After reading all the poor reviews, I almost didn't book, but we wanted a place to park and not have to drive 3-4 hours home in heavy traffic after our day at Universal Studios. I called the hotel directly to make sure it wouldn't be a problem to park the car at 9am, go to US and return later. That went very well. The tell was a short walk to US and […] after we ate dinner, had a few drinks at CityWalk, knowing we didn't have a hectic drive back to the desert, where we live. The room was nothing special, but it was clean, secure and quiet, and we slept just fine. The 3 rating is for the spitting homeless guy sitting on the bench, whom we passed as we were walking to Universal Studios, but he was harmless...So depending on what you want the hotel for, this one worked for us. When we first arrived we almost missed it. Very small hotel. VERY SMALL PARKING SPACES be prepared to have door dings on your car. I have a small toyota and it barley fit in the parking spaces. Once we checked in we walked up to our room and only to find THE MAINTENANCE GUY watching tv and using the restroom! We thought they gave us the wrong room so […] started walking out and he said he was just having his lunch and would be out shortly. We said ok. The room seemed like it was an old apartment...carpet was dirty, bed covers had holes, shower head pressure was VERY POOR and shower was very small. Toilet was not fully secured to the floor and wobbled when sitting down. Lighting in the room was also poor. Total of 2 lights in the room...and don't expect to IRON! They have one ironing board about 15 inches long with legs that stand it up about 2 inches...and this is the only one they have for the whole hotel! You have to take it back to the front desk when your done. Probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. NOTE we recently went on a road trip from southern California to Las Vegas to northern California. Spend the extra money for a hotel with a better star rating! TRUST THE RATINGS! Read more

The room was clean and the beds were sooooo comfy. The owners were polite and friendly. They were helpful if we had a question. Hotel was close to Universal Studio in walking distance. The hotel was older but so worth the money. Continental breakfast had fresh donuts and coffee. Very old rooms, smelled like cigarettes, worn out beds, burn holes in the sheets n blankets, "breakfast" was old donuts n warm orange juice, decaying bathrooms and touched up with thick plaster and nasty paint. Was clean for what it was and convenient. Spend the money for the surrounding hotels!

It was clean enough. The TV could not be turned on unless the remote was right next to it. The traffic was loud. The beds were not comfortable. The heater was loud. It was difficult to sleep in this room.

It was definitely close to Universal Studios and very easy to get to that. There was a nice variety of restaurants within walking distance. The motel room itself was very basic. When it was mentioned to the front desk (first in the morning and then again in late afternoon), the clerk said the manager would take care of it. When we returned from dinner, the lights were on. This place was basically a bed tv and bath with shower it that is all your looking for this is a great place. very close to Universal Studios and you can take the free shuttle. we did the 2 day deal online. Personally the bed was to hard for me and the towels are not very soft, as well as the bedding. Other wised the customer service was great they […] when above and beyond with info on getting to the shuttle, and breakfast. And the room is Very clean, and no bugs. Loved that part! the only way this could have been better with the room they have to work with is better towels and bedding (softer) and a much softer bed - I felt like i was sleeping on a box spring, but my wife seemed fine so it might just be my preferences. The room was tiny and the heater was broken, but if all you need is a place to sleep than this hotel was fine. The second night we told them about the broken heater and they gave us a small space heater which did the trick. It was great that the hotel was so close to the metro/bus station!

We tried to do early check in at 11am, which the person over the phone said was alright but were turned away at the desk and was told to come back after 1pm. After checking in, some technicians came into our room which was very small and began fixing the telephone jack for about 20 minutes even though we told them we dont need to use the hotel phone. […] The rooms were described as a jacuzzi room with two queen size beds but the room only had one queen size and a smaller bed which was very unconfortablt sleep in. After falling asleep the front desk worker called the phone by the night stand and told me "hi im just checking to make sure the phone line works" and hung up. I felt like this was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The people there were very rude. In our room we had 2 full twin sized bed so for a family of 5. me and my husband's bed was very squeaky. If we sneezed the bed would squeak and they didn't do anything about the problem. We requested before we got to California for a small bed for the baby […] instead they gave us extra sheets and said the baby could sleep on the floor,even we paid extra because we are family of 5 . In there add they said "Jacuzzi" honestly it should have said bath tub with jets that takes an hour to fill up. There was no clock in the room no hangers for our jackets, and the shower was horrible. I am a fairly small women and was not able to stand in it comfortably. There was not even a box of tissues the office responds" i have never heard of a hotel with tissues" . It was unbelievably rude customer service. Not to mention the breakfast two boxes of doughnuts and two jugs of Sunny D for the whole Hotel. no parking space, people was fighting over the parking. Also they offer free shuttle for universal studio,we found the hotel very close to universal studio and shuttle belong to universal studio. Over all I hated the whole hotel and will not recommend it. Customer service was unfriendly. The carpet was dirty. I had semi-dried food on my bed. I only felt comfortable sleeping in my clothes. They served stale donuts for breakfast. Only the location is a positive. I would stay away from it.

