"Very Convenient"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
I was scheduled to stay one night in the hotel and I truly enjoyed my stay. I was traveling with my 5 month old daughter by myself and they placed me on the bottom floor close to where I could park to make it easier for me to bring all of her stuff in.
"Good safe place to stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 28, 2012
This hotel is fairly new so room and grounds are clean in dont show any signs of wear. Its actually located in a parking lot of a sister hotel brand. Parking was a bit crowded due to alot of large vehicles from both hotels parked across multiple spaces but there was still spaces available. The hotel only has a single entrance into the building so everyone goes in through the front lobby and after 8 or 9 pm the door is secured and manned by hotel staff for safety reasons. They will call your room to notify you of visitors waiting. As for the rooms it had large flatscreen with extended basic cable, desk, phone, nice office chair, the usual. My only possible complaint about this hotel ( it may be a chain decision instead of a local decision) is the tiny pillows they use on the bed. Instead of having 4 standard pillows, you have 8 pillows that are essentially the size of couch throw pillows. Overall i would highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and safety. (i did not partake in any other amenities like pools, breakfasts, etc so no comment reguarding them)
"Booking of 8 days"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 26, 2012
Late,First night had sewer smell in bathroom. In the am we told the clerk at the desk. She was to put in a work order, and it was never found. Waited until we got back in hotel late the 2nd night, and roommate noticed also. Manager had us move late that night to another room. We were never given any comp for at least one of those 2 nights we had this inconvenience in our stay. Hotel found leaking of methane gas from sewer being sucked back inside from a broken fan. The hotel possibly could have had an explosion.
"Great hotel..."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 25, 2012
It was a great short stay (we didn't stay overnight as we had to go). The only problem I had was as we were checking in, the front desk associate wouldn't let us check in til 3p (we left at 4p). When I told her I have a reservation and we had to leave at 4p anyways, she check us in right away (didn't make sense). I guess if you're a walk in customer, they treat you different. It wasn't like it was a super early check in. It was at 1p.

"The Sleep Inn in Athens AL is a bit hidden"
It is just behind Krystal and not so visible. It would have been good to very good except for 2 little things. The Starecase (and only the staircase) had a very mouldy smell - so hold your breath if you use the stairs. The fire alarm went off at 5:30AM on our 3rd day and the fire bregade and police didn't show up - it was a false alarm triggered by […] new ovens in the kitchen we suspect - but the managers were shocked that the alarm didn't trigger the Fireservice and Police so I figure they will do something there.
