"Wonderful hotel"
We booked the Green House Inn for our "mini-honeymoon". We had our destination wedding in New Orleans at a separate hotel but wanted to book elsewhere so that we could have time alone after the wedding. We chose Green House for the gorgeous suite that they offered. It's in between the two main areas of the city- the French Quarter and Upper Garden District and very close to main attractions in the warehouse district and magazine street. The hotel itself was so quiet and relaxing. But the parking and access to public transportation made it really easy to get anywhere we needed. The innkeepers were very nice and offered guidance/help for places to visit. I would absolutely recommend it for any couple wanting to stay in New Orleans but wanting a quiet escape! We will definitely be back!

"Friendly Staff/Great Location"
We arrived Thursday morning before check-in but the staff took our bags, checked us in and told us our room would be ready when we returned. Upon our return, our bags were in the room and we were ready to go. All of our interaction with the staff our entire stay was fantastic. Our room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was not extravagant but was sufficient and satisfactory. We used the pool a few times and the spa., which heated up quickly. The pool is in shade most of the day, but the surrounding pool area is relaxing. During our stay our fellow guests were respectful of others in the Inn, which is important in a smaller property. The location was great. On Magazine St which has a bus line. Thus we had easy access to the Garden District, Central Business District, and French Quarter. We left happy.

"Nice Bed, not much breakfast"
Our room was large and well-lit, but had few amenities. One tiny bar of soap for 2 sinks, the wifi did not work, and the breakfast was terrible -everything prepackaged and overripe fruit. The innkeeper was not around much to offer suggestions or fix things.

A great freeing place to let one's hair down and relax. But it's not a place to sleep - very loud when guests stay up late and drink at the pool, so beware.

"Convenient location and nice neighborhood."
Jesse was awesome to work with and very helpful. I thought the pool area could have been cleaned a little more like the seats on the swing or the bottom of the hot tub after a lot of guests used it the night before. Location was great. My room was next to the door, but guest were very considerate after 10pm so no noise. Breakfast was OK. I wish coffee was available after breakfast. Restaurant recommendations good.

"What a welcoming owner, keeper, and staff!"
This is a wonderful place to wind down after getting into the groove of NOLA. The local flavor on/around Magazine Street is amazing, I highly recommend this inn, and the neighborhood it is lovingly situated in, to anyone who wants a New Orleans experience free of drunken frat boys and sorority sisters.

If I get back to the Big Easy I will definately stay at the Green House Inn again. The house was charming and the pool and hot tub were so relaxing after long days of sight seeing and walking. The staff was great and the other guests were interesting and engaging. It was well situated in the garden district and very close to the trolley line; very convienient.

"Nicely situated in New Orleans"
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. We were greeted at the door, let into the gated parking facility, shown the public areas of the hotel and were given an informative account of the many wonderful aspects of both the city and our particular neighborhood before being led to our room. I was very grateful for our host Jesse's attention as he touched upon things about which I would probably not have thought to ask. Large and extremely comfortable room and bed. I was a bit dubious as we were so close to the entrance. However, guests are respectful of the sign placed on the front door in the evenings reminding those returning to do so quitely. We also had a door leading out to the garden and pool/hot tub area, a lovely oasis of palm trees and chairs to lounge in. There is a "clothing optional" aspect of this area and some guests do in fact lounge poolside au natural. I enjoyed the pervading green color of the house, both inside and out, and there was quite a lovely dining area set for breakfast each morning. A German Shepherd is also in residence, but unfortunately we didn't get to meet him, so anyone not as fond of dogs need not worry they will be overwhelmed. The location of the hotel is great, as it isn't too close to the craziness of the French Quarter, but it is about a 15 minute walk, or is accessible by streetcar. Magazine St is also a fun place to explore. All in all, good value and a very pleasant stay.

"Amazing!"
I went to college 30 years ago in New Orleans and fell in love with city. I continue to visit regularly, as my daughter is a Tulane student. Now that I have " discovered" the Green House Inn, I would not dream of staying anywhere else. The location is within walking distance of the French Quarter and many of the wonderful bars and restaurants on Magazine Street. Street car, bus and cabs easily accessible. The innkeeper and staff go out of their way to make your stay wonderful, and have great suggestions. The courtyard pool is as tranquil and inviting as you cane imagine. I can't wait to go back!

