My stay was very good. I really liked the location of the hotel and that is very important for me, maybe more than the hotel itself. The prices in Denmark are more expensive than I imagined and taxis are about double as in USA. The food is also expensive! The location was about two blocks from the city center and much of the local shopping areas. I […] chose not too purchase my breakfast at the hotel at booking (but did buy it once just to try it) and it was a good choice. The food was good, buffet style, but relatively simple and expensive for breakfast, about 25 US! I saved by walking to local restaurants and stores, McDonalds 711 etc... Everyone rides bicycles and I recommend doing it as well. I did it on my last day and it was safe and fun, you can get around the city and most streets have bike lanes and traffic lights for bikes! overall the hotel is basic but clean, safe and in a good location so, if you want an inexpensive hotel(for the area) I would recommend it. If you are looking for western luxury type hotel, you wont get it here. Read more

The hotel was great. Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, charmingly furnished with a great view, the breakfast was delicious (a bit pricey if you don't buy it in advance, but very good), and the location is absolutely perfect - a 2 minute walk to the main shopping street or a number of delicious restaurants, and within a mile of everything […] you want to see. The only slight negatives: 1) the mattress and pillows were not the most comfortable - both were on the thin side, and 2) the WiFi is only in the lobby. This is a great old hotel in an absolutely perfect location for Copenhagen. Sure, it's old - so the carpets look a bit dated, and there are some cracks here and there, but it's clean, and quite frankly, charming. Check-in was easy and the key is not so huge as to be inconvenient. The elevator is tiny, but there's also a second elevator outside the courtyard. […] It was a bit uncomfortable fitting both of us plus our two suitcases in the elevator, but without the suitcases, you could fit four. The room was small, but absolutely adequate with great, big windows overlooking the museum. There was little storage room, but we managed. The bathroom is fine - it's a wet room like many bathrooms in Europe. There is shampoo and body soap in one, and a great, big vanity. You can generally pickup the lobby's free wi-fi depending on your room location. Overall, with such a great location (close to Stroget and the main train station) and an extremely affordable rate, Hotel Danmark flies above the rest in its class. Read more

I thought this hotel was in poor condition. The carpeting in the public areas was badly soiled and threadbare on stairways. The basement where we were able to store luggage was like a dungeon. Elevator was very small, could only accommodate two people and two suitcases at a time. The staff were very pleasant, courteous, and helpful. The room keys were […] solid brass and weighed so much that most people left them at the desk when leaving the hotel. Some people would condider these antiques charming but they are not practical. There is really no lobby, just a passageway with seats along the wall. Breakfast area was nice and food was pretty good. Shower in bathroom was not separate but just a corner of the bathroom with a small partition and curtain around it. The water went directly onto the bathroom floor but the drain seemed to work well and kept the floor from flooding.Cot that we ordered was not in the room when we checked in and was not delivered until 8:00 pm. We booked the special rate room and the quality of the room reflected it but I would still stay there again. Copenhagen is an expensive place but this rate was very good and the location was excellent. Room had to be upgraded at my expense from original offering on Hotels.com website. I would classify the advertised room as 2 Star Older hotel. Connecting hallways with lots of different levels getting to our room. Expensive considering 5star hotels in Berlin and Dresden sound proofing to street noise Nil!!! No A/C in summer heat

A great location to see Copenhagen at a value price. It is walking distance from the train station and 300 Krona from the airport. You will be within walking distance to a great part of the city and by adding a " Hop On Hop Off " ride, very little will be missed on your quest to see Copenhagen

We stayed for one night in this hotel and I would not recommend it in the heat of the summertime. The weather was very mild and fairly cool when we went (early May) and it was still hot in the room. We were on the first floor & close to ground level, so it was not a very good idea to open our windows because of the busy location of the hotel. Absolutely do not take a car if you can keep from it. The location was central - I got around everywhere by walking. Central station was just three blocks away and I hardly used the subway/buses since everything was walkable. The hotel is old, but clean. The rooms are small with very small bath rooms. Do not get a room on the side of the street; you will hear noise all night long. Starting at 7am the noise intensifies as people head to work.

Something is up with the plumbing at this hotel. If you leave the bathroom door open while staying there beware...it exudes a stench from the sewers. Other than that everything was pretty average...but you are close to the Tivoli Gardens.

The hotel is well situated, had a great rate via Hotels.com, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. However, it is not in great shape, and the rooms need some serious work. Based only on the rooms, the hotel would get 2 stars at best. However, the service, location and price were excellent, so on balance it is easily a 3 star experience.
