The hotel is not much to look at but the friendly staff, reasonable rooms, ample parking and proximity to the city made for a good experience. Breakfast was also really nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel Pineta Palace Dear guest, thank you for your positive comment, we are happy to have made your stay so a good experience. Hope to see you again in Rome…. Best regards
"Worst stay EVER!"
Staffs weren't nice, few were very rude, the "nice" ones were pretenders rather sincerely nice. They tried to sell us EVERYTHING of their services, made us feel like we were in an used car dealership! Room's walls were not sound proof, we literally heard every tiny bit of noise from our neighbors.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel Pineta Palace Dear Customer, Thank you for your comment, I regret that you have a negative experience. About the reception staff is very rare that is considered so negatively (see comments from other customers) Getting it right, the reception has a duty to inform and help and make the vacation of our clients as comfortable as possible, and if you are not interested about the information you could simply say ... "I'm not interested thank you." For the room we have different style of rooms for every budget and you could choose the one with the facilities and location favorable to you. Best regards
"Nice Family hotel."
Breakfast was very good. But only for 3 days max as, they do not change the menu. Did not like the toilets as there was water clogging in the sink.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worst Hotel Ever!"
Awful, loud, dirty, old. Did not look like any pictures I saw. Walls made of paper, dirty, broken down chairs on "Patio", broken glass on patio. Awful! Worst two days of my trip!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"away from Downtown"
Stay was good. beds need upgrading. the cost for wi fi was too much it is $10 per person per device so if you have 2 cell phones and 1 laptop it cost $30 per 24 hrs that is way over the top.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hotel Pineta Palace Dear guest, Many thanks for your general positive comment, concerning the cost for wifi probably you booked a basic standard room, if you’ll book a classic one the wifi is included. About the distance we are not so far in fact in max 30 minutes by bus or underground you can reach the Vatican city and the city center. We hope to see again in our magic City !!! Bests Regards
"disappointing, lame attitude."
This hotel was very disappointing for us, definitely not a 4 stars hotel!. it is pretty far from the city center, you have to use a bus which takes a lot of time waiting for in the bus station. The clerks in the reception desk are not welcoming, not nice, they do you a favor when they answer you. it feels like they are not so much into giving you a […] useful information as a tourist, unless the hotel can benefit from it in some way. we had to ask many times until we got an answer about a cheap normal way to get to the airport. they also charged us a "staying in rome" tax when we checked out from the hotel. it was not mentioned before at all, and then when we left we suddenly had to pay another 30 euros!! we would recommend you to find another hotel!!! The hotel is good, but the breakfast could be better. There were some weird juices, but no orange juice. The rooms are a bit old, but still nice. I would recommend it but be aware that you get to get buses to go to city center. Staff is friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent enough value in suburb of Rome"
The Hotel Pineta Palace is in a safe suburb of Rome and is value-priced if you don't mind the inconvenience commuting by bus to downtown Rome (3 Euros round trip per person). A high caloric, hot and cold breakfast buffet is included with the room rate which is a plus. They have the best butter I've ever eaten in my life. The concept of customer service […] is pretty much lost on the hotel desk staff with the exception of the evening desk clerk Angelo. The chambermaids are very good. Take a facial washcloth with you since this hotel does not provide them. We did not find any air conditioning in the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Hotel with cover parking"
Very good Hotel for the price, the best thing is that has cover parking that is very important in Rome. The breakfast was very good and was easy to get to the center, in the reception will give you a map to show you where to get the bus that will leave you just in front of the Vatican city.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good for the price."
