i thought the folks in the spa could have been much more friendly. I am someone without a lot of spa experience and there was no one to show me the ropes. Fortunately, I'm an explorer type so I found most every amenity. Our waiter for our dinner at Freu was beyond excellent. "Great Hotel with excellent facilities, good value"
Lovely Hotel in busy location, 10 minutes walk to busy beach. Excellent pool and poolside restaurant bar. On arrival in our room, it had a terrible smell of damp & humidity. "Very nice hotel and great for families"
We stayed for two nights and it was the last hotel we stayed at during out 2 week tour of Spain. The hotels pool is very nice and great for both adults and kids. Lloret de Mar is a party town but you won't find the young people staying here so it's calm and serene for the most part. Concierge spoke both Spanish, French and English. Location is not too […] far from the beach or city center so you can easily walk everywhere. We stayed us a comfort room and it was very big but you could hear the people above us when they walked with their high heals on or if the spoke loudly. "On the road in Catalunya!"
The hotel was "good" overall. The rooms were clean, the staff were pleasant although most could not speak any English. Since we couldn't speak Spanish, French became our "meet in the middle" language. The outdoor pool was beautiful but not heated and was very cold. Lloret de Mar was too commercial for our tastes. We rented a car and spent all of our time driving to various destinations (e.g. Montserrat, Girona, Tossa de Mar, Barcelona, ParcAventura, etc.). We had a great trip overall and enjoyed the sites of Catalunya (i.e. the Coata Brava & Barcelona). "Could Have Been Much Better!"
Stayed 3 nights over Easter. Hotel is in an elevated position with great views. Staff are friendly and helpful while food in restaurant is excellent. Unfortunately for us our stay included a collection of failures which should not happen in a hotel of this standard. On arrival they claimed not to have received our (confirmed) booking from hotels.com! […] Took a while to sort but they did and upgraded us. At midnight discovered water leaking through ceiling light in bathroom - dangerous so we were moved immediately (room downgrade). Next morning discovered ants everywhere in room - moved again to room with no balcony. Equipment in this room (safe, internet, lamps) did not work so we had to move again - 4 rooms by lunch time and we were still in an inferiour room to the first. Resumiré mi comentario repitiendo algo que dijo un huésped durante su checkout: "Es el peor 5 estrellas en el que he estado". Valoro muchissimo el Wi-Fi gratis en la habitación, no soporto los 5 estrellas que te cobran 10 euros por hora cuando estas pagando 150 o 200 por noche. Le spa est petit et nous n'y avons accès que pour 2 heures et sur reservation (15 euros par personne) ce qui est beaucoup pour la prestation (sauna de 2m x 2,5 et hammam de meme taille). The area had beautiful beaches although not for small children as sloping beach so sea was very deep but suitable beach within walking distance. I would go back out of season

Lovely hotel, all areas were very clean and well maintained. The Superior bedroom was immaculate and very well appointed. The dressing gowns and spa toiletries are a lovely touch, as was the jacuzzi bath and double sinks. Staff were very helpful, literally couldn't have done more to help.

Nice hotel, enjoyed the outdoor pool & delicious breakfast. Rooms are good enough, loved the view from the balcony. Used free shuttle to the beach a few times, very convenient. Good location, the hotel is close to all the shops, cafés & supermarkets. The only bad thing is that there is no Gym.

had a few hiccups in the beginning arrived at 2.30 and room was not ready until 4pm was given wrong room but reception quickly fixed that. room was nice wouldn't be a uk 5* but was clean and comfy, a few time we would come in and it smelled like drain. the spa was nice all though the steam room was not working. the cleaners were very polite. restaurant expensive to didn't really eat there, had a 12 euro sandwich while we waited for our room. they do not provide a iron in the room which did upset my partner has he had to pay 4 euro per item to have it iron by the hotel. wifi very very poor in the room. I would stay again but we did find that not many black people stay in this area so we did have a lot of stares and whispering daily.

