The convenience to Charleston was great. The room was not too clean and should have many updates. Paint was coming off the wall, the shower was VERY slippery with no shower mat, and the carpet needed vaccuming, especially around the edges. We did have good service when we asked for an extra luggage rack. The breakfast was good but wished it had been later than 10 AM.

The comforter and blanket had hairs on them from previous guest, I assume. The chair has so much dirt and grease, it appeared someone must have re-built an engine in the room and used the chair hold the parts. There were occupied spider webs above almost every door in the corner on the level we stayed the bottom floor. The outside trash can was not emptied in three days. If this hotel has a manager, they need to be replaced, this was not acceptable.

Very nice hotel for those on a budget. The staff was very nice and check in/check out was smooth. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fine and there was plenty of everything to eat and drink and a staff member was there to keep the breakfast area stocked. The hotel is located about 5-7 minutes from downtown Charleston and about 15 minutes from Folly beach. We only used our room to shower in before going out and to sleep in at night and for that purpose it was really just fine. I will stay there again next time I visit.

the hotel was in need of typical basic maintenance.on the 2nd floor at the elevator ceiling tiles are falling down due to a leak, this is not a killer until you factor in the black mold present on the tile. Hotel staff interested more with personal calls and texting than actually helping customers. I personally waited around 4-5 minutes while the employee stood in the corner texting. This ,i suppose, is common because the "Employee will return in 10 minutes" sign was displayed. overall if you have time to wait for discourteous staff this is a nice place for overnight business travel

The hotel is in a convenient location, and a decent value for the price. However, there is no fitness center, it is shared with the Best Western next door, and consists of a non-working TV, a treacherous treadmill, and a stationary bike. Also, the cleanliness of the room was not the greatest. There was a hair on the bathroom floor when we got there, and the room just felt slightly dingy. I gave it a "4" because it pretty much met my expectations.

My wife and I were passing through Charleston on the way to Florida and wanted a nice king sized bed to sleep on in a new property close enough to downtown Charleston but with free parking and without paying downtown prices. This fit the bill perfectly. The staff was friendly, something that we always encounter in this lovely city and the South in general. The room had high speed wi-fi, a very comfortable king sized bed, and a pretty cool shower. All in all, no frills but great for the price!

Hotel staff was good, breakfast was better than most. If you are looking for a hotel with a fitness center...do not book this place. The "fitness center" is located in the neighboring hotel and it is a small room with 1 treadmill, 1 ab bench and 1 1985 stationery bike. I wasn't expecting a state of the art gym but if one other person is in there you honestly couldn't work out. Also parking is expensive in Charleston, I would recommend finding a place that is closer to downtown so you can walk and not pay for parking...this place is more than 3 miles from downtown.

I looked at other reviews before booking and this hotel had no negetives. Staff was friendly and helpful in recommending the Charleston Crab House and the sports bar down the street for watching the World Series game. The only thing that needs to be clarified is that the fitness center is in the ajacent property and you need to get a key from them. The "center" is located onthe back of thier property and consists of one stationary bike and a tread mill that hte belt was so loose on that I had to hold onto the rails to prevent from falling. The laternative was to run in outside in a cold rain, which I had not prepared to do because I was expected a functional on premise center that did not require going outside. I would stay there again. Location to historic Charleston is a value.

This hotel was great. It truly exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. The only problem we had was the shower head and shower nob did not work properly the first time we used the shower. However, we told the management and they had someone come fix it within the hour. The rooms are really large (we had the king-sized bed) and all the linens and towels were really soft and comfortable. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast, but included Belgian waffles! The location was great too because the Savannah highway gives you easy access to all of Charleston without having to pay in-town prices. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Charleston area.
