We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

"Under construction"
Adverts and ratings made this hotel sound great - and in a few aspects it is: it's location, room size, kitchen units, and value (for being close to Manhattan). However, we had some problems with our stay with makes recommending this hotel impossible. The shower was not functional - either scalding hot or chilling cold - which would you prefer? because […] in our room, there was only those 2 to choose from. Also part of the hotel is under construction - they shut off the water for most of the day. Would have been nice to know about that before we pre-paid for the room. The sofa bed is about as uncomfortable as sleeping on the floor. Actually the floor would have been better. This hotel lacks some perks you may expect - like a continental breakfast, or even having a printer available for guests to print out something like a boarding pass. The front desk is mostly unhelpful. One guy in particular needs a new job. Management was nowhere to be found - so complaints are like talking to the wall. "Stay away while they refurbish"
There was no notice that they're in the middle of a refurbish. The water was turned off on two days for several hours each day. The elevators and corridors were covered in plastic. Rates of course were unchanged.
"Candlewood Suites"
Our room seemed practically brand new. Service was fine. Staff was very amicable. There are renovations taking place but are not an inconvenience. I WILL be staying there again.
Loved it! Great location, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Close to Path train station. Would definitely stay here again!

I was very impressed with this hotel. The staff was very helpful and nice. The room was amazing, and my significant other and I enjoyed all the amentites. Right after we left we talked about planning to stay here the next time we are in the tri -state area. I would highly recommend. "Great service - needs updating"
Whenever I stay in Jersey City, I stay here. There aren't a lot of options and it is affordable and the service is always top notch. The hotel needs updating. It's walkable to restaurants and bars, but kind of a long walk. They have a handy honor "store" where you can grab a soda, a yogurt or granola bar when you get your free coffee. "stay away if you want hot shower"
The room was very spacious and clean with a kitchen. I would recommend the hotel if only they have hot water. The shower was not hot enough and we felt so cold. Could be OK in summer but never so in a snowy winter.

"Gross & overpriced"
Outdated, dirty, rudimentary and depressing. Way overpriced for what you get. Everything from the floors, the bathrooms, the furnishings to the coffee was poor. Satellite was out on the TV. The front desk person didn't know how to process my Hotels.com payment and therefore couldn't tell me what Hotels.com was charging me. Beware if you try to take […] a cab to Newark from this hotel: the cabbies will not allow you to share the fare with another guest who is also going to EWR. Completely ridiculous racket. Read more
"Worked in a jam!"
We needed this room last minute because our power was out. The only negatives were that the temperature of the room was hard to regulate. Either too cold or too hot. Also, there wasn't alot of channels available on the tv. Other than that it was clean.

Candle wood suite in jersey city is close to all the public transportation, grocery store, malls and restaurants. The first room given to us was alright except when i slept on the sofa bed i thought bugs were biting me and i asked them to change to some other room which they did. Staff was very friendly. I had parked my car in the parking lot and somebody […] broke into my car and stole my GPS and ipod. Hotel said they are not responsible for their own parking lot. "Great place to stay around New York"
The hotel is in a great location, only 1 stop away from Wall St on the Path train, and only 5 minutes walk to the nearest Path stop. The views of Manhattan from the harbor front were magnificent. The hotel itself was fine - comfortable bed, full-sized kitchen and bathroom. The room was clean. Overall, a great place to stay around NYC.

"A fraction of the price of its area competitors"
I got this hotel room for my 74 year old mother. She was very satisfied. The kitchen is close to the sleeping quarters and it is pretty simple. However the room was very neat and clean and unbelievably her room had a view of the Empire State Bldg. The hotel was clean, roomy, and reasonably priced. Parking was actually free, and it's located blocks away from the short train ride over to NYC. I had an excellent view of the city skyline from my room.

The hotel had a good rate so I decided to stay there but that was a mistake. They only had, or so they claimed, a smoking room available even though my reservation did not specify as such. They offer a shuttle to the train station which is nice, but the driver refused to lift a finger to assist in any of our baggage. In fact stood by and asked us to […] load the bag into the van . "Candlewood Suites - Jersey City"
This was a fine hotel for two families with teenagers who had come to the NYC area to sightsee, including Ellis Island and Liberty Island, Times Square, Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, etc. The PATH subway under the Hudson River to the World Trade Center was pretty convenient from the hotel. It was great not to have to pay extra for overnight parking. The […] room setup was helpful to socializing with 4 or more people, with the desk chair, side chairs, large counter space, etc. The front desk staff was consistently patient and helpful and the "honor system" store in the lobby was a good plus. Note that this hotel orients itself toward extended stays, so they don't clean rooms or make beds every day, but you can get extra/fresh towels at the front desk. Read more

Would highly recommend this to anyone staying in Jersey City. The rooms were clean, the food pantry near the lobby was very handy and everyone who assisted us had superb customer service. "Quick trip to Statue of Liberty"
This was a last minute trip to the Statue of Liberty. That was the main reason I chose this hotel. Hotel was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a lite rail station 1/2 block from hotel, that ran to Liberty State Park. From there, a bus picks you up and takes you to the ferry station. Entire run took less than 25 minutes and cost less […] than $6 per person, round trip. Also a PATH station less than 3 blocks away that runs to financial district. My husband accidently booked two hotels for the same date through hotels.com. He immediately realized his mistake. When he contacted hotels.com they called the manager of Candlewood Suites in Jersey City to see if we could get one of the reservations changed to the next weekend. "Suites are great!"
My daughter and I enjoyed staying here while visiting with my son over Thanksgiving. The "suite" made it very nice for being together before and after events without feeling like you are in somebody's bedroom. The kitchen was nicely equipped and we took advantage of the "Shop" in the lobby. It is definitely on our repeat list.
"The view is better from Jersey"
I usually stay in Manhattan when in NY, but the conference was in Jersey City so I decided to stay across the Hudson. What a fantastic view of NY from the Jersey side. Candlewood was walking distance from the conference. Very comfortable bed, nice little kitchen and very quiet. Not many amenities as you have to get food elsewhere, but having a fridge […] and microwave is great. Decent workout room, several cardio machines and one weight machine. Not crowded. The Exchange Place PATH station is 600 yards away and from there you can be at the WTC in 5 minutes or the theater district in 15. Lots of new buildings and development in Jersey since 9/11. Never felt unsafe. The strangest nearby building has to be the old power station which has been abandoned for years and is scheduled for renovation. Very out of place next to the Trump condos. It looks like they could have filmed "Enemy at the Gates" there. All in all, a good 3-day stay. I would stay there again, particularly as it is 30% cheaper than anything in Manhattan. Read more

We have stayed here several times before due to its location (close to PATH, safer section of Jersey City). One small problem was the person who stayed in our room previously smoked. Would highly recommend this hotel to people who want to stay at an affordable hotel near Manhattan, however, must be willing to tolerate the easy 10 minute walk to the PATH train into Manhattan (takes maybe 20 minutes on PATH to Midtown Manhattan and 10 on PATH to World Trade Center). The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great room, actually like appartment with two rooms and kitchen, two TV's. Very comfortable. I was REALLY, REALLY lucky to have found this hotel. It was on the waterfront in Jersey City and only 10 - 15 minutes from 46th St and Broadway by car. The 24 hr shop is a great convenience and the suite was fully stocked with a kitchenette (pots, pans, etc), table, coffee maker, stove, etc. There is no restaurant in the hotel but restaurants are within […] the area.