Very clean hotel. Personnel very helpful and pleasant. Should include two vegetables with their dinner menu. Nice free breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not a terrible choice"
It was a nice hotel. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was decent at best. Not the best location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"good hotel but far from central Rome"
The hotel was nice. Better than I had expected. However it was a long way from central Rome. On their site it said that they had a shuttle to take you into town. They did not. We spent a lot on cab fares. Otherwise it was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very old hotel with bed bugs in the room.....do not stay there.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is fine, but there is only one disadvantage- his location - 20 min from a subway station- it's very farGenuine Expedia guest review
My wife and I stayed at Pineta Palace about a week, including Christmas and New Year. Overall, no major complaints, but no compliments either.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were driving so needed a hotel with parking. Standard room required a E10 additional charge as did internet service. Room was clean, shuttle was convenient, breakfast was on par with others. Over all 2.5 starsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value for your money"
The hotel presents a good price and a good service. Still, it was far from the city centre, and we had to take the bus.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was simple, but clean. The staff was friendly and helpufl. The hotel was 20 minutes by bus of the Vatican CityGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bad Service, but good room and excellent breakfast"
Everything was great, specially the breakfast the only thing is the location it is very far from DT but they do have a shuttle that drops you off and picks you up at 8pm the last pick up is at 8 pm so it doesn't let you enjoy Rome at night. The Front desk guy was rude when I ask him to break a 50Euro bill complaining to his coworker in Italian, little […] did he know I spoke Italian!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not the best"
The service here was great as well as the continental breakfast, but other than that everything was an extra charge. The internet, the work out room, the shuttle into Rome. And yes you have to shuttle or taxi or something because it is way to far to walk so plan an extra 30 minutes traveling each way morning and night. It also is rated as a 4 star hotel […] and it isn't really bad, but not the 4 star rating I was expected. More like a 3. Like I said though the staff was Awesome, but if I had to do it over again we would have stayed somewhere a little nicer and closer to the heart of Rome. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not a four star"
This hotel would probably be a 2 maybe 3 star in the states. It wasn't bad, just had higher expectations and Rome makes you pay a higher tax for four star hotels. Cons-pay for fitness and Internet (not cheap) Far from city center, tile floor makes room feel old and dirty, old tv, they turn AC off at night and we were hot! not a very nice surrounding […] area. No need for hotel shutte, its expensive and public transport is fine. Felt the hotel was not presented accurately on the website. Pros- nice breakfast. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pineta palace good for budget travelers"
situated in outer ring of city, pineta offers a shuttle service for a low fee to the vatican city from where one can go on hop on-hop off buses or cabs to specific poiunts and includes return ride. staff is friendly but beds are not to american tastes (futon like) i had no problem but for my elderly mom they were to hard.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I like the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing I did not lie was the location. I asked to be near the Vatican when I booked. This hote is a good 30 minute drive in extreamly bad traffic away from the Vatican. The bus system is hard to figure out, and the metro quits running at 9:00. "Hotel Pineta Palace - Good Hotel, NOT four stars"
This hotel was clean, it was maintained, but it just wasn't what I expect from a 4 star hotel. It was a great deal, and I would stay again, but I would be ready this time for a 2.5-3 star stay. There was no food to be found between 2-7:30 PM, so sorry if you're hungry... you'll have to go find something off site, which is fairly far to anything substantial, […] but again no major complaints, and would stay there again. "Clean but extremely noisy hotel"
We stayed in may this year (2013) and the hotel was very noisy but clean and well maintained if a bit dated. The rooms are quite dated but the rest of the hotel is nice enough although the WiFi is very expensive if you need to use it at about 10 euros for 24 hours and even though the booking stated that we would receive a 1 hour WiFi voucher free of […] charge we found out that the hotel provided no such vouchers. The hotel is very noisy in the morning's as everyone seems to rise at about 6-7 am and the walls are quite thin, so don't plan on having any long lie ins. The location wasn't bad taking about 30 minutes to get into the city centre using the train rather than the buses as although the trains were rarely on time the buses where far worse contrary to the recommendation's of the hotel staff. The hotel was about 40-45 minutes from the vetican and Rome city. The room and the hotel was no where near the 4 stars it was advertised. Firstly the room decor was very generic with magnolia walls. overall a very average experience... Hotel is on Cosmos's tours as first hotel you stay in..disappointing for first impression of rome/Italy...too far from city.. no decent shops or restaurants in surrounding area..noisy rooms...cleaners were more friendly and smiling than the front line reception staff...would not stay there again.. :(Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is a lovely place to stay. We found the language barrier no issue and each staff member were helpful and friendly. There is a walk to the bus stop which is quite easy to find. Be aware the bus gets very busy at times.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff were excellent and helpful, but I couldn't get past the condition of our room. Although I "think" it was clean, it is in dire need of a make over, particularly in the bathrooms. Although we didn't spend much time in the room, I would've preferred to spend the extra money and stay in a nicer hotel, because I felt like we were staying in a motel. […] Panelling was coming off, the ceiling in the shower was sinking, the shower head was difficult to keep secure so we had to hold it and the toilet water ran unless it was flushed just the right way. I know one day it ran all day, well at least from the time it was cleaned to until we got back to the room that evening and flushed it correctly. I'd hate to see that water bill, especially if other rooms are similar. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Better information and map need to be displayed on the internet for people trying to get to the hotel on public transport. Our room was very small and cramped considering the amount we paid. As we had to leave before breakfast was served, we asked for a breakfast box and it was pityful! NOT value for money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"This is a decent hotel but needs a revamp"