Overall I couldn't complain about the hotel however; it was slightly disappointing from what we had expected. I had paid for a 5* hotel as a treat to my sister & niece, this turned out to not feel at all like we had received a 5* holiday. The hotel is very clean & set in lovely well maintained grounds; we visited for a four night short break on a half-board basis. (breakfast & evening meal included). Initally on our arrival 23:45pm we were greeted by a very polite and pleasant gentleman who made check in a very simple procedure. He offered to assist with our bags and informed us to contact him if there was anything at all we required. We were slightly disappointed with our room, we were on the 7th (top) floor and were overlooking a driveway. We were expecting to have a balcony which wasn't the case; I hadn't specified we wished a balcony on making our booking as I had wrongly assumed as it was a spanish resort there would be one. Our room was also the first along the corridor from the lift and throughout the night the noise of the lift squeaking was very loud. We were woken very frequently each night of our stay. All the staff were pleasant and polite but there was a lack of English speaking staff, most seemed more comfortable speaking either Spanish or French. I couldn't fault the staff around the pool areas or at the bars however, the dining room caused us a problem. Initially on entering the dining room we were met by a waitress at the door who asked for our room number, once this was checked on her list we then proceeded to enter. Our first experience was breakfast which looked as if it was going to be very straight forward, it was a buffet style for the main part however; we realised if you wanted hot food you were meant to order from the waiting on staff. A waiter asked if we would like tea or coffee, both my sister & I both ordered coffee which when arrived turned out to be a pot of tea (neither of us drink). After a few minutes of waiting I managed to explain to a different waiter that we had ordered coffee not tea, he apologised and then brought us 1 cup and a small jug with black coffee; I then had to wait to attract his attention to ask for milk, by the time it came the coffee was cold; we just gave up and settled for orange juice. The evening meals were also disappointing, there were only two choices which consisted of a salad buffet and one other, e.g. prawns/soup. The main course also only had a choice of three options, one fish or meat dish and a not very uninspiring vegetarian option. My niece is only 14 and the first night they never advised that they had a children's menu; we had noticed this by the 2nd night and this gave her more scope to have something she liked. We only had evening meals for 3 nights, the meat course on 2 of those nights was a sirloin steak, myself & sister ordered the steak the second night & tried to explain we would like them well done, this turned out to be a disaster, they had clearly been flash-fried, the inside was raw, not even rare. No one approached to check whether we were happy with our meal, we waited over 45mins before they came to clear the table & nothing was mentioned about the fact neither of us had not eaten our meals. The desert option was also very disappointing and limited on all three nights, two choices one of which was a scoop of ice cream (strawberry, chocolate or vanilla) and a cake/apple pie. Generally a nice break for a few nights. If I had been going for a two week holiday I would have been really disappointed. There is a lack of any fun feeling or entertainment within the hotel, there was a pool table but the air conditioning was on and the room was unbearable to stay in for too long. I would recommend that this hotel is probably more suited to couples and particularly if you are Spanish or French speaking.

My partner and I stayed here for one week at the beginning of July. This was my 5th stay at the hotel and by far my best. The hotel staff were helpful and ensured our stay was enjoyable. We were upgraded to a Deluxe room free of charge upon arrival. The room was clean, spacious and had all the amenities we required. We were half board and were not disappointed by the quality and standard of food. There was an appropriate choice at breakfast and dinner. We spent time at the pool which was quiet and well staffed. We found the staff to be friendly and went out of there way to ensure our stay was excellent. Thank you to the managers for making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely return next year. Very disappointed by this 3 stars hotel pretending to be luxury !!! They are lying to the clients about the standing and the most important that the hotel manager does not care about clients opinion. He is not client oriented (I have never seen it in 5 stars hotel ). You will be better treated in 4 stars. The rooms and hotel facilities are old . People on the reception can not do anything without mng approval and this manager does not care about clients problems. I have never heard sorry for the terrible room with the key out of service, wedding party disco (in the hotel)till 4 am next to our room , electricity dangerous for our lives. The TV in the room is very old ( not plasma). The restaurent menu is poor . I have never it Spanish dishes like paella or tortilla. The same buffet every day for the breakfast and almost the same for the diner. Not many fresh vegetables. I ate much better in Canaries . The garden is poor as well , no flowers . Very bad view from the small old balcon. So my a advise is to avoid this hotel as you can find better price/quality in Spanish Ireland's or other regions. You can not pay for 5 stars hotel pretending to be luxury and to be treated like somebody who should accept what he had even if it was not what they sold to you.

Overall very good hotel. We stayed for one night were immediately upgraded for free on check-in for free. The rooms were very clean and had all the amenities you needed (and a wonderful view of the city and sea). Great shuttle service to their private beach club (with full food and bar service on the beach)! Had a great time at the casino located in the property as well. I rated this one star less as some of the customer service was lacking for a '5 star'. For example we ordered breakfast in the room and our tea was forgotten, when we called down to reception they said they could bring it up but they would have to charge us another 10 euro service charge, needless to say, that wasn't the answer we were expecting (especially since we paid over 50 euros on breakfast for 2). Another example was when we asked for a taxi when we were leaving, the guy at reception seemed completely confused and just started shaking his head yes. So, after a few minutes we asked the other person at reception (who looked like the manager) and then he actually called a cab for us. Other than a few of these service related things, the hotel was very comfortable, quiet, and clean.

Writing a review must be a very responsible and serious act. It sometimes infects the future for very many hard good hotel employees and ruins years of the building an hotel reputation. This happens by irresponsible guests complaining about meaningless items like lack of toilet paper or a cold egg found in their salad.. Bad thing happens everywhere and to all of us. Even best employee could find himself in bad mood one day. This is my fourth visit in Guitart Monterrey hotel and I am doing maybe an unorthodox act by writing a second review for the hotel, just because, among very many 5 star hotels I have been staying, this is, without any doubt, one of the best! Just to prove a point, I am in Spain right now. I had to spend a week in Lloret, Costa Brava, and second week in Tarragona, Costa Dorada, 150km away. The original plan was to move in to a local best hotel there. Eventually, I found myself driving 300 kilometers and 6 hours on the roads almost every day just to be back with the company of these warm people, the best service, best food, best surroundings so on and on and on.... Just for the sake of reliability I couldn't find one negative remark on their behalf... So next time you write a review think twice on every remark. Most of all, you must shaw some compression.
