Hotel Ilaria & Residenza dell'Alba - Lucca

This Hotel was a joy to stay at...............First class, smart, clean, and well run by friendly and helful staff members. The location within the city walls, was a good bonus, as was the unlimited use of the Hotel bycycles. Breakfast was superb. The room was lovely also.

pleasant and helpful staff,help yourself to coffee ,beer and cakes, available all day in the lobby ,no charge.super breakfast with lots of choice. rooms were spotless ,towels thick and fluffy. chamber maids and porters all friendly. we had a wonderful holidayin lucca made all the more enjoyable by our stay at the superb hotel ilaria

Lovely hotel would recommend in a heartbeat. Fabio on reception was excellent and very, very helpful, Great walking distance to the centre and they will even loan you a bike which is actually easier than walking!!! Room was spotless, fresh sheets etc. Would absolutely recommend and Lucca is amazing, a mini Florence with not so much traffic and much more laid back....

We had a suite in the annexe and could not fault it, Stylish, very comfortable. We should have stayed longer and will certainly be returning.

We arrived in pouring rain after a very stressful drive from the airport having got lost! The receptionist had excellent English, was charm itself and produced an umbrella! The Hotel was easy to find and had what appeared to be a very small parking area, but we merely left the car keys at reception and the car was parked for us. Whenever we wanted the car it was then produced for us ready to go. The hotel is not sumptuous but very comfortable and the free coffee/soft drinks area is a very nice touch...and with beautiful free biscuits! The rooms were comfortable and clean and the bathroom had everything you could want. Breakfast was taken in a very attractive conservatory and was more than adequate with a very good choice. Being buffet you could stay there indefinitely and make a real pig of yourself! The staff were always couteous and cheerful and the hotel has a lovely atmosphere. Free bikes were a bonus as well. We couldn't fault it and would thoroughly recommend both it and Lucca for a wonderful short break

Very convenient in this walled city with limited vehicle access, easy to find off autostrada. Met all our expectations. Would we stay there again? Most definitely.

Entrance to hotel was in a lovely walled cobbled courtyard, private. Very clean, bright and modern decor. Pleasant friendly efficient staff. Room cleaned twice a day. Breakfast Buffet plentiful. Would stay there again.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Comfortable, friendly, efficient, superb breakfast , free beer , coffee and cakes all afternoon, free bikes, lovely sun terrace...... superb. Oh yes, free parking as well which was great in the parking hell that is Lucca! Room even included a jacuzzi!!

Great hotel. Extremely helpful front desk. Lots of freebies to make you feel welcome. Beds were good, but pillows very hard. Great bathroom with huge tub. Fabulous breakfast. Also had a free buffet in the afternoon which we missed but heard was great. Perfect location in Lucca, away from the hustle of the town, but very close to everything, inside the walls. Free parking in the hotel garage.

I booked Hotel Illaria after reading excellent reviews. The hotel certainly lived up to it. My only downpoint was one of the receptionists was very rude. She was so unhelpful which totally contradicted the reviews I had read. We left on a sour note as she made an issue about ringing a taxi a 2nd time for us after we had waited 20 minutes. We were heading to airport and were anxious to catch flight. However, the rest of the staff were delightful and I would still recommend the hotel. Its wonderful and well located. Facilities are brill esp the free snack bar

It doesn't look like much but it was AMAZING! We had a two level suite and it was phenomenal. I'd recommend this place to anyone planning to stay in Lucca. A little tricky to get there in a car, but wonderful otherwise. Loved it!

Our favorite hotel among the six we stayed at during our two week trip to Italy. To start, the Hotel Ilaria's staff was phenomenal. They all were incredibly friendly, and helped us with train arrangments, suggestions for side trips, etc. The room was nothing out of the ordinary, but it was clean, well air conditioned and decent size. The hotel has a comfortable outdoor patio that offered a relaxing, shady, place to read, drink a class a wine or take a nap. The breakfast buffet was well stocked, offered a good variety of food. Just a nice place that we would go back to again.

...this hotel is perfect for a stay in Lucca, it's location is superb, nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the rooms are perfectly acceptable...working on the basis that you don't spend a lot of time in them! Yes, the hotel is a little dated, but it does have charm and what it lacks in style is gains in service.

We satyed there with our two kids and we got a room that had a loft upstairs adn it was very nice. The room was very big and clean...recommend it.

Great location and very hospitable staff. A real pleasure to stay there and discover the charm of Lucca.

This is a good hotel, visited several time and will return. Staff are very helpful and make you very welcome. the hotel, although a little short of amenity space, is right in the heart of things and you are in the middle of this beautiful ancient city. The only hotel I would recommend in Lucca and I have stopped at many over the years.

The hotel was located within the historic downtown area; the staff was exceptionally helpful; the hotel offered a convenient beverage bar in the lobby; the internet access in the lobby was helpful; rooms were comfortable; large and spacious for an European hotel; bathroom was comfortable and well-appointed; only difficulty was that it was warm and the air-conditioning had been turned off because of a recent cold spell and it was quite warm without air-conditioning (even in the later part of October). Really a great find of a hotel!

