Since I had to stay in touch for my business, I had limited my search to hotels that have internet service in the rooms. However, when we got there, we were told that internet was extra - 2 euros for half an hour! And the connection wasn't even good. We had to take advantage of Starbucks and other places that provide wifi. The other thing that bothered […] me was that we had to leave the room key at the front desk whenever we left the hotel. Hotel staff was very rude. Every time we addressed any member of the staff they seemed mad and upset. They didn't accommodate any of our request. Not even granted us an extra towel. We were traveling with a 5yrs old, and needed an extra towel. Everyone on staff said they had specific instructions about not giving any extra towel. The towels on the room […] were past of being replaced. We had to go to Corte Ingles and get towels to use during our 4 nights stay. The bathroom had mildew spots all over. The lamp on the wall was hanging on a wire, about to fall over the bed. We selected this hotel due to the great location it has, but it was definitely not worthy. The hotel is very modern and nice, great location just minutes from historical sights. We had three guests in one of the rooms and for our surprise we got regular third bed (not uncomfortable rollaway:). We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

The hotel didn't have room safes, no extra pillows or blankets were provided in a room which was freezing even while the AC was off. Bed was uncomfortable and springs were noisy. Room walls did not muffle noise much at all and things like slamming doors, flushing toilets and conversations could be heard as if they were happening in the same room. It was such a pleasure staying at Regent in Madrid. We got there a little earlier than our check in time but were able to get our room right away. As soon as we got in the cleanliness of the room just took all our stress from traveling away. The rooms are a tiny bit small but very comfy. The beds were very comfy as well. One […] thing we didn't realize for some reason was to make sure to leave our key at the front desk when we left the hotel each day so they could clean it by the time we returned, but that was our own fault. There is also no free Wi-Fi in the rooms. It costs two euro for 30 mins or ten euro for 24 hours. Other than that the hotel staff is immensely helpful and is more than willing to get you where you want to go. If you book early enough you will probably get a great deal on the price. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there and if I ever return to Madrid, Regent is the hotel I will pick. Read more

We had a room near the the staircase and it was loud. The walls are very thin and we could hear everything from people going up and down the stairs. We could also hear all the street noise and thankfully we weren't facing the main street, Gran Via. Sleeping in this hotel is a serious problem and I would recommend bringing ear plugs. I booked this hotel for it's apparent location, and was not dissapointed. We were able to walk to all major sights and the metro station was close enough when we needed to get to the train station and airport. A couple streets over from the hotel there was some sketchiness, but I never felt unsafe in or around our hotel (the doors were locked and we […] had to ring ourselves in after midnight). The staff spoke minimal English which proved to be problematic when checking in, but a smile and an attempt at Spanish helped tremendously. The internet was not working, the fire alarm went off on our first night, and yes, the walls are paper thin; we heard practically everything in the rooms around us, including really loud partiers who came in at 6:30AM. Perhaps not appropriate for high- end travelers, but if you're more interested in exploring the city, this place definitely works well. Read more

The staff is extremely rude, but I think thats just how the service is in Madrid. Beds were very hard, and the walls are paper thin. Also, the staff cleans the rooms with very stinky cleaning supplies. This being said, the Hotel is located in a very convenient area. Right by the metro, and lots of places to eat and shop.

Really enjoyed exploring the city. Regente is within easy walking distance of most of the "sights" and is also convenient for the metro. Nice, clean hotel in a great location with (on the whole) friendly staff. A mention must be made of the lovely bar lady who worked most evenings - so smiley!

GOOD things about the hotel: it's close to everything in the city. it feels safe, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the design was beautiful. It makes you feel good relaxing in your room. TV channel is great. BAD thigs are: The staffs are a bit unfriendly. Some are rude and they do not have great internet service.

Location is perfect.....unfortunately the staff are TERRIBLE and very rude. Hotel also charges 6 euro per day for gym and even charges you to use the in-room safe. The photos online tell a different story to the actual state of the rooms and hotel.

Our family stayed in this hotel for totally 5 nights. Nothing is good except the location which is close to the Sol station and all the local shopping area. The staffs there were not helpful at all especially the young lady and the old guy in the front desk. Their attitude are not friendly, rude and impatient all the time. The best thing about the Hotel Regente was the excellent location, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars within just a few strides. The room was comfortable, plenty of space and nice bathroom. Very nice to be able to open the window fully! During our stay the hotel was being refurbished, which meant some dust/debris on the reception floor, and some noise […] until fairly late on one of the nights, but it didn't really bother us. Was awoken late at night by other people walking to their rooms but that's not the fault of the hotel, but the fault of selfish, thoughtless people. I find it hard to believe some of the carping comments that have been made about this hotel. The location is incredibly central, but in a dense urban site inevitbly the views from some of the rooms are not worth a window! It is well equipped and comfortable.
