The tiles in the bathroom were falling apart, and the pool area looks like it is under permanent construction, but the staff were friendly, the breakfast is good, and the location is very convenient for us.

Check in took more time than I would have cared for. Person running the desk at the time had no clue how to use the system and seemed a bit flustered. Had to wait for someone else to come help her. Otherwise the staff was very friendly. First room I received a shock when I touched the light switch enough to make my arm go numb. I think for the amount spent, it was very good. The staff was very nice and helpful. It is not a glamorous or fancy place, but it was well worth the money. The location was 2 blocks from downtown and right off the freeway which made it very convenient.

Staff was prompt and extremely courteous as soon as I entered the door. My check-in was completed fast and I was immediately invited to refreshments by manager. Location of hotel near major highways and downtown is a plus. Surrounding neighborhood is a little rundown with lots of foot traffic and transients/homeless. Lobby is very nice with plenty of seating, tvs, and computers. Check in was quick and the front desk friendly. Room was nice but a bit small. The breakfast was good and the staff pleasant but the hotel smelled bad- like a wet dog. The hotel seemed a bit worn- dirty carpet etc.but it was very busy during our stay.. For the same price we had stayed at nicer accommodations on our trip. We were there for only one night and checked in late so didn't complain to them about anything.

I booked this hotel after staying in another Clarion in Eureka, California. That particular hotel left a favorable impression on me, and I saw no reason that this one in Colorado Springs would be materially different. The lobby is nicely furnished, and presents itself as welcoming. However, once I arrived at my room, the true age of the building quickly […] became apparent. The carpet and bathroom furnishings were in working order, but were certainly a little rough around the edges. This gives the room an ambiance of a cheaper facility. Aesthetics aside, the bed was very comfortable and the HVAC was fully adjustable from within the room, which made the stay more enjoyable. Additionally, the flat screen TV is not blocked by annoying nanny technology, allowing the guest to hook up a laptop to watch movies from the hard drive if there is nothing of interest on cable. Overall, my stay wasn't horrible- the staff was friendly and informative, and the room was actually fairly comfortable. However, I was a bit disappointed in the age of the hotels room fixtures compared to other franchised locations. Read more

I had a very pleasant stay at the Clarion. I enjoyed the exercise room, the free wifi and breakfast, and nice staff. Room was very quiet. Quick and easy drive to Colorado College, where my son goes to college. Not the most up-to-date facility, but everything was very clean.

For a quick getaway to the CMZ , a great place, at a great price. Grandkids loved swimming in the pool. Breakfast was as good as any other place (food was hot). The comfort of the bed was not that great, a bit too hard and unyeilding, but a decent night sleep.

It was a lovely hotel and our rooms were cleaned each day and fresh towels were brought in. The blow dryer wasn't working when we arrived and we told them and they had someone up there right away to change it and give us another one. Friendly staff too.

The room is adequate. The heating gave me a terrific headache, I thought I had the flu. Breakfast: coffee too scalding hot, not real tasty. What do they stir into those scrambled eggs to make them so thin and wet. Salsa needs work. How about Cholula hot sauce instead of Tabasco. Hash browns okay. What are those little cylindrical sponges? Oh, sausage!. […] Once they had good bacon, but I heard the management thought it was too expensive. Don't ever make a collect long distance call from the room. The company Intellical or something, charged something lilke $140 for 3 phone calls when I only made 2 and 60 minutes when I only spoke for maybe 5 or 10 minutes total. The staff is nice. I always need a computer with internet access which they have, but the keyboard is usually sticky and the mouse sometimes unresponsive. I will probably be back because I haven't found a hotel with usable computers and I always need to log on to work. Read more

LOCATION- Didn't ask about a shuttle into downtown area but it's a quick 2min drive from the hotel over the highway. Garden of the Gods is about 10-15min drive away. It was ok for three stars hotel. They had two complimentary drinks everyday from 4 pm to 6 pm. Breakfast was ok. Not much variety. The info binder in the room said that guests have free bottles of water in the lobby: no true. Pretty close to downtown. Customer service in the front desk was good.

The room was clean and comfortable but the rest of the hotel looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1980's. The elevator is ancient and slow. There is a lot fo ambient noise from the neighborhood. That said, the complimentary hot breakfast in the morning is excellent.

I was terrified every time I got on the elevator that it was going to break down (there was no elevator inspection posted). The motel was good. When we first got there the room that we were given hadn't been cleaned. We didn't arrive till late in the day. They did give us a new room. The room that we got was clean and nice. One thing I was surprised is that there wasn't any mirror in the room except in the bathroom, The managers reception in the evening was nice.
