When we arrived, we had to be buzzed into the hotel due to safety in the area. While heading to the basement to our rooms, we passed the indoor pool which was closed by the health department. The smell inside our rooms was disgusting. Smelled like urine. We took all of our items back upstairs and checked out immediately.

Overall not impressed... was intended to be a convenient quick overnight spot just outside of Atlanta to avoid some traffic. That part worked well. Not going to blame the hotel for the road construction at its entrance, but there probably should have been some work going on inside the hotel. Noted issues: (a) bath fan inoperable; (b) one drinking cup […] available in a double room w/2 adults; (c) one ice machine - lower floor; upper floor machine inoperable; (d) general musty scent; (e) water stain on ceiling (from roof?); (f) something on wall that looked like a blood spatter; (g) at least one inoperable light... another lacked a switch and had to be unplugged. Beds were fine, had to re-arrange room a bit for outlets; charging electronic devices. Did not attempt use of TV, coffee-maker. This hotel is nice and the staff is friendly. There is some road construction going on currently so finding the entrance is a bit difficult to access. The area is known to be sketchy though I didn't find it to be that bad. My only real complaint is the continental breakfast which included nothing more than a box of pastries under a plastic cover, some […] instant oatmeal and grits, and some dry cereal (corn flakes, raisin bran, and fruit loops). There was no fruit, not even a rotting apple or banana as I've found in every other hotel that I've stayed at for the past 3 or so years. The hotel was in a very good location. That's the end of the good things I could say about it. If it were the last hotel in Marietta I would camp out in a tent. My husband have stayed at several Baymont Inns over the last few years and this was not truly a Baymont Inn. First, the location was bad with no outside lighting and construction out front. Then the room smelled awful and housekeeping didn't come around with fresh towels until nearly 9:00 pm. I never saw a continental breakfast to speak of unless they […] meant cold cereal. They were still remodeling rooms in the basement while we were there and it was very noisy. So, we just stayed gone all day. However the front desk staff was great and very helpful. THERE IS NO FITNESS CENTER. They advertise one, even have a picuture of it when you are booking, but they say it is "under construction" and nothing is available. The gym was the key facility amenity that caused me to book here. I was supposed to be in a non-smoking room because I am allergic to it, but smelled smoke. Then at bedtime, I noticed an ashtray […] sitting on the table. It was a smoking room after all. The bathroom door and the sink drain were issues in the bathroom. We were very dissapointed with our stay. I had my kids and grandchildren with me, we rented two rooms. when we inquired about the pool we were told there was no pool. We found the pool while trying to find an ice machine that worked ,the pool had been shut down by the board of health. The soda machines were out of soda. I was expecting a medicore hotel for the price I paid, but I hoped for the best. This hotel was AWESOME! The KING size bed was soft and all 5 pillows that were provided for us were VERY soft. I was a little bummed when he gave me the first room on the first floor right around from the desk BUT, it turned out to not be a problem. The hotel was SO quiet. How quiet you may ask? It was so quiet that we questioned if there were really people staying at the hotel but knew that there were because there were a lot of cars in the parking lot and in the morning I hear our neighbors showering and some children walking down the hall. The hotel was 5 minutes from the Cobb Performing Arts Center (where we were going) and about 15 minutes to downtown Atlanta. I would definately recommend and stay at at this hotel, again! Now don't get me wrong. It wasn't THAT bad, but the staff was rude and they were always eating in the dining room. Never at the check in counter. When checking in, the girl was overwhelmed with phone calls and just handed us our key, without any information. The AC was off when we went in the room and it was HOT in there. The room never really got cold […] and the AC unit was extremely loud. There were no do not disturb signs to put on the door, so housekeeping came a couple of times when we weren't ready and we told them to come back in just a few minutes, we were about to leave. They never came back, but we saw them eating downstairs in the dining room. It was the only time we saw them. All of the ice machines were out of order, so we had no ice. The blow dryer worked for about 10 minutes and then needed time to recharge, because it wouldn't work again until 10 minutes later. The water pressure in the showers were terrible and you just didn't feel clean. Other than that, it's a good location. About 15-20 minutes away from downtown Atlanta (depending on traffic), the area itself is quiet. There is a Ramada and Super 8 across the street. I haven't stayed at either of those, but I highly recommend staying there over this hotel, depending on the price. We got a really good deal, but you get what you pay for. Like I said in my title, I am not a picky traveler. I like to find good deals and be comfortable. I don't have to have the finer things in life, but I expect ice machines to work and to get clean towels and a made up bed. Read more

We were weary from a long drive and booked our stay "on the fly" about 2 hours before arriving at 11:30 p.m. My husband and I were greeted at the front door by the manager who had secured it for the night. Our room was immaculate -- the bed was maybe the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Would recommend this one to anyone!

After arriving at the hotel, we noted that the room really smelled musty and humid, thinking it was because it had been closed up for a while. Later on during the evening, I noted that there were numerous "black spots" on the walls and above the showers in the bathroom. It appeared to be some kind of mold and it appeared that it had been "growing" for […] some time. Obviously, they don't do much to check and clean the walls with bleach or some other mold removal cleaner. I assumed that this was the cause for the room smell. Do not stay at this hotel - The rooms were not clean. Very musty and moldy. We checked in, opened the door to our room and turned around and left the hotel. I think if we had stayed the night we would have been sick.