"Amazing-Intimate place to stay in New Orleans"
Check in was a breeze. Room was super clean and wonderfully accommodating with nice amenities. Pool and spa open 24 hours, rare but lovely especially for New Orleans, since it stays warm all evening. Hot tub seemed to be on a timer, couldn't get the jets to work after midnight, but still hot and inviting after a long day of fun in NOLA.

"Greenhouse Inn A nice relaxing place to stay."
This was a nice relaxing place to stay and very convenient to all of the French Quarter, the Garden District, and the Warehouse district. The outside areas of the Inn were not particularly clean and no attempt was made to clean them. The hot tub was very nice, however the pool was not heated. The staff and owners were very friendly and quick to share information, suggestions of places to visit, and Mardi Gras logistics so we could easily get to and around the parades.

"Excellent stay! We didn't want to leave..."
We highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast Style hotel. The pool and jacuzzi were excellent. Breakfast was only warm continental, but very good - one of the managers brings fresh citrus from his own trees! We stayed in the suite which was very large and comfortable. The soaking tub unfortunately drained quickly no matter how I plugged it up and there really was a lack of hot water, so even filing it was difficult, so it could not be used.... but the dual head two person shower made up for it. We learned to shower at night instead.

"We will return!"
We had always stayed in the French Quarter or Business District on previous trips but would go out to St. Charles during our stay. I was glad we did it the other way this time. The WWII museum was only three blocks away and so was the streetcar stop. The free parking saved us $30 each night. A couple times we walked to the French Quarter. We will definitely return when it is warmer and we can make full use of the garden patio and hot tub.

Host was funny and entertaining. Outside was beautiful. Bed was comfortable. Room didn't feel clean, old not in a good way furniture. For the price they could have done better than croissants in a plastic bag and Sams club packaged week old muffins! They could have put them out on a tray for heavens sake. "Getaway from Tourist Trail at Garden District Gem"
I am a frequent conference visitor to NOLA. Wound up at Green House because my go to hotel near Canal St. was fully booked. Couldn't have been luckier? It was a joy to come "home" to the comfort of the Inn and lush garden after a day of business meetings. If you want all the amenities of a full hotel, don't stay here. If you want simplicity, comfort, quiet and caring service...this will work for you.I hope to come back in warmer weather to make use of the pool. When you've had enough of the french quarter I recommend walking further into the garden distrrict along Magazine street toward the antique and design shops, the cafes and casual restaurants. Also, for a fabulous meal you're in walking distance from Cochon. Enjoy!

"A wonderful place to stay!!"
We were looking for a different experience that the "hotel" situation for this trip to New Orleans. We have been before and wanted something new. The Greenhouse Inn looked very inviting, and the nightly rate was within our trip budget. From the moment we arrived, it was as if we were visiting friends. The pool area looked fabulous on the website, but its incredible when you see it in person. That's one of the things that made this trip so spectacular. We met several other guests and had a wonderful time visiting with them. The service was top notch. We were able to walk to almost all of our destinations, avoiding the parking hassle. I definitely want to stay at The Greenhouse Inn every time I'm in New Orleans.

"Great B&B in NOLA"
Jesse and Frank were wonderful hosts. This 8 room B&B was very nicely decorated, maintained, and friendly. Location is very short walk to the WW2 museum, and long walk to Superdome, French Quarter and Magazine Street boutiques. The gardens around the small private pool and hot tub area was very nice, but weather was too cool to take advantage of, and it has "European Attitude" if you should opt for topless sunbathing around the pool. We would like to come back to stay here on our next trip to New Orleans.

"Great Spot - Not a spot for kids/young families."
Great spot. VERY friendly and involved staff. One of my better Inn experiences to date. (in over 30 I would guess - travel a lot for work) The pool and hot tub are top notch. Legit canopy around of VERY well maintained plants and tress. But as a warning - they are not kidding about the very well advertised and fair enough - "relaxed approach" to the clothing requirements at the pool. Had some skinny dippers there in the early afternoon, which was a surprise at first, but fine. (once I saw all the signs I had missed) Otherwise rustic style that is well maintained, other than my desk chair that broke when I sat on it. (despite my normal [20] BMI) VERY close to everything in new Orleans. Walking distance to several amazing pubs, restaurants and downtown. Very safe neighbourhood as well. The combination of amazing staff, great location and great inn - I would highly highly recommend this inn for adult travellers. A no fly zone for people with kids under the age of 21.