It was decent but needs revamping the room size was very good fot two people sharing but they need to modernise this hotel badly. The location isnt great as its a good half an hour from the city centre, however, its a good location if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Although it was a bit of a trek to get to the hotel, the staff was wonderful and the fact that breakfast was included was also great. "Clean but noisy. Rude indifferent staff. Far away"
This hotel seems to be ok. Most of the reception staff except Yasmin appear to be very indifferent. Treating customers according to the rooms status is very rude and they treat you differently if you book only a basic room. Shower area is too tiny & will not fit little big people. Hotel is quite certainly out of the way from most of the attractions […] in Rome and not close to any Metro stations. As already commented by someone else, we found that rooms have walls, roof and floors are so thin you can hear the noises of all sorts from other rooms which is very annoying. We were not very happy in this hotel; but for the money you pay, probably you get only this. It was astonishing how many groups of people came to this hotel! Our thanks goes to only Ms Yasmin at the reception. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Too far from main sights"
I enjoyed my stay in Rome. The hotel staff are all very helpful and friendly.I thought the location of hotel is just a little too far away from main sights, so ia lot of time is spent travelling on local bus,The service of the local bus number 49 is good and very cheap so it can be a good opportunity to see other parts of the cityGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The Hotel's location is not good and difficult to access by public transport. The furnishings are tired and the breakfast is poor. The Hotel is not deserving of it's 4 Star rating.Genuine Expedia guest review
The price was affordable. The breakfast was pleasant. The staff were not very friendly, but they were helpful. The area was calm. The Hotel is close to a convenience center and bus stop. We arrived the hotel about 10 o'clock in the morning, but we were allowed to check in early.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel, fantastic food"
We found the hotel staff very helpful and friendly, particularly in the restaurant. The hotel is close enough to the City centre to travel in daily without any issues, the walk to the bus stop in the intense heat was the hardest bit! The food in the main restaurant was fantastic, but quite pricey if you eat there every day. The rooms were fairly basic, […] but clean and comfortable. I would definitely go there again. "Great hotel, friendly staff, not the easiest locat"
The staff were fantastic on the whole, and the facilities were great. The service at breakfast wasn't fantastic, but I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't mind travelling a bit to get into Rome city centre.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for the price"
Don't be fooled by the complainers.... you get what you pay for... but in the case, the hotel is worth more than I paid. The staff are friendly, the hotel has a nice ambiance, and the area is quiet. yes you will need a car or bus/metro to get anywhere, but that is part of the fun. If you cannot afford something else, then this place is more than perfect. […] Nearby is an amazing pizza restaurant, and even the nearby supermarket is worth the visit. All you need. "Good quality hotel for the budget traveller"
It was nice small hotel slightly out of town but no problem for the intrepid traveller prepared to travel on metro or buses for the experience of staying in a locality.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very disappointing stay...far from civilisation!"
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. At least 20minutes walk to any transport, with no shops in the area. The hotel staff are extremely rude and impatient. Not willing to help or give advice and want to charge extra for everything. Some staff want to charge for parking in the hotel car park, while others say it has always been free. The food choice […] for breakfast is very limited. In fact what they call a 'buffet' is a small table with 1 type of cheese which looks scary, bacon and ham, and a couple types of bread, and tea and coffee. No options, especially for a vegetarian. Room service staff barge into the room early morning while your in bed even though you haven't requested room service. All in all a very disappointing stay in a hotel that should have no more than 2 stars, and that's being generous. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay....!"
Slightly out of the city but on a great bus/metro system for only 1Euro for 75 mins travel on either/both with tickets available at reception. Location also means it is quiet at night!!! Really nice hotel, food great, staff were tolerant of our inability to speak Italian and all spoke good English! Will certainly return if ever back in Rome. However......be […] aware that the shared Shuttle bus took 2 & 1/2 hours from airport to hotel as the driver got lost and also stopped by the Police for being where he shouldn't be!! It was infuriating at 1.30am!! Obviously this was nothing to do with the hotel......!! The return journey was only 45 mins! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Pineta Palace - absolutely recommended"
My two children and I were in Rome in January and stayed at Pineta Palace. The first thing they did when we arrived were drawing on a map where the hotel was, where the closest bus stop was, metro and sightings. They were very friendly and told us everything we needed to know. Breakfast is included but it could have been better. Fruit was from cans, […] scrambled eggs were a bit wet and bacon wasn't fried totally, but the selection was okay for the price. The restaurant didn't open until 7pm and that isn't the best when traveling with children; maybe they could have a family hour from 5pm to 7pm and then for everyone else after 7pm? Overall very satisfied; details can be improved. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice stay at Pineta palace"
The staff was helpful and friendly and spoke good english. The room was not quite up to date and really noisy.