I was truly appalled by this experience-from start to finish. The hotel appealed to us since it was close to Universal Studios. We arrived around 8:30 pm on a Tuesday. As we exited our car with our 7 year-old birthday girl in tow, I smelled marijuana. As we started up the steps to our room, my daughter asked what the smell was. I looked over and there […] were 4 guys just outside of there room and they just stared me down. Very uncomfortable moment!!! As we entered the room, it was hard to believe it was what was portrayed on line. We checked the room and it was barely decent but my daughter was so excited. We figured that just sleeping there wouldn't hurt us. I asked my husband several times if we could leave. I realized I had left something in the car. My husband stopped me and said"Neither of us are leaving this room until the morning." The next highlight was when my daughter turned down her bed. She yelled "Yuk" and pointed to the blanket. I looked closely and the blanket was so pilled that it looked like bugs. I had to pull down the blanket and convince her it was OK. After a rough sleep interrupted by car alarms many times, we got up. Next, we ran out of toilet paper and there were no spare rolls. Instead of staying for any longer than necessary, I just used tissue from my purse. The last final straw was the breakfast. It consisted of a gallon of sunny delight and some donuts that I refused to allow my daughter to eat. The worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Read more

We were not greeted in a friendly manner. The room had stains on the floor and musky smell. Hotel is very old and the locks made me uncomfortable with leaving anything in the room. There are a few fast food places nearby and a really good Mexican place just down the street. I felt like if I took a black light into that room, I would have been traumatized by what I would have seen. It wasn't just the fact that the walls were an awful color, or the room had a strange smell, but it was the quality of the furniture, the floors, the walls, and stairs leading up to our room. We thankfully brought our own blankets, a pack of incense for the smell, and our own sanitizer. I feel like the only thing they did to clean the rooms was to put a blanket on the bed, and vacuum the floors. The staff was nice, but it was a pretty unprofessional environment. It's good for just one night. If someone just needs to have somewhere to sleep after a long night at universal. I felt uncomfortable because you could see the maintenance done as quick fixes (hair in the wall within the paint, shower knob with lock ties, and the front door missing screws).

The only good thing about this place was the location, that is close to universal studios. The neighborhood is bad and dirty. The service at the hotel wasn't great at all. This place reminds me a a run down Motel 6. The TV remotes did not work, when I went to the management office I told them of the remote control issue, she said the remotes only work within 12 inches of the TV. I asked want's the point of a having a remote control if it only works within 12 inches of the television, her answer, " that's the way it works […] ". Once I got the TV turned on there was no cable, only local LA off air channels.This is the good stuff about this motel, now the bad....Our non-smoking room smelled of smoke, the air conditioner compressor was emitted a terrible burning smell. It is close to Universal but the rooms are tiny no parking. Staff is nice but rooms are messed up. Bathroom door had been kicked in and badly patched. The breakfast they offered was stale donuts. Well-Luckily we only stayed one night. Room was supposed to be ajoining suites-it was One Room with Two Beds the ajoining suite was a small doorway that opened into a small Room with a Bed init. The Airconditioner hardley cooled the room and made alot of noise. The Mircowave was clean but did not work. Atleast the Fridge Worked and was clean. One of […] the beds made sooooo much noise when you moved even the slightest amount woke everyone in the room. We did not sleep much. In the morning the hotel was supposed to have coffee and Continental Breakfast between 8-11am. Well we waited till 8am even though we we awake and moving at 6am. No coffee ready and they took donuts from the day before out from under the counter. Needless to say we went to Mc Donalds down the street. Luckily there were no Bugs in the room or we would have been out of there the night before. I am sorry to be such a complainer but the 5 of us were very tired after all day at Universal Studios. Oh Yeh, the shuttle for Universal which I was under the impression picked you up at the hotel did not. You had to walk about an 1/8th of a mile to the bottom of the hill at Universal and then back again on the way to the hotel. Not a very good area either. If there had only been woman it would have been scary. And we had a Handicapped woman with one leg with us, so was not as easy as we thought it would be. No pool or Jacuzzi But did have a vending machine for sodas and water. Read more