You know I am reluctant to write this review. I don't want to give the secret of this place away. But the owner is a great person and has always gone above and beyond to make every stay special. Jesse the owner and Frank the Inn Keeper are by far the most professional and personable people I have ever dealt with in the hospitality industry. They will always work with us to accommodate any issues or request we have. The Inn is truly a Garden of Eden that is charming and romantic but situated in the middle of the city. The outdoor facilities are phenomenal. The cleaning and support staff are exceptional. The breakfast is simple but nice. The only issue I have is that it books up quickly. If you’re looking to relax this is the place to stay. Just don’t go when I want to go!

Well run, nicely located, small, intimate, and refined. Although the clientele are quiet, the walls, floors, doors, and traffic are definitely not. And don't be surprised if the person next to you in the hot tub did not bring his swim suit.

"Some visits go beyond star ratings"
12/16/15 ManitouWarren1 Colorado Springs
I saw in the nude, the blue world under water quiet and surreal. I rose to the surface to the sound of the pool's waterfalls. I was alone and felt like this was MY little oasis. And although I would encounter Frank, the helpful innkeep and several nice guests, it would feel like "my" place for the entire stay. I think it's funny that they call the clothing-optional policy European style, emphasizing the fact that Americans are so Victorian in our attitudes about our bodies. Oh, well. This more casual approach fits the style of New Orleans perfectly. The rooms are nice but nothing fancy. The breakfast, which includes make-your-own-waffles, could use a few personal touches, like a good homemade granola and maybe some baked goods once in a while. Still, there's a magic about this place and how it embraces you, that goes beyond any star rating.

Beautiful old house built in the 1800's with more recent remodelling. Tasteful and seemless complementary mixture of old and new. Over the course of nine days we stayed in two different rooms and both were unique and lovely. I love the authenticity of the house. Old wooden floors, narrow staircase, beautiful antiques, original family photos of years gone by. Outside in the private yard is a pool (though not heated) and a large hot tub. The gardens are wonderful with tall, towering palms, bamboo, and other tropicals strategically situated inspiring relaxation and beauty. A fish pond, swinging benches, rocking chairs all add to the space to invite relaxation and rest. We enjoyed the hot tub every day! Clothing optional. Also, there is a vending machine to purchase pop (soda) and beer for $1.25. It couldn't get any better we thought, but it did! Great location in Lower Garden District and on Magazine Street. One can walk in any direction if you feel up to exploring. Bus route closeby. Streetcar route is a few walkable blocks away. Magazine Pizza is two blocks away and the WWII Museum is also conveniently down the street. Breakfast options are available such as fruit, cold cereals, yogurt, and a waffle iron between certain hours. The coffee was very good and we loved the chicory coffee so popular in Louisiana. Less acidity but lots of smooth flavour. No heart burn! As much as I have written above about this place the absolute best part was Frank, the staff member who was on the premises during business hours Monday through Friday. Sitting down at breakfast, visiting, talking and laughing with Frank was our favourite part of the day. His gracious hospitality and charm, quick wit, warmth, not to mention helpfulness was the best and most welcome unexpected surprise. Frank made us feel at home, and as though we were among the dearest of friends. Thank you, Frank. See you again.

The Green House Inn is a nice bed and breakfast in a great location with good rates. The property is an old Victorian style home with a beautiful garden area. The pool while in the great setting had several leaves floating which made it not quite as inviting. But the room, breakfast, and hospitality more than made up for the pool leaves.

The Greenhouse Inn is a beautiful property. It boasts eclectic decor with plenty of character & feels like a home away fr home. It has an outside pool & hot tub tranquilly surrounded by lush greenery. It is conveniently located just 3 blocks from the St. Charles streetcar on Magazine St. The Inn is a 10 min. streetcar ride from the French Quarter. It costs $1.50 each way or a $3 day pass is available (cash only). St. Charles street has numerous fun eateries & Magazine street has many local shops within a few blocks walk of the Inn. There is also a Magazine street bus route. We came to New Orleans for a football game & since we do not mind walking, the 20 min walk to & fr the Mercedes Benz Superdome was rather convenient. The real bonus to staying at The Greenhouse Inn was Frank in my opinion. He was friendly, welcoming & very helpful.