Many ammenities, including the use of bikes in order to ride around the ramparts, this "smart" hotel inside the walls and you can esaily walk to all points in Lucca in 10 minutes. Don't miss the nightly Puccini concerts at the church where he first began playing. Great breakfast, free parking, friendly staff.

The hotel is right in the heart of Lucca. It is very clean and the service is excellent! If I had one complaint is that their coffee needs improvement.

Hotellets beliggenhet er perfekt for å utforske LUCCA. Det at hotellet har egen garasje er absolutt et pluss. Ellers hadde det vært håpløst å parkere. Rommet kunne vært større, men det var ellers meget bra. Frokosten var god og variert (buffet). I baren var det en buffet med gratis forfriskninger hele dagen. Når vi skulle ut å spise om kvelden, ble vi av resepsjonisten anbefalt en restaurant som bare lå fem minutter unna - utenom de typiske turistområdene. Restauranten var en må ha vært en godt bevart hemmelighet. kjempekoselig, topp serive, meget god mat og prismessig absolutt akseptabelt. Restauranten heter Ammodonostro (Via della Fratta). Fantastiske dager i Lucca.

Et fortrinligt hotel, alt fungerede perfekt for os, som var til en halvtredsårs fødselsdag i Lucca, så selv ved en sen hjemkomst (kl. 3 om natten) blev vi modtaget med smil, ligesom det hurtigt blev klart for os at natportieren var bekendt med vores forventede sene ankomst og sad oppe og ventede på os- det er service! Hotelet var rent og pænt og levede helt op til vores forventninger for et hotel i en mindre Italiensk turistby, personalet hjælpsomt og på dupperne så snart man trådte ind i receptionen. Da vi som familie er vant med at rejse, såvel i Europa som Fjernøsten og USA mener vi at have et passende sammenligningsgrundlag og kan med det i baghovedet sagtens anbefale dette hotel til andre i forbindelse med et kort ophold i Lucca. Ved et længerevarende ophold vil hotelet nok fremstå som lidt lille og et større hotel udenfor Luccas ringmur med pool og andre faciliteter ville nok være ønskværdigt når der er børn/unge med!

Dejligt hotel med gode værelser. Hjølpsomt personale og fin betjening. Hotellet ligger godt i udkanten af Lucca, hvor man på få minutter er i centrum af byen.

Våra 4 dygn i Lucca kunde inte blivit bättre: mycket tack vare Hotel Ilaria. Rummet var fräscht, personalen var underbart hjälpsamma och proffs på service! Frukostbuffen var jättebra med massor av färsk frukt och avnjöts på en vacker, romantisk terrass. Ett perfekt ställe både för familjen med lite större barn och den romantiska resan för två. Och jättebra parkeringsservice för oss som bilade. Vi lämnade tryggt bilnycklarna till personalen för parkering. Personalen rekommenderade restauranger som var riktigt bra.

Udmærket hotel med god beliggenhed samt fine morgenmadsfaciliteter med gode inden og udendørs terrasser.Standardværelserne er ok, men sengene meget hårde.Herudover fornem service med gratis, internet,vand,kaffe,øl diverse snacks fra kl.11-19 hver dag.Et rigtig godt breakfast hotel, der vil tiltale de fleste.Der udlånes iøvrigt cykler gratis af det meget servicemindede personale.

We had four nights of hotel Illaria. Everything was perfect, very good service, friendly staff, nice breakfast buffet,many free services. Everything was ok. We can only recommend this hotel.

God og central beliggenhed inden for bymuren Fint værelse og god morgenmad Værelse mod gaden gav dog trafikstøj ved åbent vindue.

Tilbragte to nætter på dette hotel i Lucca, og det var en meget behagelig oplevelse. Jeg kan ikke komme på en eneste dårlig ting at sige.

bonne sitation pour visiter Lucca qui est une trés belle ville par ailleurs! acceuil trés agréable et disponible. petit dejeuner extrement agreable sur la terrasse au 1° étage. la chambre etait parfaite. bref nous avons été tout a fait satisfaits de cet hotel. n'hésitez pas!

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral aber ruhig an der Stadtmauer von Lucca; Unser Zimmer in der ca 1 Gehminute vom Haupthaus entfernt gelegenen Residence Alba war sehr grosszügig und gut ausgestattet; der Service war super, morgens und abends wurde das Zimmer gereinigt, frische Handtücher, frisches kostenloses Wasser usw...; das Frühstücksbuffet war deutlich über italienischem Standard mit Eierspeisen, frischem Obst, Müsli, Kuchen etc...; ein kostenlosens Snack und Getränke Buffet im Haupthaus während des Tages, eine schöne Terasse mit einladendem Whirlpool, kostenloser Fahrradverleih und die super freundlichen Mitarbeiter runden das sehr gute Leistungsspektrum des Hotels ab. wir würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen

Mage til imødekommenhed skal man lede længe efter. Det virker på ingen måde kommercielt, med frit internet og fri minibar i aulaen. Desuden ligger det helt perfekt lige over for byporten.

Mi son trovato davvero bene! L'hotel è molto carino, pulito, elegante. La posizione è splendida. C'è una terrazza dove si può prendere il sole. Il personale è molto accogliente. Unici nei: alcuni tedeschi un po' troppo rumorosi quando ho soggiornato io, e la colazione un po' scarna.
