small couch in room a big plus for us. Nice indoor pool. Staff were all very courteous and friendly.

I've had good experiences at Phoenix Inn's in the past. And at this one as well. But it's getting old. Things don't work like they should, the bed linens are obviously worn, paper thin towels and they've decided to put a soap dispenser in the shower rather than even give you shampoo in a bottle. Ideal economy place for visitors to the U. of Oregon, since it's just off the edge of the campus and on a main street. Good-sized, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly & accomodating staff, mini-firdge in room, free WiFi, pool and jacuzzi and complimentary breakfast (good for grabbing a brte and coffee on way out to an appointment).

The service was good, check-in and check-out were quick and they were friendly. The hotel lobby was nice, the room dated. Our fridge was dirty and was set too cold and all our food froze over night. The shower curtain rod was coming out of the plaster which made it hang sideways. The curtain slid down to the center exposing about a foot on both sides […] getting water all over the floor. It also took about 10 mins for the main light over the sink area to "warm-up" and turn on. The hotel was ok since we used our free room voucher and only paid a few bucks out of pocket, however I wouldn't spend the $ a night if we had to pay out of pocket. The breakfast was ok. In one definitive word to rate this hotel experience we'd have to say "awesome". The service, the breakfast bar (complete breakfast by the way) the room and everything else was superb. Its especially well suited for a longer stay...kitchenette, sofa and cocktail table etc (we had one King bed). This was my 3rd stay here. The hotel is is cheerful and well maintained (properties I've encountered in this range are often tired and slightly worn). Check-in staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious with flat screen TV, fast internet connection, in-room coffeemaker (with decent coffee), microwave and small fridge. Bed is comfortable […] with firm mattress and pillow. Minor complaints: old-style bedside reading lamps are awkward with on/off switches that are impossible to find; soap gel and shampoo pump in the shower is reminiscent of cheap low-end motels. On the other hand the buffet breakfast is above average for the star rating (and it runs til' 10:00am). Ample copies of USA Today are available in the lobby as is coffee and water (all day). Gym equipment is modern and it works. Overall it's a clean, comfortable, well managed and reasonably priced 2.5 star property. I've never been disappointed. Read more

Service was great. Front desk staff and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. We were offered a choice of floors, so chose the top (4th) floor so there would be no loud neighbors above us. Room was large, comfy, and clean.... bathroom was a little bit dirty (mildew) but I guess that can happen with hotels....wifi only worked on one of the 2 queen […] beds, and was a little slow.... green leather couch was strange but comfy.... beds were soft but had support and there were a TON of pillows to select from. BUT, our room faced the busy Franklin Blvd, so traffic was noisy with windows open... AND trains ran through on the tracks across the street in the middle of the night so it was disruptive to sleep. Next time I would ask for an ODD NUMBERED ROOM on the 4th FLOOR! (hint hint) Also, (nothing that can be helped) the room doors slammed so it made it noisy when neighbors left their rooms. The free hot breakfast was fine... eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles, biscuits + gravy, cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast, english muffins, bagels, danish... much better than some other hotels' idea of "breakfast" (oatmeal packs and stale danish). The pool area was nice and clean, lots of towels, with the pool refreshing but the spa a tiny bit too hot. An excellent value for price and its nice to know that its a regional chain as they. Our room smelled so bad like deodorizer that we had to keep the window open all night. There were no rooms to switch us too. Also, the shower head in our handicapped room (we are not handicapped nor did we request this type of room) was so low it hit us at the neck and we had to bend over backwards to wash and rinse. Booked and paid for a non refundable room for 2 queen beds 6 weeks in advance. Confirmed my reservation a week before, but when I showed to check in, I was given a King bed and one that someone had laid in and the blanket was balled up in the chair. The room smelled like it was a smokers room. When I went down to say not o.k., need another room, there […] was no Double Queen's available. Why did I call long distance to confirm only to have them not follow through on what was booked and paid for? Next morning went to complain how front office handled it and was told they had a room with 2 queens opening that day. Wasn't told that the night before. I packed up and came in late that night only to have a wake up call at 4:00 a.m. that I did not ask for.. told the front office and they said "it happens":.. and to press 555 to clear any possible future wake up calls.Definitely don't see an information sheet telling folks to do that. They cleared my line and thought all was good, but for my sanity I plugged in their 555 # that night and yet another wake up call was scheduled for 3:45 am. I was polite and friendly but did say the handling of the situation was poor.. maybe staff didn't like that I was in their minds high maintenance? Scheduled those calls because I tattled on the poor service?YUCK breakfast.. this hotel will fill due to the Ducks games but in all my 50 years, I've never had such a bad experience.