A three story house with good sized rooms. The staff could not be more friendly or helpful. Breakfast is included and gives guests a chance to swap stories around the large table. "Great Stay"

When you think of New Orleans you think French Quarter, night life, noise, drinking, more noise. If you're like us, that stuff is ok but not 24/7. We found a quiet, tropical oasis at the Green House Inn. It's the best of both worlds. Their property is a lush green, quite paradise surrounding a beautiful clothing optional pool and hot tub. The rooms while not deluxe are perfect for what we were looking for. They're clean and well maintained. And the beds are extremely comfortable. I got the best nights sleep I've ever gotten on vacation. A short walk is the "trolley" that takes you right into the French Quarter for only $3 for an all day pass. But a review of this hotel would not be complete without mentioning Jesse, Frank & Alan. Right from the check-in I knew this would be my kind of place not because of the property but because the people that run it REALLY care. Have any questions? Just ask. they will go out of their way to answer them. They are always around making sure you're having a good time. Also if they see anything on the property (no matter how small) that needs repairs, it's done. Our door was sticking because of the humidity (to be honest we didn't even notice but Jesse did) it was fixed THAT evening. So the Green House Inn has become our go to place when we jut "have" to get away. Thank you Frank, Jesse and Alan for a great stay. WE WILL BE BACK.

" Very nice place "

As a travel agent, it happened a number of times that I got asked from my customers to arrange a journey in NOLA during their on the road trips accross the USA, so I finally decided to go have my first time ever in this wonderful city. I found this b&b on google and the beauty of the house itself and the chance of the clothing optional pool area did the rest. So last mid-August I was there with my partner and we had very good time, despite the very variable weather and its high humidity, atually very normal in the summer (but this we knew already). I can confirm that the house looks very nice, all in wood and the combination with its vintage style is interesting especially for someone from EWurope like me. Jesse and Frank gave us a nice welcome and told us about all the amenities and gave us a full description of what to do and where to go, very very helpful. The room we stayed (I don't remember the name) was the one above the entrance, pretty large, with 2 bathrooms, a desk and sofa and the bed had a wonderful mattress. still Very quiet even if the road was very close, the only problem we had was that the water in both showers was always a bit cold but we went thru it. The breakfast was okay for me, as an italian we are not into big meals in the morning so a cup of coffee, some orange juice and a croissant with nutella filled me up until lunch time. The outdoor garden and pools were really beautiful! Lots of tropical plants (I actually felt like I was in my beloved Thailand or Key West)), lots of lounge chairs and a very hot and strong jacuzzi made us begin and end the days in the best way ever...plus the fact that I finally had a chance to take all my clothes off while in the sun and in the jacuzzi made a big big difference! I am a naturist so I take every chance to strip off when possible and it is still quite rare in the USA. The house is very well located, just around 10 blocks from Canal St and the French Quarter, few blocks from the beautiful big mansions in the Garden District, around 3 blocks from the street car, basically everything is in a walking distance and if you don't want to walk again after a day of touring around there is a nice brewery and a coffee house very few steps away from the gate. We will definitively go back to NOLA and we will surely stay again at the Green House Inn for some more days as soon as there will be the chance to go back to America.

We stayed in the "Bird of Paradise room" in October. Booked this B and B as liked the look of the pool area, and thought it would be a great place to relax. We were not disappointed and really enjoyed chilling around the pool after a late night out in the French quarter. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of room for our suitcases. Agree with other reviews how wonderful Jesse and Frank were, and on our arrival we were given great advice about what to do, and where to dine, etc. We also did feel the breakfast was very basic, compared to other B and Bs we stayed in throughout our trip. We only once walked into Bourban street, other times either took a taxi, or took the St Charles street car which was around 3 blocks away. The service on this line was a bit inconsistent, where sometimes we waited 5 minutes, and other times we waited 25 minutes. Felt safe around the b and b, but you do have to be careful in some areas near by. We were pleased that we stayed at the Green house inn. However you do need to be happy to be that little further away from the French Quarter, and be prepared to walk, taxi, or take the street car. We felt it was worth it as really enjoyed the pool area, and the peace and quiet.
